[EVERYTHING] Going through a rewatch and a scene surprised my friends!

So I am going through a complete rewatch, getting some friends into the show, obviously.

Part of the fun is them seeing some of the iconic scenes for the first time and paying attention to their reactions.

The most recent one we came across was the Golden Crown. I had almost forgotten how satisfying that scene was and they certainly loved every second.

My question is what other scenes should I be looking forward to watching that aren't necessarily the big ones. I mean obviously there is Ned's beheading, the Red Wedding, Purple Wedding etc. What are some of the not-so-historic scenes that are still surprising to someone who hasn't watched the show, or anything like it, before.

Q&A Episode 7.12 "Say Yes"

Do Rick and Michonne run into any Saviors while on their scavenging journey? What happens?

Yep. They run into a small group of Saviors playing golf. Because they're distracted, Rick and Michonne are able to steal their shit, which includes more batteries for the walkie Jesus lifted from the Sanctuary.

What happens at the school Rick and Michonne come across?

Apparently something very bad happened there a long time ago. A carnival is in the back of the school. There are tons of soldiers there as well as civilians, with the soldiers still wearing their guns. So, there's the big gun stash Rick has been looking for! Then, when they get on the roof of the school to get a better view they fall through, but then we hear them laughing. Another jackpot! Inside the school right where they land is a gigantic stash of ready-to-eat/military food.

Does Rick have a close call with death? How?

Oh yes. He climbs a Ferris Wheel to get a better look, but then falls off. Michonne comes racing to help. When she gets there she sees the walkers devouring something and assumes it's Rick. She just freezes and when it looks like Michonne is done too, Rick emerges and saves her. It turns out those walkers were chowing on a goat from the carnival.

Does Tara tell Rick about Oceanside?

We don't hear it directly, but the episode ends with her meeting Rick and her saying, "I have something to tell you." I think we can assume she probably told him.

What's going on with Rosita in this episode? Does she end up at the Hilltop?

Same old, same old. She's pissed. Frustrated. Impatient. Tells Tara off again. She does eventually end up at the Hilltop, and she and Sasha make a pact to take out Negan. She even brings Sasha a top-notch sniper rifle that Rick and Michonne got from that raid at the school.

Why do they go back to the junkyard? What happens?

They go back to the junkyard to deliver the guns that Rick and Michonne recovered at the school. 63 guns in total. Yet Jadis says nope, it's not enough. She insists that they must bring them at least double that (basically at least 63 more).

How does the episode end?

The episode ends with the Rosita/Sasha pact to kill Negan.

BONUS

  • Tara gets babysitting duty for lil Judith. She gives her the bracelet she got at Oceanside and carries on a one way conversation debating whether or not to tell Rick about Oceanside

  • After hitting the RTE meal jackpot, Rick gives Michonne some chili mac and cheese that he found and she really digs it. It leads to a nice evening on a gym mat (and more sex).

  • Rick tells Michonne the story of how he met Glenn, how Glenn saved his life but he couldn't save his. Michonne cries.

Eugene's Past?

In 7x11 Eugene was telling Negan about all of his degrees and stuff, is this all a lie, just like what he told everyone when he said he knew the cure? Or is all that stuff true and the only thing that was a lie is the stuff about the cure? Or do we even know? If we dont and its all speculation on if its true or not, I would think the degrees and stuff are true just based off of how smart he actually seems to be.

[EVERYTHING] About the first bit of foreshadowing...

After rewatching the first episode again, I realized something that might be rather obvious now. During the scene where they stumble upon the stag and dire wolf that killed one another, it's clear that it's a big foreshadow for what is to come later on with the downfall of house Stark and Baratheon. But now, with the knowledge of who the three-eyed raven is and what he can do, wouldn't it be obvious that he controlled the two animals and set them there to be discovered? Both as a warning and as a gift to the Starks who were greatly aided by their wolves? I'm sure GRRM could have just written in as symbolism, but it could easily be that. Idk, thoughts? It's been fun rewatching old episodes.

Question about season 2 ep. 7 and Walt's thought process

Walt tells Jesse to "handle it" in Breakage after Skinny Pete gets robbed and then that whole thing happened in Peekaboo. Then in the next episode he's at the school and fails his student after telling him not to bullshit a bullshitter. Then he calls Jesse and says, "remember the other day when I said handle it? Well, don't. Just let it go."

My question is, why did Walt change his mind and tell Jesse to let it go?

[EVERYTHING] Book Catelyn vs. TV Catelyn

After watching all six seasons a couple weeks ago, I decided to read the book series while I wait for the return of the show. I started reading the first book today and I'm only a little over 100 pages in and mannnnn, do I hate Catelyn!!!!!!

