The Salamanca, Hector's father or brother, who could be father of Tuco/Twins, or both start the whole cartell biz but when they passed away Eladio managed to get to the top by getting the vote other capos with his flamboyance. This could explain Hector insubordinate attitude towards Don Eladio, because he feel cheated of his family inheritance. Could also explain why Eladio kept him around and tolerated him.
