[MAIN SPOILERS] Changes throughout GOT series

So I recently binged seasons 2-7 in about 1-2 weeks (I had seen S1 a few months prior) and since then I’ve been reading up a lot on the discussion boards. One thing that I didn’t really catch while watching the show was the changes everyone complains about from S5 and on through S7? I haven’t read the books so I realize that the shift from writing with book material to writing w/o it isn’t as obvious to me, but still, I don’t understand why the latter seasons get so much flack (specifically S7). If anyone would just like to fill me in/share their thoughts

If you haven't seen 11.22.63 give it a watch.

I just started watching the Punisher and one of the characters is the guy that played Lee Harvey Oswald. I seen this show over a year ago but it's stuck with me. I think it's an extremely underrated show. Check It out!

Breaking bad is one of the only shows I've watched that I've left not wanting more.

And I mean this is the best way possible. A lot of TV shows go on for seasons, dragging on pointless and saturated plot lines. Where as breaking bad sits at a comfortable 5 seasons, with 62 episodes totaling to 50 hours of watch time, that really isn't that much for a TV show when you think about it. And not once throughout did I ever think to myself "this episode is pointless" (I'll stand by "The Fly" every time). Every episode served a purpose, and I think because of that, not only is Breaking Bad enjoyable to watch, it's honestly one of the best structured shows out there. Going back to my main point, when I finished Breaking Bad, my thirst felt quenched. It's like after finishing a good meal, you don't feel full and sick, but you don't feel hungry for more, it filled that hole. When I re-watch the show, I don't do it because I NEED more, I do it to re-live the amazing study into what makes a man evil (among other things). I apologize if this was a ramble, I haven't even watched the show in over a year (plan on re-watching soon). But this has been on my mind for a while now and am curious if anyone shares the same outlook.

tl;dr: The show was wrapped up nicely, while still resonating with me for a long time afterwards.

[EVERYTHING] What is your most 'goosebumpy' moment in the series?

Mine is Tyrion's speech where he demands a trial by combat.Tryrion actually did a splendid job to make sure he makes the most of his real life emotions play a role as well in the scene. And after that...they play the fucking rains of castamere which is just more 'goosebumpy'.

Anyways, what is your most 'goosebumpy' moment in the series?

Give me a cold open of Negan playing Karaoke and then bashing someone's face

The confession scene humazined Negan, but fuck it, that's not enough. Give me something fresh. Could be a flashback. Just surprise me, and not with god awful rocket launcher VFX.

I'm talking about a cold open that starts with Negan in a dark and big hangar. He's got a few Saviors sitting around him that look very uncomfortable, but Negan doesn't give a shit and he's dancing while singing and enjoying himself.

As a viewer you start laughing and finding the whole thing funny and silly, but then someone walks and trips over the power cord, which turns the karaoke machine off (something like that, could be anything, as long as it's someone that comes in and pisses off Negan). Then Negan takes Lucille and bashes that person's legs so that he may never walk again, i.e. never trip on the power cord again. Could even kill him. Whatever. Just something that reminds you how cold and cruel Negan is.

Intro music creeps in as he's bashing their legs. Bam. Actual intro starts.

I mean the whole thing about shifting from fun to dark is a common trope, but IMHO it would feel fresh as fuck in this show.

[EVERYTHING] The state of the armies of the 7 kingdoms.

What are the estimated numbers of men left to fight?

The North: Very Heavy losses. A few thousand men but scrapping the barrel with children and elders

The Riverlands: Heavy losses during TWOTFK but can still field an army (As seen during the siege of Riverrun)

The Westerlands/Crownlands: Very heavy losses. Danny hit them hard and they are now relying on mercenaries.

The Vale: Near to full force. They only sent a fraction of its army up north. Well armed and trained.

The Reach: Moderate losses. Tyrell army wiped out. Tarly army neary wiped out. The reach can field the most men of all the seven kingdoms. They are still at large

The stormlands: Very heavy losses. They either died at the Blackwater or at Winterfell. Non existent at this point

Dorne: At full force. They have sat idly bye. Can field a little over 20k.

If the Vale,Dorne, and the Reach joined at full, they could easily field over 80k men. The white walkers wouldn't have a chance.

Varys and Tyrion still have a lot of work to do.

Watched Better call saul after breaking bad in Binge watch

So some days ago, I finished Breaking Bad. Felt bad for walter, Hated Skyler for being the biggest greedy bitch I've ever seen, felt sorry for hank. But the characters like Mike, Saul, Gus. I had neutral feelings. I didn't felt any hatred against walt at all.

Then, I watched Better call Saul. I changed my mind in the first five episodes of BCS. I was like Saul had a very hard life! So did mike. Bob, 'Chuck's, Mike was like awesome. I got hooked immediately to it. It had Breaking Bad's vibe and style which i liked. May be one of top shows in the world in coming years. If anyone wants to watch it, I would say without any hesitation, Go for it.

[COMIC & SHOW SPOILERS] Story arcs that the show got better

While I love this show, I feel like the prison-Governor arc, Hilltop, Kingdom, Sanctuary adaptations are like a lukewarm version of their comic counterparts. I actually liked season 7 a lot, but I still felt like the hilltop was way too small, I couldn’t look past the sanctuary as the prison set, etc. Also so far AOW has been underwhelming IMO. One thing I’ll give them is that they’re developing the Saviors well.

That being said, I think that the show got certain story adaptations better than the comics:

  • Terminus turned a 2-dimensional cannibal plot into an intriguing, mysteriously plot about a sanctuary that either let you join them or would kill you and eat you. The aftermath of them following the group and killing Bob was one of the most high-intensity moments in the show to me.

  • Alexandria to me had a much better introduction in the comics. Even though they changed up some characters (Nicholas, Heath, Holly) I loved season 5 when they were adjusting to life there and you got to see Rick slowly fall back to his old ways. I feel like they fleshed out Aaron well, and he’s one of the most likable characters on the show now.