In the show I gradually started to dislike her as the seasons went on, but in the book I loathe her by the time of her second POV. I can't wait until the Red Wedding now, just for the sake of her being gone. (Well, I guess kinda "gone" considering the Lady Stoneheart things I've seen here on Reddit)

No point to this post other than to rant, sorry. She's driving me up the wall. Hopefully she's not as much of a bitch while dead as she is alive.

I recently thought about how the Online storys that started back when The Walking Dead first started like the storage locker units and the girl with the bicycle, and was thinking wouldn't it have been better to instead of FTWD do a full seasons with different groups and with different endings and what not sorta like American Horror Story but that each story inhabits the world of The Walking Dead? hear me out, wouldn't this have been a better route than focusing on these characters? honestly I thought it would be a cool idea, and who knows maybe some of these new characters would end up on The Walking Dead, let me know in the comments about your thoughts :]

Hello fellow men of the night's watch.

I'm writing a text where I have chosen to research the differences and similarities of the medieval in Game of Thrones and the medieval time on earth. I have chosen to analyze the first book, A Game of Thrones, and the first season of the TV-series. At this very moment, I have two topics that I think are relevant to my research question. Those are: Religion and the role of the women and the man in the society. And this is where i need some help. What do you think of the topics i have chosen? Do you think those are releveant? Are there more things that i should examine? Any help is appriciated.

Third time through, and there's only one thing that is off for me.

I love the series, and it is clearly one of the best television shows ever created. One thing that bothered me on the first watch through then again on the second one and now here on the third, is that so much happens inside of one year. It's something that constantly plagues so many television shows, I wish that BB would have escaped it. One year spans episode one season one, to episode one season five. Even two years would be more plausible. Does this bother anyone else?

I may have missed something, but i was wondering why Dwight setup the doctor to be killed with the Goodbye note. Did the doctor do/say something that provoked it? Or did he do it purely to keep attention off himself?

Also, why would Negan believe a ploy like that so easily? They found a small piece of paper saying Goodbye, Honey in his desk so clearly he must be guilty? Did Negan have any other reasons to think the doctor was affiliated with what happened, or was he just someone still new to the Sanctuary and therefor Negan never fully trusted him?

Appreciation of both Daryl's and Eugene's stories at The Sanctuary. (RECENT SPOILERS)

Just a shower thought, we've now had two episode focussing on both Daryl and Eugene struggling to maintain life at Sanctuary. Now what this post is about is, how most of us probably thought Daryl would make a good soldier for Negan, he's a rough and tough redneck, quick on the trigger and hard headed when faced with adversity. Even if he was just putting on a front for Negan, Daryl being part of Negan's army made sense. If we saw him as an extra we wouldn't bat an eyelid. Daryl struggled at Sanctuary and refused to conform to the point in which it broke him. Lucky for him though, Sherry provided him with an escape.

Fast forward to Eugene being taken to Sanctuary, a character we would expect to break instantly, an inverted "nerd" scared of violence and of the world in general. That alone writes itself to Eugene not being able to survive under Negan's rule. Except, Eugene is kinda flourishing. The guy has found his place (we're debating whether he's truly conformed or not) and is using his intelligence and cunning to keep himself alive. It's such brilliant role reversing and really smart on the part of the writers. We give them crap sometimes for inconsistencies and sometimes just plain bad writing, but they know their characters well and make them ever so subtle.

So good job writers!

Final battle

I know there's a minute chance of this happening, but..

At the end of season 8, everyone in Westeros is aware of the WW threat in some way. They've been squabbling but they unite.

We see a collection like no other, the 7 kingdoms rally together(thanks to Dany, Sansa & Tyrions politics). Arya, Jon, Brienne, Tormund, The Hound, Jaime, Bronn, Beric, Jorah etc all the characters fight with a huge army vs the wight hordes.

Eventually its just the main characters left to square off against a small army of White Walkers.

All main characters die one by one (save a few like Arya & Brienne) until Jon finally stabs the Night King, who also stabs him too.

War is over, humanity is safe, but the losses are beyond count. Enter a new age of cunts killing each other for a chair made of swords...

[Everything] Character Reunions in S7

What character reunions are you hoping to see this coming season? I think it's hard not to be excited for the Stark kids, but I listed a few I hope we get to see too:

Jon & Tyrion - Tough to say if it happens this season or ever. But considering how Jon came to respect Tyrion after his visit to the Wall, I would love to see them reunite. Maybe after Dany conquers the South and heads North???

The Hound & Sansa - Sansa is a completely different character now after all the horror she's gone through. Would be really interesting to see how she reacts to seeing the Hound again, and how he reacts to seeing the woman she's become. This could happen if the Brotherhood goes North like Thoros mentioned

Theon & Jon - A bit of reach that this happens I think. Honestly who knows what direction Theon and Yara go after joining Dany but this would be tense AF considering all Theon did to the Starks and Winterfell.

