Hank's physical therapy/hospital stay was quite unrealistic.
You don't get to stay in the hospital if you want to. You get discharged when you are able to handle the next phase of rehab. Doctors kick you out.
Hank's wife demanded "the best" physical therapy. This is a loaded statement. There are new grads that can get people walking again with some cord injuries.
They also misrepresented the cost of physical therapy. Getting more physical therapy more often doesn't equal faster recovery.
They could have hired a personal physical therapist for $85k a year.
Any other medical professionals notice this?

Was anyone else disappointed that *spoilers* killed *spoilers*?
Walt killed Mike? Or rather, that Walt shot and killed Mike the way he did?
Mike was established as a bonafide badass who'd taken out groups of armed thugs at a time. He was skilled with a gun, cool under pressure, and had a James Bond-like ability to sense and predict danger.
Walt is next to useless with a gun, and very clumsy and careless. How in the hell did he get the drop on Mike? It was shown Mike had an extra gun on him. I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have predicted Walt's outburst of rage given the intensity of their confrontation.
You would think Mike would've waited until he was sure Walt was out of the area before opening the bag and dropping his guard like that.
It just seemed very out of character for a guy like Mike. Maybe I'm just salty because Mike was my favourite character, haha.

Symbolism of Mike's Hungry Hungry Hippos game having TWO yellow hippos?
As we all know, color play a major thematic role in this show. If you watch carefully when Mike is playing Hungry Hungry Hippos with his granddaughter, there are two yellow hippos. Usually there's a red one, but the red one has been replaced with an additional yellow hippo on Mike's game. What do you suppose Vince Gilligan was trying to convey with this color choice?

If what we all suspect will happen, happens, how do you think Negan will react? The only reactions we can be fairly certain about are Daryl and Michonne. Of course, Aaron, Jesus, Maggie, Carol, etc. will be upset, but it'll hit Daryl and Michonne the hardest. I wonder if Negan will be bothered or shocked if that happens.

The plot twist at the end of season 4
Did anyone see it coming the first time they watched the show? For me it was a complete shock. The first time I watched it, I hated Walt so much. The second time through? I can see how clever it was as a tactic and can't help but admire it. Smart, but so inhumane.

[SPOILERS] Imagine Westeros if the Baratheon brothers had only just worked together.
The biggest mistake in the history of The Baratheon house was putting Robert on the throne. This isn’t to say that Robert was inherently a bad king: Kings Landing was in relatively good shape diplomatically. It was clear that Robert took the throne, but he didn’t want to rule. He’s told Ned multiple times that he loved Lyanna more than anything in the world, but can’t remember her face. The woman he overthrew a dynasty for he can’t remember her face. However, he said to Barristan Selmy when him and Jaime were telling war stories that he remembered every single face of every man that he had ever killed. How is it that you can remember every man’s face that you’ve ever killed, but not remember your life long love’s face?
Robert went on and became king and didn’t really act as king. Instead, he just whored and drank and hunted and killed. My god, he knew the crown was in “tremendous debt” but decided to throw an overtly expensive championship anyways. Robert is obsessed with killing. When he took the throne, he had to give up killing which is why he gained weight, drank, hunted and overall gave up on pretty much everything for 17 years.
Stannis was a much better choice for the throne than any of the three Baratheon brothers, but he wasn’t that good of a tactician. Let’s face it, he got his ass handed to him by the Lannisters in battle, and he even lost the battle of black water bay by being way too cocky. However, Stannis was a great politician. He had friends in many different places and knew what needed to be done. With exception of Melisandre, he had a great choice of advisors and allies and would have made a fantastic diplomat. He was fantastic at negotiating. He never made a deal with someone when he couldn’t deliver. The only reason Jon didn’t accept his offer to legitimize him was because shortly after Stannis made the offer, he was elected Lord Commander of the night’s watch. That being said, Renly was an idiot to think that he had any claim to the throne before Stannis did given the way that the monarchy/aristocracy works in Westeros. He god damned himself by refusing Stannis’ offer to be named his heir if he would just put down his banner and join him. In the words of Bron, there’s no cure for being a cunt, and that’s exactly what Renly was being.
This is not to say that Renly was a useless character because he wasn’t. He was a great spokesperson. Somehow he made an entire region of Westeros to take up arms against his own brother when they knew he had literally no claim to the throne at all. The people loved Renly. He was handsome, well respected, and showed promise as a political figure.
In summary, I think that Robert should have been made lord commander of the Kong’s guard, or made the Commander of Westeros’ armies. Stannis should have been given the Throne, and Renly should have been made the Hand of the king. Renly was just too young and inexperienced to be named a king. He was only a child when Robert’s rebellion went down. There was so much that he could have learned from Stannis and I honestly think that if the three brothers had just worked together, the Baratheons could have started a new dynasty.

