The L Word: Generation Q removed from Paramount+ w/Showtime

After being canceled last week, The L Word: Generation Q has been pulled from Paramount+ w/Showtime. It is also gone from Roku's Showtime channel. It is still available on the standalone Showtime app/website, but it likely won't be there for much longer.

I binged Season 7 and its by far my favorite in the show

Ok, so here me out, I know that many people will disagree with me on this, but this season was on another level for me for a couple of reasons.

1-Realism : many people got so pissed off when Glenn & Abraham were crushed by Negan but in the TWD universe it is not surprising actually, threats are always a possibility and bringing that spice of negan makes me actually hold on to watching the show because he makes up for a real evil person who fits very well with the TWD universe & let's not ignore that rick fucked up big time when he thought he got the survivors, and he didn't, although it seems like it at the time, but this is actually closer to reality when we do the wrong decisions we get punished by the unexpected consequences even if we thought we made the right decision it does not matter in real life, many people got pissed when the garbage people broke their promise with Rick and yeah I get it that was a moment we all did not want to see and made us all angry, but that is again letting your feelings for the characters affect your final review of the season , that was one of the most realistic moments in the entire show & it fits very well with the TWD Universe, since Rick met them, we all knew that those people were dogs who did not gave a flying shit about fighting for the greater good all they wanted was to take advantage of whoever trades with them so when Negan offered a better deal it is very expected from them to turn against rick, and it is a reasonable choice for them to make , but it was stupid too that they turned against rick right when the fight with negan was about to happen because they could have told rick earlier if he had something better to offer than negan but yet, this made me realize that they were called garbage people for a reason

2-It was a different season : many people complained about the writing quality that declined in this season, but I just see the opposite, look I know that if you loved season 1-5 so much you're probably not going to like season 7 structure of events because it is completely unique as a season than any other season until now but just because it was different does not mean that the quality of the writing declined , the solo episodes that people called “useless” & “unnecessary” was actually fun to watch for me because it breaks the cycle, and it made me feel like each character has his adventures outside the main group, the variations in the episodes and the different scenery made me realise that the TWD universe is huge, and it does not revolve around Rick's people only, we got introduced to many communities and in my opinion this was necessary from season 1

3-Negan : look I'm not one of those people who love negan . It is quite the opposite I really hated him so bad and I wished I would see him crushed by Lucille in the finale, but his character was the best in terms of acting. It really fits the badass savior that has his bullshit survival rules and is running this community of saviors, it's realistic considering the hardships of the TWD universe. I do believe there is a backstory to negan character the made him the terrible person that he is, but I don't understand the people who stopped watching the show because of negan. For me, I believe that hating him as a character means that he played his role perfectly and got people really pissed off, negan introduction to the show was necessary to keep reminding us that TWD is no place for innocent people and is never going to be a fair place & it showed us how people have turned into after the apocalypse (i really want to know what negan used to do when the world was in perfect order, best guess he was psychopath but had power and authority somewhere)

4-The communities: I loved this season because unlike the previous seasons, it shifted its focus to other communities in the series and I get that it might be hard to digest all these new characters all at once but it was so beautiful with all those communities with different people and the adventures that happened there, each community has its own rules and it pros/cons and Rick has learned how to use those communities as weapon to fight negan in the finale, without the kingdom & Ezekiel (I do find the tiger pretty annoying though with that CGI shit) it could have been the saddest ending of all time, and it actually strengthens the idea that this show was built on from the start which is the power of people together and how this can actually make the impossible possible

Please don't get mad at me, I binged watched it. Maybe I would have had a second opinion if I had to watch from week to week, which is really annoying because it is one of those seasons that cannot be watched like that, trust me, it ruined your experience and even a rewatch would not heal the effect of it I'm sorry (unless you erased your memory) feel free to disagree with me & please don't spoil season 8 for me, I didn't start it yet!

What are your criticisms of your favorite shows?

So I recently posted a slight criticism of a currently airing show in the show’s subreddit forgetting how up in their feelings fans can get. Let’s just say I got downvoted a lot. 😂

That got me thinking am I the same way with my favorite shows - unable to critique? I don’t think I am so here I go pointing out my favorite shows’ flaws…

Parks and Rec - my comfort show but Rob Lowe wasn’t a good fit (outside of the Stop. Pooping.)

Community - could dive too deeply into the meta - wasn’t a big fan of the dreamatorium scenes

Arrested Development - such sharp comedic writing but needed a little more heart and warmth for a comedy about a family

Boy Meets World - Topanga gave up too much to be with Corey

This Is Us - I loved Deja when Beth and Randall first started fostering her but as she got older she came off a little preachy and it was kind of annoying

Severance - that it takes so freaking long to film and produce seasons

Bridgerton - some of the side stories outside of the main couple are boring

So those are my criticisms of the shows I love.

The Bureau is so good

The Bureau “le bureau des légendes” is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen & the more I think about it I think it might be #1. If you are a fan of The Americans I really think you should check this out. I never thought I would find a spy show on the same level as The Americans but I think this passes it? Which current TV series actually makes you laugh, out loud?