  • No Way Out. Even though I thought the Jesse/Sam/Carl shot scene was kind of sloppy on the show, overall the No Way Out story arc on the show was amazing. The intricate plot of them redirecting the herd and the Wolves attack was to me much more interesting than the single gunshot leading the herd to Alexandria like in the comics. The way the plan just kind of fell to shit in Thank You and the battle for Alexandria in No Way Out were two of the best episodes on the show.

What story arcs do you think were better in the show?

Thank you Netflix for Godless

I want to preface this by saying that generally speaking I'm not a huge fan of the western genre. I've had some films I like but in general, I wouldn't call it one of my favorite genres out there.

After seeing the trailer for Godless pop up on my Netflix feed I decided to give it a shot. I have to say that I'm so glad I did. First off, thank you Netflix for taking a chance with a limited release show. I, like many other content consumers out there, have far too many shows to watch and adding another lengthy show to my watch list usually means something else gets taken off. With a limited release schedule I knew going in that this was going to be over in seven episodes and I wouldn't be forced to make the tough call as to which shows I'd have to stop watching to make room for this one.

The characters in this show are quite honestly some of the most complex I've seen in a long time. I had my doubts that Jeff Daniels could pull off a truly villainous role but as the show progressed I realized just how complicated and interesting a character he created. Frank Griffin isn't your typical shoot 'em up bad guy from other westerns, this guy has real depth and it makes his motives all that much more interesting.

The character of Roy Goode was also very interesting and despite never having seen that actor before, I think he did a phenomenal job in bringing him to life.

When the last episode finished I felt that the story was complete, I was glad to have watched it and felt fulfilled in a way that I don't think is possible with an open-ended show. Writers and producers have to sow seeds for the next season as to intrigue viewers to come back and see the next season and with this style of story telling that simply wasn't an issue.

All in all it was well worth the ~8 hours I put into it and I highly recommend others check it out as well. The cinematography was excellent and as an added bonus its available in 4k (and looks spectacular in it).

I have thought of so many theories as to how Morgan can crossover to Fear and the only theory with no plot holes would be if Morgan takes comic Michonne's arc and just goes away for awhile after All Out War. This obviously means Fear would have to do a huge time jump which I don't want to happen at all.

It's heavily flawed for sure but at the same time it has such incredible entertainment value to me. [Everything] Stannis’ Legacy

Stannis may be gone, but I feel like a part of him lives on in Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen). Great and powerful men have been an influence on Jon: Ned Stark, Benjen Stark, Maester Aemon, Mance Rayder, Lord Commander Mormont, Stannis Baratheon, etc. While Jon has a natural sense of duty, I think Stannis’ sense of duty and conviction rubbed off on Jon, making his stronger in the process. In season 5, Stannis frequently kept observing Jon and asked him to join him, offering to officially make him Lord Jon Stark of Winterfell. Davos informed Jon that Stannis saw something in him. Melisandre affirmed the observation. Even Shireen noticed it, feeling like a disappointment when she saw how her father looked proudly at Jon (glad Stannis assured her he loved her). I got the vibe that Stannis viewed Jon as the son he wished he had. Stannis noticed almost immediately that Jon was special. I’d like to think that his stay at Castle Black had some influence on Jon and a little bit of his legacy will live on in Jon, especially with Davos as his right hand man after Stannis fell. What do you guys think? Did the books also portray the same relationship between Jon and Stannis. Would like to read your opinions.

The Walking Dead needs a REAL ending. What is it?

If this show continues on for many more seasons, eventually it should have a real ending to the story. It can't randomly end where you would already know if the story would have continued, that they would just keep on fighting the enemies and/or zombies until they die. Who the hell would accept that ending after all these years of the show? I'd rather have an ending where all the characters just straight up die. Then it's over. Which would also be pretty awful and get a lot of hate. So what's left? ... An ending where eventually the zombie apocalypse is over, all the zombies wiped out, cleaned up and buried. Or maybe even a cure. Restore the damn internet too. It needs an entire season dedicated to rebuilding the society, peace, over many years. Almost like the opposite of Fear the Walking Dead. The aftermath of the apocalypse that doesn't leave the entire earth doomed after a dozen seasons of fighting to survive. Maybe Rick would try returning to his job as a Sheriff somewhere but has some crazy PTSD and turns into a psychopath. Who knows??This show needs the world back (eventually?). Right now it's just a bunch of idiots killing each other because of their egos when they could just move to a new state or something. Anyway... How do you guys think this show should end? Or which direction should it progress? Because at this rate... I can't take much more of this back and forth between fighting random enemies and the crying drama.

EDIT: I don't care or even know what's in the comics, I don't read em.

Morgan theory

I dont know if anybody has already posted something similar, if so, mods feel free to remove it.

The last episode that we saw Morgan, he said that he couldnt take it anymore and he left, now that we know that he joined the Fear cast, lots of people are thinking that he is going to die in the mid-season finale. My theory is that he is going to take part of Michonne's storyline and that he will come back far after the war has ended as the leader of Oceanside I think(correct me if I am wrong).

These are just my thoughts, what do you guys think?

What Is Your Most Favorite BCS Montage So Far?

This show has used many montage sequences to move the plot or to make a statement about a character. Which one of them have you liked the best so far?

I have re-watched the series two times and the one towards the end of S1E02 remains my most favorite:

  • It shows Jimmy trying to make it as a lawyer/Public Defender and has got Jimmy being active and doing his lawyer thing, which is and has always been my most favorite thing about the Jimmy/Saul character (and I'm afraid the show hasn't been giving us as much of it as I thought it would).

  • It's got all those funny Mike-Jimmy interactions (stickers!). These two characters interacting and working together in any way is another favorite thing of mine.

  • I like the music of that sequence.

Which one is your favorite and why?

In Defense of the Heapsters

A bit of a disclaimer; I’m not a huge fan of the Junkyard community storyline, but I’m invested in the show and I’m in for the ride so I feel like I want to defend them a little bit. I see sooooo many complaints about them on here and elsewhere online, the main complaint is about them not really making any sense. “Why do they talk like that it’s only been 3 years” being the main complaint.