Pod & Tyrion - I love Pod. Hands down one of my favorite characters. Imagine how Tyrion would react to seeing a grown up, bad ass Pod?!

Who else are you hoping to see meet up this season? (Written on mobile, excuse any spelling errors)

[SPOILERS S7E11] The final words of the episode and their significance.

"I'm Eugene, you're Dwight. We are Negan."

Such an excellent choice for final words of the episode spoken by Eugene here, for a number of reasons. The episode is predominantly about Eugene and Dwight and focuses on their transformation from 'who they were' to 'Negan', essentially. It focuses on their abilities to hide their true selves and true allegiances/feelings and essentially dupe their way into the ranks of the Sanctuary.

Eugene: Let's not forget that Eugene's true self is a timid, terrified high school teacher. Yes, he's intelligent, but he's nowhere near the triple-PhD Human Genome prodigy he claims to be to Negan. He paints the picture with everyone he meets - a scientist and doctor with endless abilities to solve problems and an indispensable person to have around. The episode shows how he uses his intelligence to move from being the outsider to very much an insider. The poison plot was especially important here, as we see Eugene suss out the wives' intentions (and explain to them exactly that) with next to no effort. He sits playing the videogame, explaining it like it's the most simple, mediocre plan in the world. Compare this to Daryl: when he was thrown a bone in the first half of the season - the cell door left unlocked before being ambushed in an attempt to break his spirit - he fell for that hook, line and sinker. Eugene does in this episode to Negan what he did to Rick and Abe before him. He cons him into believing the facade. This is interesting because it shows how Eugene adapts to these situations and how he earns the trust of people around him. He can't assert his dominance in any other way, he has to use his brain and ability to read people to survive.

Dwight: As much as this episode focuses on Eugene pretending to be someone he isn't, it also focuses on Dwight and how he has also pretended to be someone he isn't. We've learnt quite a lot about Dwight and his backstory, how Negan took his wife from him and forced him to be subordinate. We learn that every terrible thing Dwight does is not because he's a terrible person, but because he was trying to protect his wife. The scene in the house helps to paint this picture more effectively and illustrate how Dwight has changed. The letter Dwight reads even explicitly lays this out; "I love who you were, not who you are" (or something to that effect). In the same way Eugene engineers his own persona for Negan etc., using his intelligence to solve problems and talk his way out of situations, Dwight has engineered his by being the 'brutal foot-soldier' for Negan; hunting down and killing various people throughout the seasons for him in order to gain and keep his trust. Dwight is made to admit that his wife doesn't mean anything to him, that he's happy Negan now has her for a wife and, in this episode, that he "isn't sorry" when he tells Negan he killed her. All of which is, of course, not true.

The final scene is very telling. Dwight is almost the opposite to Eugene in terms of a 'right-hand man' figure to Negan, yet he's actually quite similar, which makes them overlooking the Sanctuary together a very interesting image. They are both stood, assuming their respective personas, which we all know are lies. Dwight isn't really a cold-blooded killer who relishes murdering people, and Eugene isn't really (what he tells Negan) "Negan 100%, even before I met you". Telling him this is Eugene's (excellent) way of reading and exploiting people - he reads Negan's biggest weakness to be his hubris and exploits this perfectly - in the same way he banked on Abe, a proud, strong soldier, to want to follow through with his plan to 'save the world'. I believe Eugene has also sussed out Dwight. He knows the difference between bad people and good people doing bad things to survive, which makes this final scene all the more poignant.

"I'm Eugene, you're Dwight. We are Negan."

At first watch, it's easy to just read this statement as Eugene doing what he does best - reading the situation and understanding it alongside his over-complicated manner of speaking. Almost like he's seeing Dwight as a potential friend and reaffirming to him both his name, and the fact he's now 'Negan' to try and earn his trust. However, I don't think this is true at all and there's much more to this than meets the eye. The whole episode was about these two characters doing what they can to survive and assuming personalities which aren't who they truly are. The 'Eugene' and 'Dwight' that are referenced here relate to their true selves - before Negan. Who they were. Eugene explicitly highlights this in his statement - "I'm Eugene, you're Dwight" - firstly an admittance that Eugene knows Dwight isn't truly bad and secondly a reminder to them both of their past selves. He's telling Dwight that they are who they were and always will be. Stating "we are Negan" is purely an affirmation of the story they've both created. Neither truly are Negan, but Eugene is essentially saying, "Remember, we're both who we always have been, but while we're here in the Sanctuary, we're Negan".

I love Gale

I'm on my first re-watch and God, Gale is just such a great character! Such a good guy! In this show full of greys and darker greys, it's nice to have someone who is just a plain good guy in the mix.

Of course, it ends how you'd expect for that kind of guy....

