I forgot what episode it was specifically, but towards the beginning of season 3, Jimmy warns Chuck that one day he will go to the hospital and die, and no one would mourn his death. I think that this is direct foreshadowing for what will come later in the series. I think that in one of the seasons, probably in a season finale, we will be getting Chuck's death which will perhaps cause Jimmy to take on the identity of Saul Goodman. Perhaps, and I know this is complete conjecture, Jimmy not caring about the death of Chuck causes Kim to leave him. The series has already established that Jimmy is sort of a loose cannon, and that when there is someone at his side, he is mostly together. I think that if Kim were to leave him, he would just have barely anyone to lean on for support, thus causing his reckless personality to take control of him, causing him to turn into Saul.