A main theme of the show now is about putting on a performance to survive and to help others survive. Ezekiel of course is a big part of this, playing the part of a king to rally downed survivors and to give them something to fight for. Carol has played many roles since arriving at Alexandria and even Negan omits this huge, menacing and domineering personality to keep his empire in check. So my question is, why is nobody giving these attributes to the Heapsters? I’ve not seen many, if any people theorize that perhaps Jadis and her crew are just doing to the same thing to make other communities wary of them and to keep outsiders on their toes around them. It seems to me that so many fans are willing to shit and I think people should be a little more open minded when it comes to them. I think it would be good for people’s enjoyment of them if they keep in mind that they much just be performing like so many other characters we’ve seen.

Just a random thought that popped into my head when considering what courses of action could be taken against the white walkers. I have thought of two possible ways that greyscale could be used to human advantage. The first would be to sacrifice someone infected with the disease by having them infect a white walker. The aim of this would be to see if the infection could be spread between all of the white walkers and eventually lead to their demise. The other would be send stonemen to fight the white walkers. However, the second possibility could potentially backfire.

Is the there a Scientology/ Walking Dead connection?

What’s up with two (that I know of) Scientologists in TWD Universe. First we had Alanna Masterson (Tara), and now I hear that Jenna Elfman is joining FTWD. Coincidence?

Looking for help from people who have read Here's Negan and are up to date with the show!

Hopefully this is okay to post here:

My Dad and I have been watching the show together since season one. I've read most of the comics, but he is only a fan of the show.

He's loving Negan at the moment and I was considering getting him the Here's Negan book as part of his Christmas present but I don't want to spoil any upcoming plot lines in the show.

I realise if they do a Negan backstory episode then the comic may be considered a spoiler, but I'm more worried about events that take place in the future of the show (e.g. what happens to Negan in All Out War, if he survives etc)

Can anyone tell me without spoiling it too much (I'll definitely be borrowing it after he's finished!) if there is anything in it that takes place after where the show is up to?

Also if you would recommend it! Thanks.

[SPOILERS S3] Question about New Mexico Law and the Estate of a certain Character

So I just finished Season 3; what an amazing experience.

Is it confirmed that Chuck died?

  • If so, is it ever revealed that he left a Last Will? What if he died intestate?

I was just wondering whatever happens to HHM's pay-out. I assume that's ~$3,000,000 each over three payments from what Howard said.

  • Do you think that Chuck cashed/deposited the first check? What happens to this amount assuming now that he is dead? Does it go to Jimmy as next of kin as Chuck seems to have died without any ascendant, descendant, and/or surviving spouse?

  • What happens to the remaining ~$6,000,000? Does it go to Jimmy too if ever?

  • Does Chuck's death cancel the obligation of HHM to pay the remainder?

Maybe I missed something?

In the scene with Tuco and Hector, didn’t Tuco take Jesse’s and Walt’s wallets with Walter’s pictures and all? And did Jesse and Walt take those back? Because if not, wouldn’t the DEA find them on Tuco?

[MAIN SPOILERS] A song for Jon x Dany shippers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=823yuWz0lto

So I played the Witcher 3 and thought this song about Geralt and Yennefer was beautiful. When I listened to it after watching Season 7, I noticed that most of the song can apply to Jon and Daenarys as well, with a bit of imagination. I tried to find if someone had thought of this before and possibly made a video compilation, but couldn't find anything. For all the Jon x Dany shippers out there, hopefully you can appreciate the song anyway. :)

[EVERYTHING] The Dark Side of Warging...

What if the Night King's control over the dead is just another type of Warging, but is considered taboo? Perhaps the reason why the Children of the Forest turned the humans into White Walkers: so they didn't have to dirty their own hands using such dark practices.

Also, Bran has shown us through Hodor that it's possible to warg into other people - I think they just have to have an inferior mind. The Night King is immortal and the humans are dead, so they shouldn't be too hard to control once you figure out how.

Additionally, this would explain how the wight in Season 1 knew to look for Lord Commander Mormont - the Night King could have been seeing through the Wight's eyes similar to how Bran saw through Hodor's or Summer's. Wights don't seem to have any substantial intelligence of their own, so there's no way one would be smart enough to understand the importance of the Lord Commander and actively look for him unless he was being controlled.

Finally, the eyes - when normal Wargs do their thing, the eyes turn white. But what if this particular form of Warging turns the eyes blue?

It's clear that the Night King does have some sort of Warging ability, as shown by how he interacts with Bran, but the question here is whether or not his necromancer powers are just another form of Warging or their own separate thing.

I'm tinfoil hatting at this point, but what if the series will end with Bran tapping into the 'dark side' of Warging and wrestling control over a portion of the Army of the Dead, in order to make them fight each other? This could distract them so Jon and crew can reach the White Walkers. Or maybe the Three Eyed Raven's destiny is to become the new Night King (not the past Night King/NK we have now, but a completely new one) in order to assume control of the White Walkers after the Night King's death and send them back north.

TL;DR: The Night King's control over the Army of the Dead might just be an advanced and taboo form of Warging, which Bran's own Warging powers could be compatible with.

They got the rpg back

You may of seen one of my links called (will ricks group get the rpg back) well guess they finally got it back. Michonne and Rosita went out of Alexandria to investigate and then they heard music and followed it to some storage facility full of food and weapons and spotted two saviors with a truck with speakers on it. Michonne accidentally kicked a ball which got the two saviors attention and then they started shooting and rosita was trying to find a weapon and she found one It was the rpg most likely the same one Abraham found in the sixth season. She used it and blew up that evil bastard to simthereens, she got that one down but the other one was getting away with speakers but suddenly luck just struck Daryl came in a big truck and ran over the female savior and shot her up. These people just keep on getting better now they got more what belongs to them and are making the world a better place to live.