[MAIN SPOILERS] Syrio Forel Discussion

Syrio Forel - is he dead? The last scene cuts out of him vs Meryn Trant, but no where in the show does it say that he is dead. And knowing GRRM (looking at you Hound), there is a good possibility that he is dead, considering he wasn't killed directly in a scene.

What do you guys think?

[Main Spoilers] Why I support Cersei Lannister

I want Cersei on the Iron Throne. I want her to keep it.

I want Cersei on the throne because she is there already. For the same reason, I wanted Tommen, Joffrey and Robert to stay there before her.

None of what these people did warranted a war.

Many will object that Joffrey was a monstrous sadist who would have caused more trouble. An assassin did a better job than any army laying the land to waste and tearing its people to shreds. This is a simple truth Ned Stark supporters do not seem to consider.

I reject Daenerys for the same reason I rejected Renly, Stannis and Robb before. They all came with a big war hammer to bring a solution to a non-problem.

This story was written by a convinced pacifist. Amongst many other things, it is about the damages of war and the false beliefs of men. It portrays grey characters with mostly defendable or at least understandable motives. It makes its readers feel for nearly all of them and shows how good and bad intentions can lead to disaster. The horrifying War of the Five Kings started on a petty motive: the prince was thought not to be the natural son of the king. So what?

What better development to this principle than to have the two “heroes of Ice and Fire” engage with the best of intentions in a useless war of their own, one to "liberate" an already free land, the other to defend it from a likely fantasised threat? I like the idea that White Walkers have no intent or means to cross the Wall; they are like cows grazing behind a fence. Open it and they’ll come through but they have no invasion plans. As to Westeros, it needs to be freed from wars, not given a new one.

In the end, the author will be bitterly sneering at his readers, telling them: “Look at you well-meaning fools, all you know is war. Will you ever learn?”

The show is not explicitly bringing this message. It keeps it concealed and presents the wars that the Starks and Baratheon brothers started as seemingly justified. It also presents the war Daenerys brings to Westeros as the desirable deed of a hero, shows Tyrion as an all-around good guy and Varys as an agent of the “common good”, but are they, really? Is the show merely capitalizing on the naivety of the masses, giving them shiny heroes to “root” for and figurines to buy or will it come at the very end with a cold shower and still make the point that it was all for nothing?

I hope it will.

Long may she reign!

[Everything] Varys' Motivations and the Show

So obviously Varys' motivation are a common topic of discussion and I think the video by altshiftx (link provided below) is important for anyone to watch to understand them. I guess theres 3 summed possibilities to Varys motivations. The common idea that many people believe in is that Varys truly just wants a stable realm and believes Daenerys is the key to that, which I guess is what the show will go with. Another is that he's just a Targaryen loyalist which has too many holes because he worked against Rhaegar and may have helped Aerys II fall into madness. And then the detailed theory provided in the video that really explains everything is that he is secretly a Blackfyre supporting his own family's claim. To me, this theory makes the most sense and I believe thats where the books will go. The major problem is that the Young Griff/Aegon storyline is essential to this, and the shows simply don't have the time to create this storyline. Wouldn't it be a bummer if this theory is true about Varys, and isn't included in the shows. It would be the makeup for his entire character, and would explain every move he ever made. Would the show really rob the viewers of that? I'm not really sure what I'm getting at here but I just wanted to hear thoughts/opinions on what everyone thinks is really going on w/ show Varys in comparison with the books. Also predictions on what may happen.

Why couldn't Walt just explain that Gus' business made them safe, at the expense of money?

Jesse complains that Gus will make $96m off of their work, and Walt says to not complain. Gus' distro chain required so much infrastructure, that every job was important. Yeah they made more dealing themselves, but at what cost? Combo died, Badger was caught selling, and they had to deal with that, Jesse had to deal with 'breakage' to keep his rep etc. Gus' operation gave them seemingly no risk, compared to the reward they received. I understand Jesse being so short sighted, but Walt would usually explain something like this to make sure Jesse isn't going to go wild.

Dalton Ross from EW AMA: Ask Me Anything About The Walking Dead

Sorry I was late. Thanks so much for inviting me to do this Walking Dead AMA. I’m sure some — okay, many — of you are probably wondering: Who the hell is this guy? I’ll try to give you a bit of background on myself. I’ve been covering The Walking Dead for Entertainment Weekly Magazine and EW Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) since the show launched. I go on set a few times every season, was a walker for the first scene of season 2 (which was infamously cut after Frank Darabont was let go), a Talking Dead guest in season 3, and have interviewed the cast so many times they are no doubt incredibly sick of me by now.

I’ve been very fortunate to get to work closely with what is an extraordinarily talented, generous, and kind cast and crew. Anyway, I’ll try to answer any questions you guys may have about the show, the folks that make it, any behind-the-scenes stuff I am allowed to share, and whatever else is on your mind. (If you follow my Survivor coverage, you can also see the AMA I did over on that subreddit.