I still remember when I first heard about the show premiering. I didn't watch it at first, but my mother tuned in from the beginning. It's kinda crazy how the very first episode that will air after the show's eight-year anniversary will be the final episode of the character we've followed from the beginning, Rick Grimes.

I think i found an inconsistency with Breaking Bad.
In Breaking Bad Season 3 Episode 2, when the cousins are in Walts house, we see a brief shot of Gus in the Laundromat, he's looking at Schematics/Blueprints. You would assume these are of the building or the Lab after watching later into the season. However in BCS we see the lab being planned much earlier.
Does anyone have something I'm missing?
Submitted October 31, 2018 at 07:16PM by GRIMMMMLOCK https://ift.tt/2Qaz5Ak
I'm 6 episodes in and last episode (Five-O) brought me here
Lets start with this: Breaking Bad is one of my, if not my favorite TV show of all time (up there with Hannibal, Game of Thrones, True Detectives first season and Fargo S1&2) and it wasn't until last week that I started with its spin off Better Call Saul. Now, of course I'm not expecting Breaking Bad level (who in gods name would?), but I generally wanted to actually relive the BrBa world, the atmosphere and most of its characters (well, except the 2/3 central ones).
But I have to say this, BrBa and BCS are completely different shows. Hear me out: Yes I can buy that both of them take place in the same universe & that BrBa's characters are the same from BCS, but the shift of the main character also means the tonal shift.
BrBa had a hammering fast pace, ticking like a clock (well a time bomb), it was intense from the first moment, at some points completely joyless and relentlessly brutal. BCS takes a much slower pace, with way more focus on comedy. Well, because Walter White is a much more hectic and unpredictable man, than Jimmy/Saul, and he respectively is more humorous.
The first few episodes had some clever writing in them, Odenkirk gives a great performance and many of the new / supporting characters like Kim or Nacho are interesting.
But wow, that last episode (S1E6) was something stunning. It was something I always wanted to see but never thought would get; basically an origin of Mike Ehrmantraut. How he lost his son, what made him kill 2 cops. Personally, at this point I feel like everyone who has seen this episode has to see BrBa. To see how ruthless and cold Mike became, but also how caring he was for the ones he loves, at least whats rest of them (granddaughter) and especially his relationship with Jesse (who he may recognize as his "boy"). The last few minutes were chilling and the highpoint of the show so far (for me), and they weren't even with the main character.
I'm hooked on what's the deal for S1 going to be, and how it is going to end. But what I'm sure of, Better Call Saul is in my current TV schedule, and its there to stay

Something I wish...
I wish Carl was still around. Not just because I think Gimple royally screwed up the rest of the show because of it, but I would love to see how he would react to the death of his dad. Think about it: Rick would still have his last episode in which he would die. Carl would find out (or even maybe have to put Rick down). But afterwards...
Just like Rick went on rampages when Lori died and when Carl was shot in the head, I would have LOVED to see Carl take that role and hit his full form and go Super Saiyan on some zombie asses because of the death of his father. Remember how BA Rick's rampages were? God I would have paid a large amount of money to see Carl take that job with Rick's departure.

[Spoilers] I'm currently working through Game of Thrones for the first time, and I have a question about Sansa's role in S06E09.
Before the Battle of the Bastards, Sansa sat quiet while Davos, Jon, and Tormund planned their strategy for the battle the next day. Afterward, Sansa and Jon had an argument about the uneven fight, how Jon was underestimating Ramsay, and how he should have tried getting more men before fighting.
Earlier, it was shown that she had sent for the Knights of the Vale by raven without Jon's knowledge, going so far as to lie to Jon to keep it a secret.
I'm really trying to give Sansa the benefit of the doubt, but I keep thinking that she caused the majority of Jon's army, which comprised mostly of wildlings, House Mormont, and a few other minor houses to die needlessly because she couldn't (or wouldn't) speak up about the reinforcements.
It really paints Sansa in a negative light for me, especially when she chastised Jon for not waiting for more men without volunteering the information that she had summoned the Knights of the Vale, and when they came, she rode in with Littlefinger as if she was the savior in all of this.
True, she didn't hear whether or not they were coming or when, but the prospect of the Knights of the Vale helping would have greatly affected Jon's strategy, making me trust her less. Am I understanding this correctly, or did I miss something?

1) What happened to Howard and HHM and how did it get better?
2) What was the significance of Jimmy going to the library?
3) What was with that whole Bavarian boy thing?
4) Did Stacey have a relationship with that charlatan that Mike exposed? Why was she trying to call him while he was inspecting Madrigal?
5) Why did Mike decide to inspect Madrigal after seeing his payslip? Was it really for cover or was he somehow not satisfied with the amount he received?
6) Why did Kim keep sitting in on that judge's court? Was it really so she could be a PD?
I feel like they were so many unanswered allusions in this season.