What do you guys think about, I don’t own th show I just want to know your thoughts

Wanted to get some guesses from people who don't read the spoiler blogs, on who you think is gonna kick it this mid season finale. I'm thinking someone big. The show needs a good dramatic episode. I'm thinking from the group Darryl, Michonne, Rosita, and Tara that maybe two of them die in result to their stupid rogue plan.

TSDF Q&A Episode 8.7 "Time for After"

Who's ready for a late night spoilery snack? Thanks to our amazing source for bringing the goods!

Q&A Episode 8.7 "Time for After"

1.) What's happens with Rick at the junkyard?

In the opening scene, Jadis brings Rick out and takes some of her own polaroids. Rick asks what they are for, and she says "To sculpt you. After." Jadis won't say after what. (Rick would probably prefer a bleach bath as opposed to being an art piece.)

2.) Does Rick escape the junkyard crew? How?

He doesn't really escape, per se. The trash hipsters have created a Winslow 2.0 and force Rick to fight him. It seems they didn't learn the first time because of course, Rick kicks new Winslow's ass in less than a minute and beheads him. Rick then grabs Jadis and holds her head close to Winslow's head, asking her if they have a deal. She finally says "Yes." (When you gonna learn that no amount of Winslows is a match for Rick Grimes?)

3.) What do Daryl, Tara, Michonne, and Rosita decide to do?

Rosita seems to have been affected by Sasha coming out of that coffin as a walker, and so she backs out and returns to Alexandria. So does Michonne eventually. But Tara along with the assistance of Morgan, serve as lookouts and snipers while Daryl rams the garbage truck into the Sanctuary. This causes walkers to start infiltrating the Sanctuary.

4.) What is Morgan doing in this episode?

He shows up to help Daryl and Tara with their plan to attack the Sanctuary. Morgan always coming in clutch.

5.) What do Daryl & Rosita argue about?

They argue about the merits of attacking the Sanctuary. Rosita says she learned her lesson about going rogue after Sasha was killed, and she can't risk it again. She says she trusts Rick and that Daryl should too. They can't come to an agreement so Rosita leaves.

6.) What's going on with Father G? Does he escape?

No, he is very very sick (but he has not been bitten). Dr. Carson says it's a severe infection, possibly more than one. Eugene visits Father Gabriel, and he tries to convince Eugene to come back to Rick's side and "do the right thing." It doesn't work. At the end of the episode and after the Sanctuary is flooded with walkers, Eugene returns to Father G and basically tells him off. He says he will not help Dr. Carson escape the Sanctuary, he won't betray Negan, and while he may be just out for himself, he's perfectly fine with that. Eugene even says he wants Dr. Carson to remain at the Sanctuary just in case he becomes ill in the future. (Come on, selfish mulletface asshole).

7.) We know from the sneak peeks that Eugene confronts Dwight about double crossing the Saviors. Does he eventually agree to go along with Dwight or does he try to stop him?

Neither. Eugene says he won't say anything about what Dwight has done just as long as he does nothing further that could harm anyone at the Sanctuary. However, Eugene continues to remain loyal to Negan and won't hear anything of what Dwight or anyone else has to say on the matter.

8.) Does anyone die? If so, who?

A shitload of Saviors/workers when the garbage truck crashes into the Sanctuary.

9.) How does the episode end?

The episode ends with Rick leading Jadis and a group of the trash people to the Sanctuary to show them that the Sanctuary is surrounded by walkers. The plan is for Rick, Jadis, and the others to ask for the Sanctuary's surrender together. But when they arrive there is no answer on the radio from any of Rick's lookouts or snipers AND all of the walkers are gone. Some made their way into the Sanctuary when Daryl pulled his garbage truck stunt, but not all of them. So, it appears that Eugene may have come through and figured out a way to clear the Sanctuary of the walkers. Rick looks terrified when he sees this.

BONUS:

Eugene uses a device he made out a kite and iPod to try and lure walkers away from the Sanctuary. Dwight ends up shooting it down.

[COMIC & SHOW SPOILERS] How do you see The Walking Dead/Fear crossing over?

I have thought of so many theories as to how Morgan can crossover to Fear and the only theory with no plot holes would be if Morgan takes comic Michonne's arc and just goes away for awhile after All Out War. This obviously means Fear would have to do a huge time jump which I don't want to happen at all.

[SPOILER]Fear the Walking Dead/Walking Dead Crossover

Is this seriously the first post on the crossover. Have they been banned because of the whole title being a SPOILER if you have been living under a rock?

What do you think of Lenny James reaction on talking dead. He kept calling It " Fear OF the Walking Dead". He seemed incredibly stressed, over wrought, and basically gave away his death on TWD since a Fear time jump of at least 2/3 years would be impossible since it would destroy the whole story season 3 worked so hard to build.

Personally I love Morgan and Lenny James, but I'm wondering what would bring him from Georgia to Texas. In the comic Duanne is [SPOILER]( # s" fear" a zombie and chained up. Morgan sets him free and doesn't put him down) So it's possible Morgan could be tracking him, which leads him down to Texas. I really hope it's pre crazy Morgan but at this point I think the whole " I see people wearing dead people's faces" leads me to suspect the Clark's are certainly destined to become the Whisperers. I know some die hard TWD fans don't want that but I've always wanted it. Maddison just IS Alpha. I think Troy would have made a fantastic Beta since Beta needs to be devoted to Alpha yet not related to her and not in a relationship with her.

I'm crap at SPOILER tags and not sure if this will get posted so I'll leave it at this and add further comments if it works.

I found a subtle Breaking Bad reference in the narco tv series "La Reina del Sur" from Mexico

I noticed the Mexican telenovela "La Reina del Sur" (Queen of the South in Spanish) is on Netflix in the US, so I randomly started watching the first episode for fun... don't judge me, Kate del Castillo is a babe and she's the actress who went with Sean Penn to meet with El Chapo before he was recaptured.

