[Show Spoilers] What SHOULD have been the last episode?

Based on the 107 episodes of the show (up to 8x08), what episode is your personal opinion of when the show should have ended? Your opinion could be that it hasn't occurred yet.

Mine is 6x09. The final episode would have had Carl in a hospital bed just like Rick started the show. The final enemy would have been a massive herd of zombies. It ties home the first enemy being the last enemy. Carl would hear Rick's last words of the show "I want to show you a new world." This could be a world where his son is alive and safe after losing an eye. The group realized that they can defeat morally-ambiguous humans and zombies.

This eliminates the huge question of why Hilltop, Kingdom, and the Saviors did not notice Alexandria beforehand. Why did they not attack? The Saviors mention they were aware of the community in 6x15, if I recall. There would be no open-ended plot points, as Jesus and everyone would not be introduced. Jesus' character development would not be reduced either compared to the comics.

Glenn, Sasha, and Abraham would not be dead. Negan's language would not be butchered. The 6x16 cliffhanger would not have happened. The slow pacing of Season 7 would not happen. Writers of the show would not have diminished in performance. The aimless gun battles of Season 8 never happen. Carl is alive and his character arcs aren't tampered with. Carl does not go from wanting Negan dead to randomly being comfortable with sparing Negan. Jesus doesn't exist to go from murderous to peaceful without reason.

Morgan does get to re-enter the story and have his Eastman episode. Heath is fine and never has an unclear disappearance where no one ever talks about him again. Deanna's death is implied based on the circumstances of what we last saw. The group has settled into a new home for good. Unfortunately, however, we still have dumpstergate, Dwight, and the Saviors mentioning Negan in 6x08, I think.
