[SPOILERS] Is there any relationship that you don’t hate as much as everyone else?

Mine is Tommen/Margaery. Pretty good outside of the sexual aspect, though I wouldn’t have minded as much if she was younger. I heard that she was supposed to be a teenager, but Natalie was so perfect for the role that they overlooked the age.

Yes, she manipulated Tommen, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Tommen had a kind and gentle nature, which alienated him from the rest of his family. Robert was a absent father, but based on how he reacted to Joffrey getting beaten by Arya, I don’t think he would’ve reacted well to weakness either. The only one Tommen had was Myrcella, and now she’s gone. Cersei and Joffrey were malicious, and Jaime himself appeared indifferent to their evil behaviors.

If Cersei had her way, Tommen would’ve lost his innocence and adopted some of their values. And even if he did keep his good heart, it’s likely that he wouldn’t have been able to stand up for what he thought was right and became a puppet for Cersei and Tywin. He would’ve thought of himself as a coward for this and hated himself ( like when Margaery was locked up).

Margaery encouraged his heart and, though her reasons are never explicitly stated, she wanted to make him a good king. If she hadn’t died, she would’ve succeeded in pulling him free of Cersei. With his good nature and genuine empathy for others, and what his wife could’ve taught him about ruling and politics, he would’ve made a great king. And with her, he wouldn’t have have been forced to become this good leader overnight. She was more than capable of leading while he did some growing up.

I got a little careied away, but the point is, I don’t hate them as much as everyone else seems to. Are there any relationships (romantic or not) like that for you?