About 15 minutes and 10 seconds into the first episode of La Reina del Sur I heard a song in the background while the couple is talking that sounded vaguely familiar. I kept re-playing the scene trying to figure out the song. Was it a famous Mexican mariachi song perhaps? Nope! It soon dawned on me that the song was "Negro y Azul" (The Ballad of Heisenberg) by the group Los Cuates de Sinaloa. The song appears in Breaking Bad season 2, episode 7 and is about Walt's drug dealing catching the eye of the cartel south of the border. The episode aired on April 19th, 2009 and is also called "Negro y Azul".

Apparently the theme song to La Reina del Sur was also sung by the same group, Los Cuates de Sinaloa. The show La Reina del Sur was originally released on February 28, 2011, showing that La Reina aired after the Breaking Bad episode, thus was paying homage to Heisenberg (El Rey del Norte, if you will) and the tv series from the US.

Netflix should have a category titled "TV shows you'll probably like but won't mind falling asleep to".

The criteria would be pretty basic: Light-hearted (cos nightmares) No loud explosions expected No canned laughter (that means no Big Bang Theory) No flashing lights expected No erratic dialogue Ideally a comedy or something similar which doesn't have an ongoing storyline from one episode to the next. At the minute my "TV show I like but don't mind falling asleep to" is Outnumbered (British TV comedy).

Nick Clark or Alicia Clark? Who do you like better as a character?

I personally like Nick better as his character is more interesting to me, i also think Frank Dillane's performance is incredible especially in season 1 when he was the recovering junkie, he really seemed to be in whitdrawal. Now i think Alycia's acting is good but Alicia as a character doesn't really have anything interesting as she's just supposed to be a teenage girl.

I know this is a random question but i would like to know what everyone else's opinion is.😀

Just finished the FtWD S3 finale.. damn. Also what's up with this subreddit?

Great, engaging finale. Edge of my seat the whole time. Haven't been so involved with a show in a while. This show definitely wins the most improved show.

Also why is everyone talking the main show here??? And what's the crossover news? Sorry, definitely behind on the times.

[SPOILERS S2] Just binge-watched Season 2 and I got to say it was an absolute delight

I finally got time to watch the show and I got to say it brought back BB memories how I just had to watch each episode right after the other. Things like Stranger Things S2 or Punisher or other recent releases didn't capture me like this.

Just wanted to ask though:

  • Was the switch in Ep. 1 just symbolism? Was it meant to show that Jimmy just can't help himself although he knows he just got this big cushy opportunity?

  • Why didn't he just run the ad through D & M? Did he really not care at that point if he would get fired or not?

  • When Mike's daughter-in-law "heard" the gunshots, was she really paranoid or something? Was she being manipulative?

On to season 3!

Positives of a time jump?

Whilst I initially thought that this would be strange, I now believe it would be an excellent opportunity for world building. For example, have a new group in the hotel, maybe even a new group which has taken over the ranch, there's quite a few potentials here and since the new showrunners are fantasy writers, this might be executed well

In the wake of the crossover reveal.....could Proctor's crew be the helicopter in TWD 8x05?

The way Gimple worded things in last night's Talking Dead I very strongly got the implication that we'll be dealing with a two or three year time-jump for Fear Season 4 that'll allow Morgan to join Team Madison after All Out War is done with.

I factor that in with how much more vast and powerful Proctor's organization would have hypothetically gotten two/three years after the Season 3 finale. He'd have expanded his trading network all across the country, likely including unknown-to-us settlements in DC/Virginia. It's very easy for me to believe that he'd have accessed a helicopter or two as well in order for his crew to move more freely around the country.

Having Morgan get flown to Houston by Proctor's crew because of DC/Virginia being among their trade routes makes a hell of a lot more sense to me than most other theories I've heard. I cringe so much at the thought of him randomly hiking 800 miles from Virginia to Texas either after the war or between Seasons 2-3.

Are you guys happy about the potential time jump? What are your thoughts on it?

The time jump is what makes the most sense and I'm honestly irrationally angry about it. I think Fear was developing nicely and I really liked most of the characters. I think this potential time jump is one of the stupidest things that could happen to this universe. It took the main show 7 seasons to move 2 years. So Gimple is just gonna throw 7 seasons worth of development down the drain for Fear? Why exactly would he do this? Just really stupid in my opinion. This also just gives him more of an excuse to hit us with shitty flashbacks constantly. I can't believe amc is gonna let this man get away with this.

Now That Everyone Has Calmed TF Down, Let's Discuss Morgan

First, I think it's important to note that when Lennie James was on Talking Dead he stated that he was shooting the next morning. A lot of people were commenting that he looked upset or angry, but he was probably just in his character's head preparing for another several weeks of shooting. Filming for The Walking Dead also JUST ENDED recently so him saying his goodbyes to Melissa likely weren't a slip up, but him actually remembering their final shooting days.

The Gimple hate train also should be stopped. Season 3 was a scorching success in terms of storytelling compared to the previous seasons. With Walking Dead's popularity tapering off since Negan arrives, they are taking the opportunity to tell a new story without being limited by the comics. Bringing Gimple in to help the show grow is a brilliant idea. He wrote some hugely memorable and iconic episodes like "A," "The Grove," "No Sanctuary," "What Happened and What's Going On," "First Time Again," and "Here's Not Here." Those are literally 6 of the top 10 episodes episodes from the most incredible bulk of the show (seasons 4 - 6). The fact that the show isn't as ingaging more has more to do with comic book adaptability than it does Gimple's ability to lead.

His movement from Producer to Supervising Producer brought us to and through the Prison arc with the Governor, which was also one of the defining seasons for the show, and probably the season that afforded TWD with the huge fanbase that it has.

Gimple also had the honor of writing Morgan back into the show and he wrote "Clear." It should have been obvious Lenny would follow him to the new show. He's been getting him checks for years.

I'd love if this sub didn't turn into a hatefest like TWD sub whenever people have set themselves up for disappointment.

Last, there are tons of ways to move Morgan to Fear. We don't know that he's moving to the show forever, and Gimple has stated very vividly that he's not leaving TWD because there's more story to tell. Morgan could simply be in a series of flashbacks that helps explain the backstory for one of the character. Strand is from the South and could have a connection with Morgan as Morgan worked in construction and Strand worked in real estate investment. Just a shot in the dark, but if you have paid attention to the show I'm sure there are some connections you could make. He could also be Jenny's brother.

