I tried doing a search on my mobile and didn't see anything regarding this. I didn't follow many Walking Dead forums or groups when Season 4 ended, because I had not read the comics and didn't want any spoilers. So if this is common knowledge I apologize.
During the finale of season 4 "A" we are treated with a few prison flashbacks that include Herschel. If you recall these flashbacks all reference starting Rick and Carl on their farming mission at the prison.
In the final flashback Rick walks in and nods at Beth who is sitting with Judith. Speaks to Dwight about LEGOS and continues to walk up to Carl who is cleaning his gun. Of course I always ways thinking about how Dwight is older than Carl, but can still find toys enjoyable. We know Carl is in a different mentality. While rewatching though since I knew what to expect I noticed a coloring book on the table. I struggled to see what it was and thought it was a zombie. Which would be strange since there was no idea of zombies pre apocalypse in TWD. Upon looking closer I can see it is actually a one eyed pirate.
Now we already know the prison fell, the gov is dead so he will not be seen again. So either it's a throwback to the gov or possible foreshadowing of Carl eventually being shot in the eye. Either way I thought it was cool and wanted to share! I guess I'm just missing the show!
