Rewatching season 1 currently and got to episode 10s final scene and had a thought. Are the dragon(s) technically Lightbriger?
To explain, Lightbringer as far as we know is a sword that Azor Ahai crafted and could only complete by sacrificing his wife in order to empower it to fight the great others. What If lightbringer isn't just a sword? What if it's the idea and concept of what azor ahai needs in order to fight against the great other / white walkers?
The scene where Dany births the dragon from the eggs pretty much fits all of the criteria. Pulled a from a fire a flaming weapon (dragons = fire). Khal Drogos soul was offered up as sacrifice and may have binded with the egg(s) in order to forge the weapon; the dragon(s). The 3 eggs also fits well with the 3 times lightbringer as a sword was created. 2 versions of the sword that shattered = 1 dragon that was born with no sacrifice and 1 with the wrong sacrifice (although the dragons live which they pretty much have to or the white walkers get their butts kicked. Ice dragon conversation ftw).
Drogon is the successful lightbringer birth with drogos soul as the sacrifice. He is considerably larger and more power than the other two and is pretty much shown as the important one from the get go as he's the one who gets the close up.
Might be a bit tinfoil hat like but it's just a theory.