Since we know Morgan is filming in Texas where Fear characters are expected to move, we have to assume there is a time jump. It's literally the only explanation unless Morgan is exclusively featured in flashbacks. It's tough to imagine a 2 year jump, so the flashbacks are more likely... but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, let's be optimistic about the show direction and try to solve the mystery.

[Everything] Cersei's Character Arc and the Valonqar

I have been thinking of the ways that GRRM could finish Cersei's arc in the most Game of Thrones way possible. He's a big fan of killing characters that dothe right thing. With all the similarities between the Mad King and Cersei I think she is going to burn everyone in King's Landing and get killed for it. Now that seems pretty expected since everyone thinks Cersei is a villain. However, I think she will set off the wildfire caches throughout the city to defend the realm from the Whitewalkers and specifically the Night King.

I think she will be outside the city walls with Jaime when the explosion happens. The army of the dead will be inside King's Landing and she will take most of them out along with a Whitewalker or two. Jaime will not realize the bigger picture of the sacrifice and will choke her out to fulfill Maggy the Frog's prophecy. We will know that Cersei has redeemed herself and Jaime will feel tremendous guilt over murdering his sister and take his own life.

I think this would be a great way to wrap up Cersei's arc as well as fulfilling Maggy's prophecy. This would also fulfill the prophecy (well kinda) of Cersei and Jaime coming into the world together and leaving it together.

Is Walt's choice of car related to his change of persona (Spoilers)?

It may be obvious, but I was rewatching some episodes, and I have never really picked up on it

He started off in a tragically ugly beige Aztek (According to Top Gear one of the worst car designs ever) sold it for nothing and brought a Chrysler 300C SRTV8 , I mean as far as changes go its basically switching from a car driven by people who probably don't care about cars, to a V8 Muscle Car. Is this meant to be a symbol of Heisenberg taking over full time towards the end, or is it just that Walt wanted a nice car but just couldnt afford it ?

Skyler interestingly does the opposite, she had a decent condition Jeep and swapped it for one of those awful fake SUVs that are all the rage now. As does Jessie, he had a sort of gaudy town car and ended up in a Tercel, which is only marginally less reprehensible to look at than the Aztec

[Everything] You have been given the ability to 'Undo' the death of one character. Who do you choose, why, and what impact do you think this will have on the overall story? (Don't say Jon Arryn.)

I personally would have had Margaery somehow survive the big explosion. I just feel like she's been through too much BS with too little happiness - bouncing from Renley to Joffrey then getting like 2 seconds with Tommen before being arrested and having to go through all that.

If she was still alive, it would stand to reason that Tommen would also still be alive. This of course means that Dany and her army would be coming for Tommen's throne, not Cersei's. Maybe Tommen would be more open to working with Dany and the rest to fight the White Walkers.

[MAIN SPOILERS] Valyrian Steel Swords Theory

First Time posting in this Sub

Hey,

I've been bingehearing In Deep Geek, GrayArea, The Last Harpy, TalkingThrones and some others (about 4 or 5 I missed) since last Saturday and I feel I have a pretty good idea on what is gonna happen with the 4 Valyrian Blades in the show and a take on Gendry and his role in this. This will fit in with quite some theories

1st of all, Gendry is working with Valyrian steel, only not with the 4 Valyrian Blades called Catspaw Dagger, Widowswail, Heartsbane, Longclaw and Oathkeeper. At least not before the war is over.

The Catspaw dagger has seen it's purpose. It is entirely possible Arya is gonna use it once more to defend herself to kill a White Walker, but the Catspaw opened in the series with a blade owned by Littlefinger, and it has killed Littlefinger. So it will probably not have a major role anymore.

Oathkeeper from Briënne will not be reforged into Ice, because Briënne still has an Oath to keep. She will probably use it to save Sansa at some point, as Arya has her own fightingskills.

Widowswail will still be in Jaime's possession until he fillfills his prophecy and complete his redemption arc. Cersei will have a miscarriage, adding to Maggy the Frog's prediction of her only having 3 children. This will send her to become the Mad Queen, as she will have lost everything. In episode 6 she will decide to use Wildfire to "Burn them all", recalling back to the Mad King, after the Night King is defeated where the Golden Company has switched sides to fight, She will say this after they are under attack. Here Jaime and the Hound step in, first killing Qyburn (the pyromancer, done by Jaime) The Hound killing the mountain with firerelated stuff, and Jaime fullfilling the Valonqar prophecy with Widowswail, as Cersei is the widow who wails.

Heartsbane of Sam is the one im least sure over, but I think it will be the new Lightbringer, pierced through someone's heart. I feel this is gonna be the hearth of Bran Stark, as he is the Nightking with the Dragonglass in his hearth, and that this happens on the Isle of Faces, whilst Bran holds his band against the Weirwood Trees who are there

Longclaw will be used in the final battle by Jon and will be part of a huge battle earlier in the season against the Nightking at Winterfell, where it will shatter. He will than get Heartsbane to do his final trick.

Back to Gendry. He is gonna make Valyrian Steel. Thanks to the books Sam has stolen, he has besides his weapon also the last major reveal by him, which how Valyrian Steel was made, which will be Dragonglass and Dragonfire. Gendry will possibly make a bunch of Valyrian steel blades for the some Maincharacters.

[EVERYTHING] Have we already seen the secret GRRM told...

Okay so in April 2016, Liam Cunningham (the actor who plays Davos) appeared on Conan O'Brien and told a story about how the first time he met George R. R. Martin, he leaned in and said "I'm gonna tell you a secret, but you can't tell anybody." You can view the clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Toam5br4lBE

It's certainly possible that the "secret" is something we've already seen, like Shireen burning (although that already happened when this show aired) or Davos helping resurrect Jon Snow. But I haven't ever seen any follow-up confirmation from Cunningham either way. Does that mean that the secret is still out there?

