For April Fools this year, Adult Swim and Toonami are airing subbed anime, along with the surprise airing of FLCL 3 Episode 1 and the 2004 film Mind Game

Something they've always said they'd never do, they're finally doing, as a joke of course.

Dragon Ball Super, DBZ Kai, and Black Clover all aired normally, with dub premieres, but once it hit past midnight, everything changed. The Toonami bumps turned purple, got Japanese text and audio, and then FLCL 3 premiered: subbed. FLCL 2 hasn't even premiered dubbed or subbed yet. Adult Swim's logo also turned Japanese.

That'd be good alone, but it got even better. After FLCL, they aired the movie Mind Game, from director Masaaki Yuasa (Ping Pong, Devilman Crybaby), still subbed. The movie was such a trip, worth the time.

Currently as I'm typing this, they're airing a subbed episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, with the full intro and credits. This show really is way more entertaining in Japanese, especially with the Engrish "OH MY GOD".

They're planning on airing subbed episodes of Hunter X Hunter, Naruto: Shippuden, Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell after this.

All in all, this is one of my favorite pranks they've done in recent times.
