[EVERYTHING] Bronn has been beyond the wall?

Another rewatch realization from S1E09, the scene with Shae, Bronn and Tyrion playing that drinking game.

So Bronn claims to have gone beyond the wall because of "work"? Is this possible that he could've been part of the nights watch and deserted? I don't see any other reason for him to have gone beyond the wall, what other reasons do you think could have brought him beyond the wall? I guess one can argue that it's possible he could've been smuggling weapons/supplies to the wildings but he's not into that kinda "work"... I'm not really invested into the books, maybe you readers have some more insight.
