I'm done with this show. Just... done. It's almost as if the writers have missed the point on what made certain elements so damn appealing.
Killing Nick was almost an act of mercy, given what was done to his character. At one point he asks Madison "How do you do it? How do you go outside"
And even taking his current emotional predicament into consideration, HE SHOULD KNOW HOW SOMEONE CAN DO IT. He spent the previous two seasons becoming intimate with the idea of not only being out there, but being among the DEAD THEMSELVES. It just infuriates me. There's going through something traumatic, and then there's talking like a different person entirely.
Nick should have said something like, "How do you keep doing it? I can't. Not anymore."
And why do they give such a shit about that little kid? The Clarks by now should at least know how to view things in a practical manner. Madison was the one who gave Troy the hammer because she knew that keeping him around was like keeping poison near your coffee, and yet this little kid full on screws them over and she can't let go of this infatuation that she has?
After hearing that Nick dies in episode 3, I decided to finally watch these first episodes. I was interested/scared to see how it was going to happen. How did it happen? That stupid kid. A kid who they should have known better than to not throw to the trash the moment she proved to be even 1% untrustworthy. It's something they would have done in the past.
How about, after Nick kills the guy antler-style, he turns around to see a swarm of dead making their way into the storage solo thing? He tries to do what he can with the hammer, but they overrun him and presto. He still learns the lesson the hard way on how revenge can kill you, but it would be miles better than what we did get.
So... yeah. I like John. I really do. It's just not enough, for me. Morgan is just as terrible as I thought he'd be. The show made my brother fall asleep. Strand my man, my second lifeline into the show next to Nick, is just a shadow of his former self. I'm done. And it's not that the show did things I didn't want it to do, it's that the storytelling is garbage.
Have fun, everybody. Guess we'll always have S03. And Troy.
