Everyone's blaming ONE particular character, but who is REALLY to blame?

Hey everybody. In the last couple episodes I have seen a lot of people expressing hate for Henry. Saying how he's stupid, he's going to get people killed and how he should even die before that happens.

In the last episode (hence the spoiler warning), Henry decides to sneak out in the middle of the night to go rescue Lydia. And everyone is pissed at him.

But here's the thing. He's a 14 year old boy. He's filled with hormones, a sense of his own invulnerability and is smitten with a girl. When you were 14, how many stupid things did you do?

I really think the blame here goes to Daryl and Tara. Henry already tried to run away with Lydia. And he made it pretty clear to Daryl that it was eating him up inside. So how stupid are Daryl and Tara for not thinking that maybe a 14 year old boy would decide to go after the Whisperers? Both Tara and Daryl know about that escape tunnel at the woodpile. It's a great way to get out in an emergency. But wouldn't it make sense to post a guard there? Especially after Henry already used it once?

Henry is a kid and doesn't realize how his actions affect others. He's not an adult. There's a reason in this society we expect parents to keep an eye on their kids. Teenagers nowadays do all kinds of stupid things. Why is everyone down on Henry for being a normal teenager?

Yes, the stakes are much higher in the post-apocalyptic world that Henry lives in. Which is why Tara and Daryl should have had someone quietly keep an eye on Henry. And the guards spotted Magna's group leaving Hilltop... you would think they would be even more vigilant after the Whisperer confrontation.

So Tara, as the leader of the community, is to blame for not posting proper security. And Daryl, despite the fact that Michonne told him he was the "best judge of character" she knew, totally didn't think that Henry was going to do something stupid. And considering how many times Daryl has acted impulsively, he should have known.

I'm not saying Henry isn't doing something stupid that will endanger lives. I'm saying the wiser heads in Hilltop should have accounted for this. And Henry doesn't deserve all the hate or to die for being a teenager.

What do you think?

EDIT: Okay, apparently he's 17. That doesn't change the argument. 17 year old boys don't make a lot of smart decisions. Daryl and Tara should have anticipated that. Of course they could have resolved that oversight by saying they did have someone watching, but they got distracted and he slipped by them.