In any event, I’m really psyched to geek out with you all and will do my best to answer as many questions as I can with as few typos as possible (but I will sacrifice some in the interest of speed, so please be forgiving). Okay, let me just put down my pickle jar and Yars’ Revenge Atari 2600 controller and let’s do this!

[No spoilers] book and television show

Hello everyone,

I'm sure this question gets asks a ton and I apologize, but I'm afraid to search for the topic on this subreddit for fear of being spoiled!

Today, I finished reading ADWD and simultaneously I'm watching the show up to where I left off reading.

Has it been mentioned at all that the last TV seasons will be basically the same as the book? I'm torn because It's going to kill me to watch them if they are the same, but I know they will get spoiled if I don't (and waiting for book 6 and 7 may kill me as well)!

Thank you and sorry for the potential repost!

Prediction for Season 3 (spoiler)

Jimmy is dead in the water. Chuck has got him by the proverbial balls regarding the tape. In a last desperate move to save his career (and Kim's?), Jimmy will...play the Rebecca card.

Now, what 'playing the Rebecca card' entails, I don't know. All Jimmy is looking for is a way out. But it will cause Chuck to totally lose it. Chuck will go full potato...or maybe even commit suicide. One of the themes of this show is how Jimmy's actions lead to unintended bad consequences and I can see Rebecca coming back to haunt Chuck in a bad bad way. Whatever happened to his marriage, it's obviously a subject nobody likes to talk about.

Anyway, I'd like to see Rebecca come back. I liked the actress. She was Anne Cusack, older sister of John and Joanne.

This Saturday I attended the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, which I would highly recommend to anyone that can attend. During the concert I saw a member of the chorus with glasses on and it just didn't seem right. It dawned on me that no characters that I can remember wear glasses in the TV Show. I am assuming glasses just either are not prevalent in the universe or just were not invented at all. The more I watch..

the more aspects of the show I come to deeply appreciate.

I'm re-watching for the sixth time and I'm amazed that every time I watch it, I notice more things that I love.

I apologise if these are commonly mentioned, but these were a couple of things I noticed -

I think it's 01x05, when Skyler is speaking to Marie and Hank about Walt's cancer and how he is refusing treatment. This is when she suggests the intervention with the 'talking pillow'. What I loved was, even though it was likely not purposeful, in this scene she says "We're a family". It made me think of nearer the very end of the show when Walt screams "WE'RE A FAMILY" at Skyler and Walt Jr. It's just the contrast of the situation that got me. It really highlights how much things change in less than 2 years.

Another thing that got me is how Jesse unknowingly idolises Walt from the moment they start working together. I just got up to the episode that Jesse and Badger work together and I loved seeing the happiness in Jesse's eyes when he was telling Badger the difference between the beaker and the boiling flask. Even though it was in bad circumstances, Jesse was eventually learning something and he was passionate about it, he was interested in the science and chemistry behind it. When the batch was done, he was annoyed and upset that it came out differently to Walt's. I think nearer the beginning, when stuff was still decent enough for the pair of them, Jesse really warmed to Walt. Obviously nearer the end, he despises him. However nearer the beginning I really think he starts to replace his own father with Walt in his mind.

What have you noticed during your re-watches that make you love the show more?

[EVERYTHING] The Grand North Conspiracy can be explained by stating the credo, "The North Remembers", and the North remembers there is always a Stark in Winterfell.

Recently a video explaining the Grand North Conspiracy was linked here to reddit, Link here One of the ideas behind it which was thought to debunk the theory, was that it would be hard for houses of the North to convey messages in secrecy. Here's my .02 cents about this idea.

Let's say the conspiracy is as old as the saying, "The North Remembers", the idea could be ancient, passed down through the generations, when and if he time comes, The North will remember, and restore a Stark to Winterfell. If this is the case, simply stating the credo would connect a house to this idea. The North would not have to rely on contacting one another because they would expect fellow northerners to recognize the need, and step into position when the time arises.

[No Spoilers] Do you think GoT should expand past the show or stay as a standalone thing?

Star Wars was originally just 6 movies (a smaller run time than GoT) but since the Star Wars universe had a huge history, and lots of room for future stories, and even bigger fanbase, it ended up with dozens upon dozens of different books, comics, video games, movies and TV shows which are all "canon". Do you think Game of Thrones should start and begin with the event of ASOIAF or do you think it would be alright if fans began writing canon books about past events (a book/movie about Aegon the Conqueror, or Valyrian Doom, or Robert's Rebellion) or future events (set 10 years after, or 100 years after) or should it start and finish with the show and the 7 books.

[MAIN SPOILERS] Pilot Episode surprisingly good on rewatch.

