Get ready: "close only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades" (poss spoilers)

With the DEA now involved, enter, Tortuga, the DEA informant/mole to the cartel. It's been heavily alluded to anyway, and you can't have one without the other. Just as things are getting heated up on the Jimmy/Chuck/HHM story and all the subterfuge and double-crosses there, so will that be mirrored on the Mike/Gus/cartel/DEA side. Who knows which side he's playing on in 2003, that could be a surprise.

More obvious about the character, Tortuga's reentry, there was a lot of focus on horseshoes - over the Mexican Clinica doorway and the camera comically focuses on the 'shell' and the dinosaur (ouch). And the story is spending a lot more time in Mexico.

From the standpoint of the actor, Danny Trejo's personal life and as an actor, which VG always uses in story and his characters: Trejo's film Conair (Kim's hairdryer flashed right at us); his stints in prison, taking up boxing (so many box/ing references) plus Jimmy's jail processing scenes; and his own former cocaine addiction. He counseled inmates and volunteers about it. An example that people do indeed change with the proper guidance.

That's where I think Jimmy/Saul will end up: in prison, counseling young men about crime and drug use. Because he didn't have that.

So all those fire references: things are going to heat up with the reentry of this colorful characters before it all blew up in BB.

— I had to laugh when I saw the cell phone on top of the gas cap. What does that remind me of, so odd, it's gotta be something?? Then a commenter said it reminded him/her of Tortuga. Bingo! Please raise your hand. Brilliant.