I think there needs to be a new category of TV. So much stuff is not drama and certainly not traditional sitcom. Maybe "Harmless" would be a good category or "Pleasant,"stuff that's easy to watch. But is there anything laugh out loud funny? Not stand up specials, but a current sitcom on network or streaming. For me the most recent great comedy was Schitt's Creek. Big Bang Theory had it's moments and The Office was always funny to me.

my bf is watching for the first time

so i’ve seen the show multiple times over the last several years and consider it one of my all time favorites, even with season 8. my bf has recently started watching for the first time with me and it’s so fun seeing him go through everything. it’s like watching with fresh eyes for me. we just watched the red wedding and wow. he’s normally so good at predicting what’s going to happen, and he said “i think all the starks are about to be returned to their mother” just for an hour later him to see the results of the wedding. he is so hooked and i’m just so happy that after seeing the show so many times, i’m able to still enjoy it like it’s my first time.

How Tales of the Walking Dead Epoisode 2: Blair/Gina could have been a million times better. SPOILERS.

OK you could keep the entire mess of it exactly the same until the last 10 or 15 seconds. Then, instead of just seeing the two women walk away, have the camera zoom out and we see they are both actually Walkers and have been undead since the beginning of the episode, and that kind of jumbled reliving of events is just how the Walkers perceive the world.

Conan O'Brien is a living legend of late night. A master interviewer and comedian. He's given no updates on when this will ever happen, if at all. It's been over a year since he gave an "update" about it, which was just him saying he's still working on it.

'Rest in Peace' is a perfect conclusion.

I find the arguments that "nothing was resolved," or "it just felt like a big tease for future projects" to be ridiculous. The only reason people felt this way is because AMC is very dumb and gave away too much before the show actually ended. Fans went in with expectations to be teased for the new spin-offs, and like a self-fulfilling prophecy, they came out seeing only teases for the new spin-offs.

The problem is that none of that even happened.

Let's just rewind a second... The central idea of TWD is "the zombie story that never ends." It's not about Rick's journey, it's not about Carl learning how to cope with the new world, and it's not even about Rick's group creating a new society. At it's core, after stripping away the plot and characters, TWD is simply a never-ending zombie tale.

That's why the comics didn't have a traditional ending. It literally just concluded when the main character died, and then had a huge timejump just to show that it all ended relatively happy (not hating, I love the comic finale too).

In the same way, the show didn't have a traditional ending either. It simply concluded with the good guys winning and overcoming the Commonwealth. It could have concluded at several points in the story (when they arrive at Alexandria, after the Saviors war, after Rick left, after the Whisperers), but they chose to go with the source material, and finish with the Commonwealth arc. This allowed the story to come full circle. It started out with only Rick, then the group, then antagonists, then bigger groups, and then finally "modern" society returning, only for the characters to realize that maybe "modern" society isn't necessarily the "right" way to be. So even though TWD doesn't exactly need an ending, I feel like they chose the best possible route. The Commonwealth arc provides a nice bookend to one of the major themes of TWD (rebuilding society).

So the question is... what are you guys on about? When I watch the finale, I don't see all of these teases everyone complains about. I see a full, complete conclusion to the Commonwealth storyline, as well as satisfying ends for each character. As for the actual spin-offs that supposedly take away from the finale feeling like a true conclusion...

• Daryl- Knowing that Daryl is still riding around on his bike and trying to expand Alexandria's reach, doesn't take away anything from this finale. It hardly even teases his solo series. It simply states, "hey, btw, Daryl is still alive and kicking." I really don't get how some people can watch his final scene of riding off into the sunset, and think "this is not a satisfying conclusion, now that I know that Daryl is still doing things."
• Maggie & Negan- This is the most frustrating bit, because the writers took great pains to truly finalize the Maggie/Negan relationship. Those two got several conversations that all led to Negan finally apologizing, and Maggie admitting that she knows he's changed, but probably won't ever be able to forgive him. THIS IS A CONCLUSION. Hell, I'm left wondering how they're going to strike up a whole new plotline with these two characters, when the entirety of S11 exists (in part) to put a bow on the Maggie/Negan dynamic.
• Rick/Michonne- And finally, this one is just silly. Fucking every single TWD fan wants to see what happens with these two characters, and yet for some reason, it takes away from 11x24 feeling like a "true" finale for some. In fact, this is the one spin-off tease that NEEDED to be in the finale, and yet people still find a reason to bitch about it.

In conclusion, the finale was rad, and TWD fans will find a reason to complain about everything.

Do you think Robert Baratheon REALLY loved Lyanna Stark?

I see a lot of discourse online about whether or not Robert Baratheon really loved Lyanna stark. Many say he only wanted her because she was beautiful, an object, a prize. Others say he truly loved her because he waged war for her. I’m in the middle and can’t say much as I have yet to read the books but there’s a really human moment we get from Robert in the show where he’s teary in front of Cersei while talking about Lyanna. Bruce Campbell wants to bring back 'The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.' He also pitched an idea for what that could entail

I've been vocal about my love for The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr on this board before, and I know there are other fans of the series. I think a revival is probably out of the question as the show's cult fan base is too small, but Bruce has an idea for a revival.

Here's what he had to say during a recent interview:

"The Adventures of Brisco County" is ... you would bring him back following the death of Lord Bowler to find out who killed Lord Bowler, and you have potentially a Brisco son with Dixie that we don't know about, and maybe a Bowler's son that we don't know about, and maybe those guys team up. With me being a successful San Francisco lawyer, maybe he's got to saddle up again at some point. But you'd have to take a new spin on the whole thing, but I'd be all over that like a cheap suit."

I think this is a cool idea as family was a core theme of the original series. Bruce has been open about not being able to perform physically taxing roles as much as he used to, but playing a wise old lawyer would suit him at this stage of his career. The original series was also a revenge series that took some strange detours, so Bruce's idea lends itself to that formula too.

It'll never happening, but it's a nice dream.