With the long excruciating wait for season 7. I decided to do a bit of rewatching and not having seen the pilot episode for a more than 5 years I decided it was probably a good call. And I have to say, the pilot episode really knocks it out of the park with the way the stage is set up for the show knowing all that I know now. There is so much going on and it does it so well. It shows the dynamic of the Stark family really well, it sets up the Lannisters as antagonists brilliantly, and most importantly sets the stage for the central mystery of the first season really well with regards to Jon Arryn's death. It's also quite interesting to see how certain characters are so different to what they are now particularly Jaime, Sansa and Dany.

Might not be rated as highly as Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards or The Winds of Winter but it's a very solid episode that doesn't get enough praise. Definitely worth a rewatch.

Netflix 'New Releases' section is useless

There never seems to be anything really new, under this catagory!?

Right now, I've got Spock, Trevor Noah Special, Santa Clarita Diet, and Zootopia as the top 4 newest. It seems like they have been there a while, at least a few weeks.

I also see Kimmie Schmidt in the top 10. Newest shows are last year, and new episodes dont come out until May. How is it new?! Same for Master of None...

Grrr. Netflix, don't make me hunt for the truly new, please!

[Everything] Absolute favorite quote for each character:

I always like seeing people's different opinions. When I think of a character, these are the lines that come to mind first for me.

Robb - "Tell Lord Tywin winter is coming for him. 20,000 Northerners marching south to find out if he really does shit gold."

Bran - "It wasn't for the murder that the Gods cursed the Rat Cook, or for serving the King's son in a pie. He killed a guest beneath his roof. That's something the Gods can't forgive. "

Catelyn - "And he lived. And I couldn't keep my promise. And everything that's happened since then, all this horror that's come to my family... it's all because I couldn't love a motherless child."

Arya - "Anyone can be killed"

Sansa - "You're going to die tomorrow lord bolton"

Theon - "My real father lost his head at King's Landing. I made a choice... and I chose wrong."

Euron - "I am the storm brother"

Yara - "Fuck justice, then. We'll get revenge.."

Jon Snow - "My watch has ended"

Tormund - "He needs us, and we need him"

Brienne - "Oathkeeper"

Dany - "Tyrion Lannister, I name you hand of the Queen"

Jaime - "There are no men like me. Only me."

Cercei - "When you play the game of thrones you win or you die"

Tyrion - Blackwater speech

Tywin - "You are being counselled at this very moment"

Roose - "The Lannisters send their regards"

Ramsay - "I am Lord Bolton"

Bronn - "Careful now, wouldn't want to get blood on your pretty white cloak"

Davos - "Now, go fail again"

Stannis - "Go on, do your duty"

Jorah - "Let me fight for her"

Daario - "I hope the old man is better with a sword than a lie"

Varys - "I serve the realm my lord, someone must"

Littlefinger - "Chaos is a ladder"

The Hound - "Safety?, where the fucks that"

AMA Tomorrow (Feb 27) at 7pm EST: Dalton Ross from EW (Behind the scenes)

We're pleased to announce Dalton Ross, author at Entertainment Weekly and long-time Survivor blogger/insider, for an AMA tomorrow at 7pm EST here at r/TheWalkingDead.

He has been involved with the show since the early seasons and has lots of behind the scenes experience to share. Lately he has been nice enough to provide some OC with the short Q&As on Sunday and offered to do a AMA.

Short info:

Been on set tons, usually twice a season (including ep 715) and know all the cast very well. Was a guest on Talking Dead back in season 3. They turned me into a zombie for the show back in season 2 for the infamous opening scene that was cut and never aired, and I've hosted lots of stuff with cast/producers before.

His username is /u/thedaltonross .

You can follow him on Twitter (@DaltonRoss) or Instagram (TheDaltonRoss).

THIS ISN'T THE AMA

Am I the only one who thinks Fear the Walking Dead's character lack common sense?

I never saw Fear the Walking Dead so Ive been catching up on Season 1 and 2. But I cant help but feel the characters are borderline retards or behaving willfully idiotic.

Example 1: For about two episodes, one of the radios on the boat was in the hand of a teenage girl who is giving out litterally every bit of information on the boat and it passengers to anyone who has a working radio. Even after the passengers find out she is giving out information - she is allowed to continue using the radio. WHY? Why is the radio in the hands of a teenager and not on the bridge or with the captain? Even if there is a built in radio on the boat, why is she allowed to continue to put the boat at risk with the spare radio? Wheres the common sense?

Example 2: The passengers on the boat keep wanting to stop to "save" people but dont even have enough supplies to take care of themselves long term. And when anyone tells them no, they complain with some variation of an excuse to the effect of "I cant live with myself if I keep abandoning people" or "We cant keep leaving people behind". My reaction is always - "OK THEN GET OFF THE BOAT THEN B**** IF YOU DONT LIKE IT! ITS NOT YOUR BOAT - YOU DONT MAKE THE DECISIONS!" I mean how do they think they are supposed to take care of others if they cant even take care of themselves?