I know it's a thing of the past as we'll probably see them Splitsville in season 5 but another flashback episode intro would be nice and remind us how much they were in love. It was an odd year for TWD universe
First we had Carl leave the show(pointlessly) then we had Fear The Walking Dead get rid of it's original storyline and had Frank Dillane (Nick) leave the show aswell as Kim Dickens. Then Chris Hardwick is accused by his ex of abuse which he was almost fired from Talking Dead. Then we hear Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan are both leaving the show (Andy for good, Lauren for a while). Lastly Telltale announced they wouldn't be continuing The Walking Dead game story and caused fans to freak out but thankfully Skybound announced they would finish it for us.
It just feels like everything was/is going wrong for TWD universe that nothing seems to be the same anymore except for Talking Dead and Telltale TWD. but if it didn't work out for Hardwick and the video game, we would've lost everything for what they were. So strange.

Daryl and Rick fell down a hole. I'm an archaeologist, so I'm quite aware of the huge amount of labour it would take to dig a hole of that depth and diameter - as well as the extra tasks of cutting all the roots etc. So who dug the hole? I haven't seen anyone discussing this yet, but for the whole episode all I could think was "who dug that (fresh) fucking hole??" To me the hole wasn't about the drama that occurred inside it. It was about the fact it existed at all, and who put it there, and for what reason? Any ideas? Is it a hint of things to come?

I was re watching episode 5 quite a ride, and Kim's monologue when talking to her young client David after representing him was so telling of her own internal dialogue with herself. She basically gives him a step by step, fully legal, fully ethical, just plain black and white, no bull shit plan of action for him to stay out of trouble and hence earning success in life. Then in episode winner where Jimmy is talking to Ms.esposito, paraphrasing, he basically tells her to ignore the rules and cut corners to win.Because those in power will only see her for the mistake she made.
Just thought these two scenes showed the juxtaposition of Kim and Jimmy's thought process so well and almost like they were both talking to their passed younger selves.
Thoughts?

Just finished Breaking Bad for the first time
Such a fantastic show, always kept me at the edge of my seat. It was really interesting to watch Walter turn from a regular high school chemistry teacher to a completely different person motivated by power and greed.
I could sympathize with Skyler, the amount of lies and trauma that Walt put her through and the kids was awful and I understood the way she reacted. There was really nothing else for her to do but comply to Walter since she was terrified of him.
I felt really bad for Jesse. It was upsetting to see a goofy guy be broken down into such a wreck. Being constantly manipulated and lied to by Walt concerning Jane, Brock, Andrea, and many things. It was gut-wrenching seeing how emotionless he was in season 5, he’s just had enough. Poor kid couldn’t catch a break.
and the worst was in “Ozymandias” seeing Hank die and watching Marie and the family suffer. So many deaths and countless of other bad things happened because of Walt’s actions. He destroyed his family doing what he thought was “best for the family.”
I love this show, I can’t wait to rewatch it. It was very well made!!

[Fan-Comic] Volume 1 Progression
tl;dr: I want to get back into drawing and I thought S3 of ftwd deserved a better followup so here's my fan-comic: https://imgur.com/a/xzJXBcG
Hey I'm back with a few more pages to add. I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I'd hoped, but it's because I took a promotion at my job right after I started this project. My schedule's settled down and I'm getting used to it, so hopefully I can double up on productivity from here on.
As I mentioned in my original post, I'm mostly doing this as a way to get back into drawing and because I really liked this show before the reboot. I used to draw all the time, making up my own characters and stories, up until a couple years into college when I just kind of burnt out and stopped for a bunch of years. I've never done any kind of fan fiction before but I used to love coming up with story lines, and that's kind of what drove a lot of my drawing. I'd get inspired, come up with a story outline, and then draw all the characters. I don't really get inspired anymore and when I try and force it, it just doesn't work. I've tried just drawing cool/aesthetic/random things to build a portfolio with or at least just stay in practice but I can't stay motivated for long.
I got the idea to do this after the s4 mid-season finale. I was pretty bummed that the new showrunners decided to throw everything the previous season had built and ret-con the characters. I got really into this show during s3 (I'd enjoyed it before then but not nearly as much) and I just felt like this was the weirdest thing to ever happen to a show, like, ever. I got the idea for a fan comic because I felt like there was still so much story left for the characters as well as the region, and this would be a good opportunity for me to get back into drawing.
I'm trying not to be a perfectionist, but instead to improve naturally as the comic progresses. I already see a lot of the mistakes in my work and areas that can be improved but I'm not trying to get too caught up on them or the comic will never progress, ya know? If anything looks too weird/awkward or out of place, I don't mind it being pointed out as long as it's constructive criticism. I know Madison and Strand don't look quite like themselves but it will improve.

