If you haven’t completely finished the show do not continue to read this post it contains a major spoiler about the ending. With that being said there is a discussion I’ve had with other people who watched the show and wanted to get your opinions. Does Walt die in the last episode. I know it may seem like an obvious answer since he is laying there on the ground of the meth lab but I’m not sure he does.
If you think about it the injury which supposedly kills him is the wound in his stomach paired with the return of his cancer. The problem with this is that the wound came from shrapnel and not an actual bullet meaning it probably wouldn’t be fatal especially not in a short time. Another thing is that chemotherapy is known to cause blood clots which would mean the area would actually clot faster and cause him to lose less blood. Since the police get there in well under 30 minutes and are trained they would be able to help keep him alive with a somewhat minor injury like that.
Alone with that the police would do everything in their power to keep him alive. They want him to suffer for what he did. He is one of the last ones who knows the full story as we can see in the last season where he ties up all the loose ends. Jesse also knows some and has talked to the police but obviously Walt would know more and all of his motives and reasoning. The police would want to keep him alive to get a confession along with the real story and send him to jail for what he’s done. Him dying in a meth lab with a smile on his face means he went out on his own terms which is something else the police don’t want to happen.
Personally I hope Walt did die in the meth lab because I would like to see him go out his way but I’m not sure he does. What do you guys think, does Walt die or does he get saved and pay for what he did.