And if so, what do you think it is? Personally, I'm inclined to think that Davos's role in the end of things may be far bigger than we might expect otherwise.

So how would you like to see the series end. For me I think the NK and the others will be defeated mid way through the series with Jorah as Azor ahai and him forced to kill Dany in order to forge Lightbringer. Cersei and Euron are the final bads with Cersei killing Jaime and capturing and killing Sansa.

Arya kills Cersei, Jon and theon defeat Euron, all the dragons die, and Brienne dies giving birth to Jaime's child with Jon taking care of the child as Sansa would've wanted. Jon would be crowned king of the seven kingdoms not because he wants it but because it would be his duty.

[EVERYTHING] S8 Jon Snow theory (with a GRRM quote and everything)...

After watching the great video "Alt Shift X: Was Rhaegar the true hero of Game of Thrones?" that was posted up here - which has a brief discussion on whether Jon Snow is actually Lightbringer himself (not a theory I'm going to touch upon here) - it got me thinking about how the show represents magic, and what this might mean for the story in S8.

The show, while having a few fantasy elements, seems to ground itself in realism - with courtly intrigues and personal stories taking top priority, as well as showing gritty and unglamorous violence. Its approach to magic seems much the same, introducing only a few magical elements throughout the entire series and keeping them low key enough so that they don't interfere with the drama (compared to a series where magic is rife and so more or less anything can happen, undermining the dramatic stakes).

GoT has also taken pains to make its magic precedented, as moments where magic proves to be pivotal in the later seasons have already been demonstrated earlier in the show. For example, Dondarrion has been resurrected by R'hllor many times before Jon Snow is, so it doesn't feel as much like Deus Ex Machina. Likewise we've seen undead animals before Viserion is made into a wight, so this too doesn't feel terribly out of place.

Therefore given the show doesn't like to drop in new Deus Ex Machina style magic at pivotal moments, I was trying to think of how existing magic in the show could be worked into remaining unresolved storylines, especially combatting the Night King. I came up with...

What if Jon Snow dies, gets made into a wight, and then someone also tries to resurrect him by way of R'hllor too? This might overturn the Children of the Forest's magic, and or otherwise give him some sort of power to defeat the Night King. It also requires little to no exposition (which is good given the episodes will be tight for time if there's only 6 of them), as we've seen people become a wight in the show, and we've seen people being resurrected - putting those two elements together doesn't take any sort of leap for the audience.

Lastly, getting onto the GRRM quote, he said in an interview with Time magazine concerning R'hllor's resurrection, "[...] poor Beric Dondarrion, who was set up as the foreshadowing of all this, every time he’s a little less Beric. His memories are fading, he’s got all these scars, he’s becoming more and more physically hideous, because he’s not a living human being anymore. His heart isn’t beating, his blood isn’t flowing in his veins, he’s a wight, but a wight animated by fire instead of by ice, now we’re getting back to the whole fire and ice thing." Making someone simultaneously an ice wight and a fire wight seems very much an embodiment of, "He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire."

To me it matches the overall arc of Jon being the reluctant and self-sacrificing hero, and seems like a natural fit to the Azor Ahai prophecy. It's also one of those things that while it would be surprising doesn't feel unprecedented, because all those magical effects have been in the series already - they just haven't been combined in that way. In that regard the audience wouldn't feel cheated or that something had been plucked from thin air.

I'm not sure where this leaves Daenerys, maybe she makes Lightbringer by killing Viserion with something Valyrian Steel, if the old Lightbringer was made by Azor Ahai killing his wife - who knows!

What do you think to Jon Snow being wighted and revived again? What's your own personal theory about how the battle with the Night King might wrap?

[Main Spoilers] What if the white walkers summon the dead up from graveyards and crypts?

This could be extremely bad as Winterfell is known to have at least one crypt/tomb. If King's Landing also has a cemetery/graveyard then the white walkers could effectively take the city without having to breach the walls.

Anyone watch Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency?

I just started watching it and its actually pretty good. Kinda reminds me of Dr. Who without the time travel but, including the science fiction elements. If you did watch it, what did you think about it?

As of right now, FEAR is only 1.5 years behind TWD

TWD at 610 days. FEAR at 64 days.

That is a difference of 546 days. Year is 365 days. Which leaves 181 more days.

So that is essentially a year and a half behind, give a few weeks from Season 8.

So a time jump won't be that drastic. They can do a montage of traveling with a 3 minute song of passing time, different hair styles to have us arrive in Austin. Sort of a recap and reintroduction of the FEAR 4, a small reboot for everyone.

Walt's parents....

Always found it interesting that they never dove into Walts parents and his upbringing. They touch on his last memories of his father being sick and dieing when he's talking to Walt Jr, which gave the feeling that it was something Walt was emotional about. But him and Skyler trade a couple convos that seem to show that the relationship isn't good with his mom. I kinda like how they kept it as an unknown about Walts life. Any theories as to what went down with his mom?

"Morgan’s arc on The Walking Dead Season 8 positioned him for the story on Fear."

To me, this is proof that there will be a time jump in FEAR.

Why would his arc position him for a story that takes place in the PAST? It wouldn't. It can only position him for something that will happen in the FUTURE. Which means, after the war, Morgan leaves the group. He has to "find his way" or "find a cure" and is just done with this particular group. That he can't live with them anymore after what has happened. So, off to find new adventures.

Also, logistically, this CANNOT take place in the past because it would confuse viewers. How is Morgan on this show while this other show is going but it is the past and now he is there?? That would be too jarring. Thus, FEAR will make a huge time jump with our 4 main characters.

Expect Morgan to have a very specific, new outlook on life on Fear, different from where we knew him on TWD. His motivations will have to be very different from what we have seen before. Count on it.

Mark my words, this is 100% a time jump for FEAR.

Morgan theory

Just seen a video on YouTube about Morgan potential being part of the whisperers who could in fact be some of the FTWD cast? This would explain the crossover and would actually tie in really well I think, Any one else agree or have other theory's? I really don't see how they would tie this all in any other way!

