Does anyone else feel like Jon Snow is by far the worst written main character in terms of character development and growth?
In the beginning of the show he was basically Ned Stark lite, but kind of a child so impulsive and a bit naive(maybe impulsivity has to do with Targaryen blood?). Since then the character has gone through so much... Joining the nights watch,becoming lord commander, then dying, only to be brought back to become king in the north and lead the fight against the white walkers... But how has he grown or developed?
Sansa,Arya,Jaime,Tyrion,Cersei and even Daenarys have grown through their journey. But Jon is still impulsive ned stark lite... In the Battle of the Bastard's, Ramsay plays Jon with the whole rickon thing, and Jon being an impulsive idiot falls for it, and puts the whole army at risk despite Sansa's warning. Also the whole actually I swore fealty to denarys already... He continues to show his stupidity. And the thing is all the other characters who have had an honorable shtick and especially those that were also impulsive ie; Robb, all ended up dead permanently, yet somehow Jon snow is still here not really paying for his mistakes.
I would love to have my mind changed.
Edit: I don't think Jon snow is a poorly written character overall... Just that his growth/evolution is severely lacking
