I am 100% emotionally invested in the walking dead universe and even if it becomes the worst rated show in television history I think it will still take some pretty huge steps to make me no longer watch. Having said that, I have really not enjoyed season 7 or 8, and I believe this is down to no one other than the people that wrote it. The walking dead for me started becoming slightly less than the best piece of TV ever written in season 4 but halfway through, like a hell of a lot of fans thought, it suddenly became an even better show than ever before when they left the prison and entered the dark, bleak, brutal rest of the world. It became so psychological, horrifying and tense that I was just about screaming at every angle! Now the thing is, I loved all out war in the comics and I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the perfect cast for negan yet, annoyingly, people contribute the demise of TWD to Negan, and that I believe, is not true. If season 9 returns to psychologically tormenting drama/horror instead of becoming an action show about gun battles, stunts and 8/10 characters we die hard fans don't give a shit about then I truely believe TWD can become the greatest series ever to grace our screens once again.