Example 3: Someone will always say something to the effect of "Dont get seperated" or "stay together". And yet one of the first things to happen is that one of them will get sepeated or not stay together. Or one will just walk off somewhere and not say anything to the others. Why? They litterally have no common sense at all

Tl;DR The characters just are plain idiots because they refuse to use their brains to solve problems or acknowledge risks or even refuse to accept the truth even when its practically smacking them in the face. Am I the only one who notices this?

I'm genuinely interested in the reasoning behind the decision for American television networks to allow "Fuck" to be said uncensored now in commercially based prime-time television.

Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT offended. I'm just interested because I grew up watching the shock on people's faces to hear PG-13 profanity fly on FX with The Shield in 2002. The fact that "goddamn" and "bullshit" got past the American censors were surprising. Now in 2016 it seems like the "Fuck" barrier was broken and I'm happy to see that.

It began with FX giving one "fuck" in American Crime Story and led to Mr. Robot giving several fucks throughout their season on the USA Network. Soon after Atlanta and Taboo on FX continued just using "fuck" casually without any censors. Now SIX on the History Channel allows "fuck" to be said uncensored as well. Sure, AMC let Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and others slip by with a muted "f__k" in their shows, but I'm talking about full-on unadulterated, unvarnished fucks being dropped on prime-time cable television. Obviously the FCC doesn't regulate cable channels, but when exactly and why did sponsors quit caring about the dreaded F bomb?

As an American audience member essentially we've been taught that it was off-limits to curse at all on TV. Like I said earlier, we had just gotten over "shit" and "goddamn" just a few years earlier, so I'm just surprised we got over it and am interested in learning when this was just gotten over.

Just to reiterate, it's not a complaint. I just find it interesting that starting in 2016, American TV networks have gotten through the "Fuck Gate Milestone" in allowing adult language on commercial TV.

Taboo

Hello guys! So Ive finally watched Taboo series! Ive learned about it a while ago and was really interested by the concept so Ive made a decision not to watch episodes one by one each weekend but rather watch it all at once. And I have to say that it is (in my opinion) one of the best short TV series I have ever watched! The "chess game" that James Delaney plays from the start to the very end is amazing! Overall tone and style of how the story is told is entertaining and devouring. If you havent watched it yet, DO IT! For those who did - what is your opinion? P.S.: Tom Hardy is absolutely amazing in the role of James Delaney!

[No Spoilers] The bittersweet aspect of the off-season that you should be paying attention to

We are all desperate for Season 7 to arrive. Personally, amidst my desperation I've been constantly estimating the number of days until the premiere, both optimistically and conservatively (optimistic = early June, conservative = early July), however I'm also constantly reminded of something. As much as I'm longing for the first episode of Season 7, considering there won't be 10 episodes I know that Season 7 will go by extremely quick.

So we have a dilemma here. Given the choice between waiting until the summer or watching Season 7 Episode 1 tomorrow, we would all bust out our Arbor Red and watch the fuck out of 7x01 tomorrow night. But 7 weeks later the depression will kick back in.

The point I'm trying to make is don't take these last 3-4 months of the offseason for granted. One of the beauties of the off-season is that the hype never dies. In the back of our minds we know that new episodes are coming soon, even if they will take many months. But once the season is over, the hype dies a bit.

There are so many things we all can do to pass the time while simultaneously filling the Westeros-sized hole in our hearts. Start the books. Re-watch the show until your eyes start to hurt. My personal recommendation is to check out YouTube channels like Blind Wave or FilmBuff to watch GoT virgins go through the Westerosi journey alongside a true man of winter to guide their journey.

We are almost there guys. Only a few more months. But like I said, a few more months isn't such a bad thing if you change your perspective a bit!

Just rewatched the end of season 5 and have a short question.

So towards the beginning of season 5 Beth And Daryl take refuge in a Funeral home before those cops kidnap Beth, and they funeral home is quite well maintained, so my question is do we ever find out who lived in the funeral home and kept those cabinets so well stocked? thanks in advance.

Age difference between Chuck and Jimmy?

The toxic relationship between Chuck and Jimmy reminds me a bit too much of my sister and I, who was over 10 years older than me. Chuck whilst needing Jimmy treats him like shit and Jimmy just wants his brother to genuinely support him. Their parents also seemed to overly prefer Jimmy over Chuck, and Chuck gets "triggered" (for lack of a better word) when people actually like Jimmy and he goes to great ends to mess up Jimmy's life even if it puts his own health at risk.

The age difference could explain why their parents treat the youngest as "the forever child that makes mistakes" and the older sibling as "always should be responsible" creating life long resentment... Older siblings are usually held to higher standards most of the time anyway and a big age difference can exaggerate the effect.