One thing I really like about this seasons dialogue...
Is that they talk about past characters. Off the top of my head, in the past two episodes we’ve had Carl, Glenn, Abraham, Sasha, Denise, Merle and Lori spoken about, not to mention others I’m probably forgetting. I feel like in the past, dead characters weren’t often brought up once they were gone, apart from the odd mention every now and then.
I think it’s great, especially when Carl and Glenn are mentioned, that conversation between Rick and Daryl in the pit was one of the best scenes in the entire show IMO.

Is it me, or did Walt love Jesse more than Junior?
So i am at my second run and i am at the closing chapters ep. 11 and now that i watch it, i have to ask: Did Walt love Jesse more than Walt Jr.? I mean the mistakes Jesse did would have been more than enough for Walter to send anyone else to Belize but even in the closing hours of the show he can't bring himself to do it. And except of being a pain in the ass, what did Junior do for him? Jesse cooked with him and he taught him how to cook. Did he use him? Yes, but who did he not use during the final seasons? He developed a closer bound with him than he could ever do with Jr. And plus the kid is pretty fucking stupid. I read about paralisys and while it can affect some people's mind since Jr. learned how to drive and showed he is not affected he had no excuse to be that annoying/stupid while Jesse showed he was smart but he couldn't develope because of his issues. And do we ever see Walt and Jr. develop their relation? Jesse needed a father, Walt needed a son. Also i am not attacking RJ Miller, the guy is an amazing person, i am talking strictly about Junior.

This is just sad
I just keep on imagining what could have been if Angela was the showrunner from season 6 onwards. She's actually consistent and actually gives past events meaning. The small references she writes are powerful. She actually takes the past into account which makes the show exciting once again. It looks to me like she legitimately LOVES the show and was invested with it throughout its runtime.
She came in way too late, unfortunately. At least IMO.

Everyone’s hyped about next week’s episode, but let’s not forget about the midseason finale
9x08 is titled “Evolution.” This was hinted at in the season premiere with the evolution scene in the museum, and I can’t think of a better name for an episode to formally introduce our new antagonists, the Whisperers. They’re a new breed of human, adapted to thrive amongst the dead. So damn hyped to actually see them on screen.

Jesse halfway season 3
Does anyone else think Jesse is being an actual asshole halfway season 3, around the time where Hank gets shot by the cousins?
-
Yes, Hank beat him up hard, but I think Jesse's revenge speech is way over the top.
-
When Walt learns Hank is in the hospital and he goes there the whole day, Jesse calls him saying "yo stop grieving we gotta cook". What, you didn't grieve when Jane died? Have some sympathy.
-
Why is he in no way even a little bit professional when he enters the superlab for the first time? He's doing all this foolish stuff the whole day alone, and yes it's funny but still. Is that because he's so hyped up about Hank being half dead?
Jesse is, and rightfully so, often seen as the 'innocent' guy who got unlucky in life, but in my opinion he's being a real bitch himself here.

Why did Werner and the engineers agree to work for Gus?
Other than a lot of money. What guarantees they're getting paid at the completion of the project? What’s stopping Gus from just killing them after the job is done? Gus could just dispose of their bodies and that'd be the end of it
Why would talented engineers complete a job for criminals? Couldn’t they have made a decent amount of money elsewhere, legally?
Is there an explanation for this or is this a plot hole?

Chuck wins?
Jimmy’s latest speeches to Kim and the little girl reveal his inability to discriminate the assumed opinions of the exterior world as distinct from Chuck’s, the latter of course being the pseudo-patriarch who is never pleased. He’s slowly increasing his favoritism for being the victim, but telling to himself that it is a farce, such as how he deals with the boys threatening him over phones. However, in the two aforementioned rants, he exposes his bitterness over the fact that Chuck has chosen to martyr himself in the name of his idealism, something he knew that Jimmy could never do. Chuck is a rigid, yang type, who is draped in success through the traditional idea of intelligence: one’s capacity for raw data, and the implementation of it, IQ. Jimmy is a yin type, who finds his way through EQ, for better or worse, and whose flexible world-view is vulnerable to dramatic acts of inflexibility. Jimmy’s less idealistic, more grounded perspective makes it possible to acknowledge the chance that he might be wrong, no matter how small it may seem to him, and this is something that Chuck could never do.
And so now we can see why Jimmy must die, a metaphorical act of what he hopes will be a worthy show of rebellion to Chuck’s, by being an almost direct opposition to a suicide, a rebirth. This will perhaps be a way for Saul to bury his doubts with his former persona, and thus cementing his transformation into a rigidly idealistic type in the same manner that the son becomes the father purely through the act of resistance, but Saul’s fierce idealism will of course be in a direction opposite of Chuck’s traditional, stereotypical, boring one. This can explain why Jimmy sometimes views it as antiquated, and disconnected. Chuck literally disconnects himself from the world with his phobia, cutting off all sources of modern media, television, phone, radio, resigning himself to a safer place in the past, before he failed as a pseudo-father, before Jimmy was successfully corrupt.
Saul will always see Chuck as failing to accept the reality of the world, but has no other models for how to be a man, and so therefore can only supersede Chuck’s world-view by disagreeing with it, because if you only have one role-model, and you cannot be it, then the only other blueprint you have is its opposite. Thus Chuck manipulates Jimmy into being what he wants, Saul, by being a person of the straight path that Jimmy can be sufficiently disgusted by to run away from. In negotiation strategy, they say as soon as you get the answer you want to end the conversation, which is possibly why Chuck ended it so clearly.