He could potentially of ran into them between seasons 1-3 and then when the time skip happens after all out war here they are again and Morgan is with/part of there group after maybe leaving at the end of season 8, it's either that or he's kicking the bucket at the end of this season I don't know lol! What do you guys think?

Loplop, s02e08 of Fargo, is absolutely amazing. It took the most unlikeable characters and turned them into the highlights. *spoilers*

I know I'm super late to the table on this one, but goddamn, I needed this episode of television. Everything from Hanzee somehow becoming sympathetic while remaining a terrifying force, to Peggy and Ed becoming autonomous players in the game, and Dodd, actually showing fear and being taken down a few pegs by people who are pretty much nobodies. Hysterical episode while also being filled with tension. Kristen Dunst completely embracing her characters psychosis, stabbing Dodd nonchalantly and feeding him beans he didn't want while he is terrified.

This is an episode that I feel should have fallen flat and been weak in premise, but ended up being one of my favorite episodes of a show that isn't a season ending episode. 10/10

I noticed last night while rewatching S4E1 that Oberyn claims that "Rhaegar left her [Elia] for another woman"(https://youtu.be/eSgYZksIoUw?t=184) when talking with Tyrion. It seems to be a weird description of what everybody seemed to believe was a kidnapping but we actually know as an anullment and remarriage. Did Oberyn know more than everybody else?

The WILD FIRE timeline [spoilers]

With the character cross over announcement everyone has become self proclaimed expert on the timelines. However all of these experts are forgetting about the wild fire timeline Dr Gener gave us.

Most people on reddit try to match the fear timeline to when Rick wakes up from the coma. What if we put fear's timeline closer to when wild fire is declared, 6 months before Rick wakes up? Everything would change.

Out of the show there are quotes about the timeline that we use. Those quotes mean nothing, in the comics the editors letters are filled with lies. There have also been lies in talking dead.

Forget matching the fear timeline to Rick's coma, start looking at the timeline of wild fire.

Here's what I think is going on...

AMC has been unhappy with the performance of Fear The Walking Dead and want to create a jumping on point for new viewers. Timeline wise, it makes no sense for Morgan to be able to meet up with the FTWD people before he comes to Alexandria, and by the way they spoke about it at talking dead, it seems like Morgan is leaving Rick and company at the end of season 8. Most likely meaning we're in for a big time jump on Fear the Walking Dead that will be intentionally separated and unrelated to 90% of whats already happened on Fear so new viewers can follow whats happening + with a character they already like. I don't think this will work though. I think this will just only piss off fans of the first 3 seasons, and fail to bring in extra viewers because the main show is already a sinking ship anyway.

American Ninja Warrior vs Japanese Ninja Warrior

So I used to love watching "Sasuke" or Japanese Ninja Warrior. It was an amazing show, back when it was on G4. But the American Ninja Warrior is just so slow. They literally spend more time on people's sob story backstory than actually showing people run the course. The japanese version didn't care, you might of gotten a backstory segment once you made stage 3 or something at best. Other than that it was people constantly running the course, you know the reason people want to watch the show. Its just a problem with american shows that have contests. I actually like watching Guy's grocery games but every show has some sob story on why they need the money. Can't one guy be like I just like money and want to win some.

[S4] One thing I don't get about Tyrion being accused of ...

killing Joffery is that, what was stopping Cersei from having him killed right there? Why did she need to go through a trial? There would be nobody there to fight for him, except for possibly Jaime. and Oberyn only fought for him to get the chance to kill Gregor. Even if she did go through with it, it's not like something like killing an innocent hasn't happened before in GoT and nobody cared. Plus, they could even wave it off as though he was definitely guilty; neither of them cared about being a kinslayer considering they wanted him dead anyway. What was stopping Cersei from saying "Kill him, kill him" instead of "take him, take him"?

I feel as though I'm missing something.

Crazy Idea: Breaking Bad sequel called 'Broken' following Flynn following his uncle path

The first scene would be Marie helping Skyler choose a dress/make up/jewel for her book presentation about Heisenberg rise and fall. They have a regular sister talk we are acustomed, with Skyler holding a big secret, she didn't wrote a word from that book.

It was written by ghostwritters on commission from the editorial who didn't trusted Skyler with the job. They paid her handsomely for the honor thou.

Next scene is Flynn reading the book his uncle gave him, you can see the book wore off, with several stickers on it and pencil marks from all the details Flynn has been working over the years. We realize its been 6 years since the breaking bad finale.

Flynn then leaves the bus, enters the police station where his uncle used to work, today he start working... as assistant. Flynn tried to apply even when he was still in college but he was not even allowed to present the physical test, leaving his frustrated and angry he settles for a menial job convincing himself its just a first step.

Back to the presentation we see skyler walking next to Holly who is showing signs of autism, the reason she barely cried when she was a baby. They enter the presentation and everything goes normal, skyler's agent gives her an speech which was written for her by one of her ghost writters and during the Q&A she tells an small story about walt behavior.

after the event is over skyler is scolded by her agent for going off the script and possibly contracting details written in her book putting the book, the editorial and his credibility in danger.

Marie still lives alone, still in love with hank being unable to get over him and comparing every men she meets with the hero hank is in her mind (and he really was).

now out of the white family.

jesee parents are going through divorce and fighting the youngest son custody teeths and nails. Both too focused on his future leave him to his own most of the time. we see him researching on his brother and the chemical formula designed by Heisenberg.

Kaylee is on the foster care system, seems to be going well, the new family seems to take care of her but she is way more reclusive and quiet than she used to be, being 16 right now she is going through an emo/punk phase.

Finally the episode ends with two people at the police station talking about Flynn behind his back, about his family ties and his college nickname "paracop". Flynn is assigned to review some paperwork about traffic tickets. he uses it to request access to a computer and sneak a drive on it. the episode ends with him at his apartment opening his computer reviewing all the digital files in the police station with the profile of the two coworkers who were mocking him printed over his table.
