Remember back in the very first episode of season 1 of The Walking Dead when Rick enters Atlanta and sees a helicopter hovering over? As far as I'm aware, when Darabont was still the show runner the intention was for this helicopter to be a very early tease for the Governor and Woodbury as he had planned to introduce them as early as season 2. Obviously that whole idea was scrapped and everyone was forced to give up on any kind of conclusion coming from that. But do you think it's possible the writers might end up writing that in to be a part of the current story and that they might be connected to the group that took Rick in season 9? Maybe this was Scott Gimple's plan since season 7 or 8 when we first started seeing the helicopters and other UFOs again. Maybe that's when they started thinking about a conclusion to the series and wanted to tie in the helicopter from season 1 and season 2 into that? I think that would be an awesome idea. Maybe somehow this group might be connected to the outbreak of the virus, or maybe they're a part of a much larger scheme in the universe as a whole? Maybe they hold the key to the ending of the show? I think that would be really cool because it would give the show an actual purpose and goal. What do you guys think?