Came across these on twitter and wanted to share. Honestly, I do think being a showrunner for such a hit and divisive show would be a pain in the ass. I also just can't imagine being handed a working, breathing story and cast (fear seasons 1-3) and deciding that instead starting from scratch (the reboot that is season 4A-4B) was going to be the best way to go about it.

Had kind of a realisation about BCS and BB after finishing season 5
I realised that everything that so many of the characters in Better Call Saul pour their entire lives into, risk their lives for and kill other people for is eventually ruined and destroyed in the space of about 2 years by one man: Walter White. He came out of nowhere and when he entered the drug world Gus, Hector, the entire Salamanca family, Mike, Lydia, Gale, everyone else who worked for them and even Saul are eventually fucked over (if they’re lucky) or killed because of him. Even the lab, which the Germans spent so long on and costed Werner his life (and in some ways his wife’s too), is destroyed and covered up like it never even existed. Almost everything that happens in BCS and everything that came before and after winds up as nothing because of Walt.

Question about Walt & Mikes "agreement" from season 5
So in episode 6 "Buyout" where they're discussing to split the methylamine for 5 million profit each, and Walt tries to sneak in at night to steal it but gets caught by Mike, at one point he says "Let me cook it, i'll double your 5 million and you can still walk", which Mike laughs off and goes as far as to lock him in the office overnight to make sure nothing happens.
Then at the end of the episode, he sees Walt escapes from the restraint and that everything was gone, where he then puts a pistol to Walts Skull as Jesse insists to listen to his new idea
....his new idea which is he cooks the meth, Mike still gets the 5 million and walks. The same deal (even worse since Mike only gets 5 instead of the proposed double) Walt proposed earlier where Mike didn't even give him the time of day, but now it's seen as this genius idea where "everybody wins" and of course leads up to the say my name scene
So what changed? Was it ACTUALLY the fact that Walt hid the barrels? Because I feel like Mike would have just killed him anyway at that point and said fuck the money, rather than go along with his ploy

Thought about Jack while doing a rewatch
Something occurred to me while rewatching, Jack is perhaps the only character who is unquestionably a 'bad guy'. It seems like they intentionally made him unlikable. Walt is obviously a criminal but the audience were on his side, Gus was ruthless but his flashback to his friend gained sympathy. Mike was a killer but the relationship with his granddaughter put us on his side, Saul.. Even the 'good guys' had murky morals (hank, Marie)
Jack doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities, he is designed for the audience to dislike. Maybe this is because he is the final enemy, but I also think it makes him a slightly one dimensional character compared to the others

A question about Kaylee's age.
So, it's been a few years since I finished Breaking Bad. Haven't rewatched it ever since. This question has been bugging me for quite a while now. I remember the Kaylee in Breaking Bad was around 7 - 8 years old (I could be wrong though). Considering the fact that Better Call Saul takes place around 4 - 5 years before Breaking Bad, Kaylee doesn't seem to have aged at all as we saw her in Breaking Bad. She's pretty much the same age in both shows even though there is clearly like a 5 year gap between BB and BCS. Is this a plothole? Or is there something I missed?

I love Saul Goodman and all, he's great. But in reality i only watch this show for Mike Eahrmentraut. (Also Nacho, to an extent.)
Saul is hilarious. He's a great character with great character development, and I was ecstatic when I found out he was getting a spin-off.
But Mike, in all honesty, is the coolest character I've ever seen on television.
Mike is almost 70 years old, has been a cop, a soldier, and now a Hitman. And at 80 years old he's still one of the baddest motherfuckers I've ever seen. He puts young "badasses" to shame. And every badass thing he does, is done for the sake of his little granddaughter Kaylee. It's so wholesome yet savage.
I love Saul as a character, but his arcs and issues he goes through are (for the most part) generally uninteresting to me. He has quite a few good parts, but the vast majority of his screentime is boring and uninteresting.
Mike, on the other hand, is the character I'm actually excited to see , and am engaged by. I'm almost never bored seeing Mike, and I love to know the backstory of this bad motherfucker. I want to know more. I want to see more people get wrecked by this badass grandad. I want to find out more about how he ended up this way, and lastly, I want to see his influence on the entire Breaking Bad story.
Side note: I also love Nacho. He almost gets as much love from me as Mike does. And he's great, because we don't know what happens to him because he's absent in Breaking Bad. Nacho is that moral thug you're secretly rooting for. And he's no slouch intellectually.

