I sometimes like to try to place myself in the mindset of certain characters, and one of the funniest times for me has to be when Gendry goes north to retrieve a Wight. I can only imagine what must be going through his head. A random blacksmith bastard (sure, king's bastard, but that hasn't benefited him at all), along with almost all "legendary tier" fighters
Jon Snow - King of the North. Won the battle of the bastards. Already famous as a warrior and people's champion
The Hound - Incredible warrior, famous for his strength, ferociousness, and fighting skill
Thoros of Myr - Famous Red Priest, Epic warrior, first over the wall at the taking of Pyke
Beric Dondarrion - Famous warrior, resurrected multiple times as well. Must be some major magic going on there
Jorah Mormont - Again, before his dishonor was a tourney winning fighter and known to be quite capable. I am sure his reputation has increased from his service to Queen Danny as well
Tormund Giantsbane - Leader of the Wildlings. I am sure not much of his actual feats are known to the realm, but just being leader of the Wildlings probably implies an incredible degree of savagery and warrior status.
Gendry - Bastard. Blacksmith. Does "pretty good" with a hammer.
I know if I were him, I would definitely be all "WTF am I doing here with the dream team???"
