Near the end of my first in years. A few thoughts.

Edit to title: First Rewatch in years. Sorry.

-The pilot is really awkward.

-I used to not understand why some people don't like the show. Now I get why it's really not for everyone. It can be emotionally exhausting for sure.

-The show can brilliantly make me go from hating Walt's guts to feeling the utmost sympathy for him in a single scene. I know everyone loves the "Heisenberg" moments, but I feel that the more emotionally charged and somber monologues from Walt are more indicative of who he really is, and that is what really captivates me. Some examples are "The Fly", "Buried", and "Cancer Man".

-There is a huge shift between Seasons 1 and 2 and the rest of the series. I REALLY enjoy 1 and 2. I think that Walt and Jesse's struggle as small-timers is a lot more interesting than struggling under the thumb of Gus and his crew, which encapsulates some of season 3 and all of season 4. Even though the production value isn't quite up to snuff, I still prefer them to the rest of the series. My ranking would be: 2-1-5-3-4.

-I feel like Walt Jr's role was a bit underdeveloped. Though maybe it was intentionally written this way to highlight the fact that Walt clearly sees Jesse as more of a son figure than his own son.

-I LOVE "4 days out". Such a great episode. Overlooked yet such an important episode. Probably my favorite.

-I'd love to see what Jesse does after Breaking Bad.

-Mid season 4 is probably the low point of the entire series. I remember it was a painful processes watching those episodes one week at a time.

-Fantastic show and it’s always fun to return to.
