Dany's musical score is heraldic, uplifting, and triumphant. Jon's(/House Stark's) is melancholy, sorrowful, and at times feels as if he/House Stark has been defeated
Up until now, I always thought that the music resembled what is happening on the show (which is true) and what is to come. Dany, the conquering hero, the savior of Westeros, the triumphant, etc... And this would indicate that she will be the victor in the final conflict.... whereas Jon's music sets him up to be the martyr, the hero who loses everything, and will eventually die....
BUT
I realized this morning that the books are written in point-of-view style... what if the musical score is written the same way: it does not reflect (nor predict) what is ACTUALLY happening, but what the character BELIEVES is happening/thinks will happen?
Dany believes she is the conquering hero, the rightful queen, etc... she sees herself as a great savior, etc... hence her music reflects that. Jon believed he never had a place in the world, he despairs for Westeros, sees tragedy for him and his family, does not view himself as a champion (like Dany views herself) but as someone thrust into this conflict against his will..... and hence his music reflects that.
So then, if this is true, perhaps the music indicates what the characters want, rather than what they will get, and Dany will lose the throne, and Jon will be victorious and gain peace/happiness?
