He’s so self absorbed and caught up in his own good news, that even though he knows Kim was burning the candle at both ends, and even mentions that he knows she pulled another all-nighter, he just lets her drive off and just stays there. She would have made it to her meeting, he wouldn’t have felt so guilty and let Irene continue with deciding to settle with Sandpiper.
