The X-Files, S6E2 (Drive)

This is the Vince-written and co-produced ep in which Vince decided Bryan was The One.

It being 20 years later now, and now on Hulu, I offer some observations.

1) Bryan Cranston nailed it in this episode, from being reasonable to desperate. 2) The oft-noted anti-Jewish sentiment that Cranston's character is supposedly centered around was gratuitous 20 years ago. There were two throwaway lines that had nothing to do from to Cranston's overall character and the overall plot to insert an SJW message. The approved message has changed over the years, but still, it's gratuitous to insert it, whatever it is. 3) Vince hired the actor who oscillated from Walter S1 to S5 in 43 minutes, and did not wreck BB by adding social "educational awareness" that is endemic with Hollywood writers now.

Whatever a showrunner's view is not why people watch, let alone why they are discussing a show five years gone. It's that it was good TV, good entertainment regardless of one's political view.

Inserting your own, regardless of whether one agrees, is not why most people watch TV. I'm glad Vince recognized this,