After all the Fear bashing I put up with during Season 4
How is there not a full fledged riot after what happened to Rick freaking Grimes last night. Madison’s “death” was more plausible than what happened to Rick. Everyone is yucking it up about how a horse killed Rick, why isn’t there outrage over a random pile of steel rod concrete in the middle of no where. This is insanity to me, it has to be a joke.

I am good at finding things like this.......I found a bad audio edit
Season 4 Episode 11 on Netflix (not sure if they get different dubs of shows than originally on AMC).
37:00 in after Walt says “what” you can hear the dead audio switch just a bit and then “if you could kill me” is a drop dub in there of Mike’s voice, not Walt.

Why Mike grows to respect Jesse
I’ve been thinking about Mike’s relationship with Jessie in season 4, mainly how even though he grows to hate Walt, he respects Jessie for trying to kill Tomas’ killers even though he knew it would certainly mean he would be in trouble with Gus because he felt what they did was beyond excusable, very similarly to how we see Mike killing his son’s killers in the first season of Better Call Saul, even though there was no way he would get away with it without getting in trouble with the police. In both cases, they decide they are going to risk there lives and sacrifice their livelihoods to murder people who have killed people they care about, who are innocent (I know Tomas isn’t completely innocent but he’s certainly a victim and was manipulated to be a killer). Just a parallel I noticed.

What was the most shocking scene for you and why?
For me, the scene that shocked me was when Hank and Gomez were murdered. I remember watching that part and I was shocked for about a week. I was upset a tad bit, as Hank was overall a great character with excellent character development. And his bond with his family is something I enjoyed watching. Hank and Gomez relationship was something that was great to watch too.
To this day, every time I watch that scene, I am still shocked by it. And that is years later.

Just started watching Mindhunter, this show is awesome.
If I had to describe it in laymen's terms, it's like the video game LA Noire (detective mystery based in the 40s game) combined with prison(er) documentaries.
I love the focus of criminal psyche in it and how it takes place during the 70s, the way it showcases police investigation in that era. I was looking for a new crime drama to fill the void after watching The Wire earlier in this year. Mindhunter is doing just that but from a different perspective that I haven't seen yet. I love shows with captivating dialogue and cinematography too and I think this show does a good job in those aspects.
Any shows you guys would recommend me to check out after I finish Mindhunter? Currently on episode 6 and will probably finish it tonight.
EDIT: Holy crap, the start of episode 6 in intense.

Am I the only one who found the Werner arc just a bit ... thrown in? Like it wasn't honest writing, just added to get the characters somewhere?
I feel like they created a character with certain traits, and then just abruptly threw it all out and made him do a thing I believe Werner would never have really done.
He's an adult. He has a well-reasoned temperament. He knows a few months and then he and his wife live forever on easy street. He simply wouldn't do all this bullshit to have one day with her.
I feel like it was the cheapest writing in this universe that I've seen, just to get us to see Mike murder someone who didn't deserve it as part of his job.

[SPOILERS] How do you think the the War will go?
By the War I of course mean the war between humans and White Walkers, the second Long Night or whatever you want to call it.
In my mind the humans have a very small chance of victory. Let's sum up who are fighting on the side of the living (although a point can be made about the Others being alive as well but that's not the point), and what makes up the Army of the Dead.
Living: The armies of the North, led by House Stark and the Bastard Jon Snow The armies of Daenerys: the Unsullied, the Dothraki and what remains of the armies of Dorne and the Reach. And of course, two Dragons. The Free Folk, or what's left of it. They're stationed at the Wall which was, as we all know was destroyed. No numbers are known of the fighting force of the Free Folk. The armies of the Vale, which granted are pretty strong but I'm not sure how useful charges are against an already unorganized army of corpses. The Night's Watch, whose numbers have dwindled to an all time low. Jaime Lannister.
(If I forgot anyone please let me know)
Now the Army of the Dead: White Walkers, who can only be killed with either Dragonglass or Valyrian Steel, they can raise the dead. Human Wights, reanimated corpses who fight with incredible ferocity. They can only be killed by fire, by Dragonglass, Valyrian Steel or being shattered or broken apart. Animal Wights, for example the undead polar bear. Basically rabid, ferocious animals who die even harder. Viserion, an undead Dragon. He breathes blue flame.
And of course their strongest asset, everything killed by the Army of the Dead joins their ranks and becomes way deadlier than they were in life. If they kill a village with 100 warriors and 400 non-fighters, they gain 500 fighters.
Because of all these factors, especially the strength of the Army of the Dead, I really doubt the humans could win. Anything the humans have is basically useless without dragons or dragonglass.
Please share your thoughts too, convince me I'm wrong please.

