robert kirkman the comic book writer and scott gimple the tv show director have both stated multiple times that the show is only inspired by the comic. Characters arcs mean nothing because put simply the tv show and the comic book are 2 separate things. If you have no idea of those simple facts you are not a fan of the walking dead. You can compare character arcs all you want but it is no point.
