Crossover Character Revealed!!

They just announced who the crossover character will be on Talking Dead, and it turns out MORGAN will be moving over to FTWD.

How does everyone feel about this? I don’t think anyone saw this coming, and there’s a lot to consider - like, how does he get all the way out west? How will the timelines work out? We’re 2 years or so into TWD, whereas FTWD is only a couple months in at this point. Predictions? Thoughts?

EDIT: So here’s what we know so far about Morgan’s timeline. (obviously TWD spoilers ahead)

In season 1, he’s living near Atlanta in a house with his son Duane. This is about where we’re at in FTWD at the end of season 3, give or take. He’s probably met Rick and they’ve parted ways by the time the dam blows.

In season 3, we see Morgan again. This time he’s on his own in some sort of fortified outpost he set up. His son Duane was bitten and died, and he went into clear mode. Someone pointed out in the comments that he also told Rick that he stayed near Atlanta after they split up, trying to reach him via radio.

So we can confirm that Morgan wouldn’t be in Texas during FTWD’s current timeline since he was around the Atlanta area.

After season 3, the next time we see Morgan, we see him all cloaked up with his stick. We see glimpses of him as he tracks Rick down using the map he found at Gabriel’s church. This is season 5, I believe. And between seasons 3 and 5 we know he met Eastman and learned how to use the staff.

So I think it’s fair to say Morgan would not have left Georgia to go all the way out west to Texas, only to come all the way back and end up searching for Rick. That would be unbelievable.

After he finds the map, Morgan heads towards DC and encounters the Wolves before eventually running into Daryl and Aaron. Since then, he’s been at Alexandria and the Kingdom, and currently, I think he’s MIA after his spat with Jesus.

So based on this I think we can say with some certainty that Morgan won’t show up in a “flashback,” or FTWD’s current timeline. I think Morgan will leave during this season of TWD and will make his way west, eventually meeting someone from FTWD.

Given that he’s involved in season 4 of FTWD, I think there has to be a time skip for them to catch up to the current TWD timeline - about 2 years after the outbreaks, or a year and a half or so ahead of where FTWD currently is.

Does this all sound right to everyone? I’m interested to see how they make this work.