New Watcher Looking for Opinions
I just started season 1 and I'm a few episodes in. So far im hesitant about continuing because the show is frustrating to watch.
Why are the characters so stupid? (ex: alicia and nick's mom not being the least bit careful around walkers that she knew when they were alive such as her coworker and calvin)?
Why don't the teens listen to their parents at all? (ex: alicia refuses to listen or comply at all and then will cuss at her mom for trying to do what is right)
Does the show actually get better after this point, or is it not worth watching?

What's up with people in /r/TheWalkingDead still circlejerking as if the show is still good? [S09E04 Spoilers]
Season 9, episode 4 is an abomination, especially how the episode ended.
In a wide open field, the only place Rick fell off his horse HAD to be on top of rebars. Not to mention how Rick and Daryl spent the whole episode sitting in a random hole in the middle of nowhere - Only trying to escape when a horde of walkers conveniently starts pouring into it.
I don't think we would've forgiven writing like that in /r/FearTheWalkingDead.

Different take on Season 4 (spoilers)
This sub almost unanimously hates season 4. I understand it. Theres things about it I hated but theres also some good. It wasnt perfect but it wasnt the shit show some say it is either. I binge watched season 2-4 over the past few weeks.
Starting season 4, I completely disliked it. Im not a Morgan fan. I didnt like his episode on walking dead a few seasons back. I think the character was interesting in small doses (loved his "clear" ark) but after becoming a main stay that just repeats the same corny lines to different characters and fights the same inner battles repeatedly, its old and I dread his dialogue. And lastly I dont like his weapon, its a stick.
But yeah, I thought things were bad when Fears main cast showed up at the end of the first episode like "star trek red shirts", very cheesy. Overall that first half wasnt a bad story for me. I thought it was interesting but I think the format and the way it was told, through flashbacks, made it annoying. Other thing i disliked was the villain in the second half.. so random. She was almost as random as proctor John. But the Proctor at least felt like a legitimate threat. The woman from season 4 was just very annoying and I rolled my eyes everytime she was involved in the story.
Now that the bad is out of the way. The 2 big deaths. I think Madisons death felt right. Once again I think it was told like shit. But her death felt epic and deserved. She had earned that flashy heros death but i do think it was sort of clouded because of it being told in flashback.. over a camp fire. I was initially really disappointed with Nicks death. Felt like he was killed off like a throwaway character. The core cast was so small at this point, there was only 3 people to mourn him and it just seemed undeserved. Felt like his character could have existed alongside Morgan. Disputes between him and Alesha (with Morgan acting as mediator) could have been interesting had it fleshed out. But after sleeping on it (here comes the unpopular part) I can forgive Nick and Madison's death because the new characters have developed more in 1 season then any of the other cast had in 4. With the exception of Salazar. Guy went from old man to the guy from Sicario.
The original characters (Madison, Victor, Nick) are the exact same characters they were on the yacht in season 2. Nick at the begining of the show is the young man, with infinite potential, and will faithfully randomly self destruct. Thats who he was at the dam, plus a girlfriend. Victor was a scheming con artist who put himself above anyone at all costs. In season 4 Victors that same guy.. but now hes an alcoholic. The same with Madison. Bull headed woman that would do anything for her children or her settlement. Death didnt impact these characters. Chris or his mom. Victor's boyfriend. Even Travis was relatively brushed off outside of a few mentions. I think Ophelias death might have been the closest to making an impact
I'm pretty sure half of you have already stopped reading and started shitting on this post. A lot of you wont agree with my opinion but I think June, Al, Charlie, John, and even the paper thin truckers are a better supporting cast then what was previously there. All these characters had descent development outside of John (I think hes a moral compass thats going to be tested regarding June at some point). If you just flat out dont like the characters, thats something different. I don't care for Morgans character but i can acknowledge hes had a hell of a story.
I think FTWD was supposed to be the walking dead, but a more grounded and realistic version. There werent over the top cartoony characters or villains. There was no sheriff, archer, samurai, or governor. The villains were bad men but they werent Negan, Termites, or even wolves. The villains were mostly Just greedy, not gimmicky or deeply driven by anything else. I think season 4 tried to make that shift. We got introduced to the Vultures, the Strong woman, the Cowboy, the reporter, the finder, etc.
I also wish the show hadnt felt pressured to change so dramatically but it did. That doesnt make it inherently bad.

Thank you Netflix for Castlevania!
I binged the second season over the weekend, and dear god this show is absolutely perfect. While I know people complained about the short season 1, I definitely feel like season 1 and 2 make for a very complete solid experience. Additionally season 2 had better animation than the first, and actually reaches moments of some of the best animation fight scenes I have seen in a long time.
The way this season ends is so good and honestly more shows should structure themselves this way. I won't put out any spoilers, but I was thoroughly satisfied with where it ended.
This show does so well in digging into the lore of Castlevania as well and putting in references in meaningful ways. Warren Ellis did an exceptional job in writing this show. This show has set the standard of how you adapt a video game. I hope we get a season 3 but only if Ellis is still writing.
I'll also say this. Netflix PLEASE pick up Berserk. The way this show is done would be absolutely perfect for Berserk. With this and Devilman Crybaby Netflix has shown that they know how to make genre stuff like this really well. I am happy to pay the monthly subscription to support material like this. Thank you for listening to fans and people like me, because Castlevania is truly a treasure of a show.