[Everything] What would Stannis have actually done after blackwater?

The hound tells sansa that Stannis would allow his men to rape and murder her. Most of the other conversations imply that Stannis would kill everyone named Lannister, all of their former advisers, and likely Sansa as well.
I have always wondered how true this is. Stannis may be more of a soldier than a politician but he seems to have more of an understanding of politics than Robert did and certainly more than Joff.

After taking Kings Landing, he would still have to deal with the starks in the north, and whatever the Iron Islands are pulling. The last thing he would want to deal with would be an army of lannisters. He would recognize sansa as a valuable trading piece (what she was to begin with) and likey most of the lannister men as useful allies.

I think he would let Joff, Tyrion, and Cersei live in order to gain Tywin's support. Robert understood how important that was and he was a drunk idiot. Sansa would likely be kept alive in order to trade with the north, maybe for Jaime to gain more favor with Tywin and a master swordfighter back into his king's guard.

[SPOILERS] maybe.Carol post.

Ok, so in S4 E4, when Rick makes Carol leave because she is getting to murdery, she really doesn't want to. Then in season 6, she leaves of her own accord because she doesn't want to lose anybody. I love you Carol, But WTF?

Discussion: Santa Clarita Diet may be lacking in some areas but has some of the best dialogue writing I have ever seen on Television but...

I have fallen in love with this show for its really good writing and execution of said writing with the actors' direction. I don't know what it is but I find the writing and acting really fucking funny and I think the show is just really fun although I do think there are some moments where the acting loses its momentum and makes me forget about the suspension of disbelief so it could definitely be better and also could be much better with the visual direction of the cinematography. I'm no expert on any of this obviously I just feel like a show with this much good writing could have taken advantage of of some funny visual comedy. I don't know if I'm getting what I mean across very well but that's the best I could do. Maybe this video explains better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FOzD4Sfgag

I wanted to know what is the general opinion of the show. I feel like it's really good but also bad at some places at the same time. Thoughts?

TWD Reddit Exclusive Q&A with Khary Payton (Ezekiel)

Hope you all are digging these exclusive cast mini-Q&As done just for The Walking Dead subreddit. (Thanks again to Ross Marquand and Alanna Masterson for doing them.) This week, we are in the presence of royalty! Khary Payton — who is killing it this season as King Ezekiel — joins us to answer a few quick questions about what is going down at the Kingdom. Thanks to Khary, and to all of you for reading. —Dalton from EW

DALTON ROSS: There is currently nothing I love more in the world than hearing Ezekiel snap “Jerry!” How would you describe the relationship between those two?

KHARY PAYTON: Ezekiel is like the coach and Jerry is the star player that has trouble focusing. Coach loves him, but he has to use that tough love at times. Ezekiel wants Jerry to serve the same purpose that Shiva does. He wants him to exude this intimidating presence when representing the Kingdom. But instead of scowling and growling, Jerry throws out that big happy smile and a silly pun. He's not an actor. He can't pretend to be surly. That's part of why we love him though.

DALTON: So does Zeke have a crush on Carol or what? And can I call him Zeke, or does the king not take kindly to that?

KHARY: Yeah, I think he's got a little crush on her, and no. No, you can't call him Zeke.

DALTON: Norman Reedus told me he’s jealous of your tiger. What about Daryl Dixon makes YOU jealous?

KHARY: The crossbow, the motorcycle and fact that he's been on this show 6 seasons longer than me!

[Everything] Create your own season 7 scenaro

Time to get creative. If you were writing season 7 what scene /scenario would you add to it?

Here's mine:

The scene takes place at Dragonstone, earlier in the day Jon had arrived at Dragonstone and had met Danerys for the first time. It is late in the evening, Jon and Ser Davos go for a walk on their own talking about the days events. They're walking along the beach when they stop and look over the sea in front of a cliff. Suddenly they become aware that they're being watched, they turn around to see three massive dragons watching them from the top of the cliff. Both men freeze on the spot and adrenaline is pumping through their veins, their minds are telling them to run but their bodies don't move. One of the dragons, Rhaegal, starts to crawl down the cliff face and then lands on the beach beside the two men and returns his gaze on them. Ser Davos becomes aware that the dragon is taking a particular interest in Jon. Jon is becoming aware of Ser Davos's voice in his ear telling him they need to move and back off slowly but Jon doesn't move. Instead he stares at the dragon and the curious dragon remains transfixed on him whilst taking in his scent. Suddenly there is a noise above them and Drogon takes off from the cliff top with a roar flying out to sea, Viserion follows him. Rhaegal not wanting to be left behind breaks his gaze from Jon, turns around and follows his brothers out to sea leaving behind two shaken but relieved men, who thought they were about to be dragon food.
