Ever since the show began, we have had three major characters that aren't present in Breaking Bad, Chuck, Nacho, and Kim. Ever since Better Calk Saul began, everybody has tried to figure out what happens to them. At this point, I think that its safe to say, that each of their fates will, and should be unique.
Chuck, we all guessed would probably die, or wind up in a home. While we were right about him during, it happened in a way that wasn't completely expected. He committed suicide. This gives a lot more weight, and significance in his absence during Breaking Bad.
Nacho, while not super involved with Jimmy at the moment, also isn't around during Breaking, and a lot of people think that he is the person that Saul used The Disappearer on before the events of Bad. I actually already posted a theory related to this a few days back, relating to Lalo, so I won't elaborate about it further here.
Kim is the last one who we have no clue as to why her presence isn't hinted about at all during BB. Right now, the consensus seems to he that Kim and Jimmy are going to just simply grow apart, however, neither her nor HHM are seemingly not around during BB, so I am assuming that she is not in ABQ during it.
We do know that she is from Nebraska, which Gene is living in Post-BB. To me, that sounds dangerous, especially if he does not want to be recognized. In the finale we saw Kim get into an accident, one in which she could have been seriously injured. What if she wasn't so lucky next time? What if it's an accident that Jimmy/Saul is partially responsible for?
Let's say Kim is involved in another accident, but she is seriously injured, so bad that she it leaves her with serious brain damage. If that were to happen, of course she would no longer be in Albuquerque, she would probably be moved to live closer to her family, near Omaha.
Now, with Gene living in Nebraska, we have seen bits of himself pop up. What if the last time we see Gene, he is at a home, doing Bingo like he used to. It would be the same place Kim is living in. She wouldn't be able to recognize him, but he would be close to her. He was always really great with the old people in the nursing home, maybe that's actually foreshadowing to what his life as Gene is actually like.