Opinion about Fear The Walking Dead season 4 characters
I just getting caught up with FTWD. I loved Nick’s character from the start plus his sister and pretty much all the originals. I love Chris’s Mom especially. Season four with Jenna and Maggie Grace just doesn’t feel right. I think because I’ve seen them in many roles and I don’t forget that when I’m watching. This maybe an unpopular opinion but while watching them act I think their agents told them getting dirty and acting in FTWD would help them become serious actors. One example where this worked for me was when Everybody Hates Chris actor was cast in TWD After one episode I forgot his previous character. Maybe that’s a sign of a good actor? Or great writing. Idk.

Doctor Who BBC overnight rating is 6.43 million. Looks like the show is still not faltering
Lots of people on here suggested the ratings of Doctor Who are faltering, when they don't seem to be. Hell, the Doctor switch may be just what the show needed. It is over 2 million ahead of X Factor (which traditionally would have been ahead). Doctor Who is actually 1.5 million short of the premiere, so it is not actually a massive drop since the series premiere.
Here are some ratings for last night:
DOCTOR WHO: 6.43m
STRICTLY: 9.14m
X FACTOR: 4.20m
L DRUMMER GIRL: 5.11m
INSIDE No 9: 0.73m
BUTTERFLY: 2.45m
Chances that Inside No 9 are so low due to the little stunt they pulled. Would be interesting to see how this changes once the iPlayer ratings are in.

They just introduced Gus Fring and she has no idea how important he is. Except, Netflix did put him on the title card, which is kind of a giveaway.

WHO IS MISSING AND WHY IT'S IMPORTANT. Norman, Melissa, JDM and Alycia were busy because they still had crazy long lines of fans waiting for them. This makes even more clear how wrong they were to give Morgan the main role instead of Alicia who is actually Fear fans favorite character.

Why is SNL so stingy about releasing episodes online or on DVD?
I know they have released the first 5 seasons on DVD, but after that, it is tough to locate complete seasons.
I am aware of the app, but it is incomplete; sketches and musical performances that I've wanted to view, I can rarely find.
It seems SNL and NBC are very protective of what is on YouTube.
So without compilation DVDs, without adequate online places to find old stuff, what is the rationale?
Am I missing another avenue to view old episodes?

Madison can easily become [Spoilers]
Of course TWD already casted Alpha, but story-wise she fits the description of Alpha in TWD comics.
If I could alternate the story, the direction will be like this:
If we assume that Madison is the only original character alive in s3 ending, then she can become Alpha.
It is possible. The hallucination that she encounter in s3 finale can give her the realization that no matter what she will destroy communities/compound. This will give her an idea that she won't be living in communities anymore, instead, she will live with nature. The most important theme in Feartwd since season 1 is how Nature is dangerous. Losing Nick, Alicia, and Strand will be her driving force to got this route. In this case, Madison and her new people will "camoflauge" and become Whisperers. Evidently, Robert Kirkman stated that the Whisperers originated or come from Mexico. Madison was in Mexico, so you know what it is.
If you are still doubt, Madison could be the very FIRST Alpha in the Whisperer group. This could mean that there are several alpha's that was replaced, which is not farfetched.

Vice Principals- A Damn Masterpiece
Everything about this series is fantastic.
Danny McBride and Walton Goggins play off each other perfectly. All of the supporting cast is great. It's hilarious and kind of oddly moving when it really shouldn't be.
The slow, but never even close to boring escalation of events is pulled off amazingly. HBO had a winner on its hands.
And I'm so happy David Gordan Green and McBride were able to tell the story they wanted to tell and get the hell out.
If you haven't watched it, I greatly encourage you to.

Binge watching Mock the Week is quite captivating
I have binge watched three series in the past few days.
It is like a little journey through history, and it is surprising how realistic some of the shit they are saying has turned out to be (notably comments on Trump). I have yet to get up to the episode after he is elected, but Hillary just won the primary in Mock the Week, and I am excited about where this is going.
The journey through British political history (and football history) of 5 years ago is also quite amazing. Again, realism here, particularly around the Scottish independence referendum and Brexit.
If you don't fancy reading a history book, watch 'Mock the Week'.
Milton Jones still does not grow on me, though. No matter how much I watch it. It seems that unlike the other guests, all the comedy he does has been lifted directly from his shows, which means they are jokes I have heard countless times before.
