Was there a better year for sci fi than 1996? Babylon 5, Star Trek DS9 & VOY, Stargate SG-1, Sliders, The X-Files, Space Precinct, Space Above and Beyond, The Outer Limits, 3rd Rock from the Sun, SeaQuest DSV, and Early Edition were all airing at virtually the same time?!
Nine year old me would never again have it so good. Can you believe I thought that this was 'normal' for television? Every day of the week my family would have at least one legendary top tier show to watch. Some nights, we had 'blocks' of 2-3 shows in a row. I long for that time.
Can you imagine watching Babylon 5 on one channel, then switching to Deep Space Nine, then getting sodas to hunker down for SeaQuest DSV? And the 'pop shows' like 3rd Rock From the Sun and Early Edition were STILL nominally science fiction! Beyond Reality reruns! Are You Afraid of the Dark late night on Snick! AHHHHHHHHH!
I can't remember the details anymore but I distinctly remember some insane Friday night lineup that went Sliders -> (space show) -> Stargate and I was like huh this TV thing is pretty good! What's this new show? DEXTER'S LAB? Love it! On Cartoon Network? Goku and friends go to Planet Namek! Seems normal for an anime, right? After all, every single other show is sci fi! And the last seasons of the Adventures of Pete & Pete and Tales from the Crypt...

A little discrepancy with the plot concerning Jessie **Spoilers**
I'm just gonna go ahead say this outright, this is nit picky. So this is my first rewatch and I haven't watched the show since it was on the air. I am at the point when they are working for Gus and Hank is in recovery from his accident. I had this thought a few episode back though. After Jessie buys back his aunt's house from his parents, he obviously was able to make the deal with his parents due to the specific legal discrepancies, so that makes sense that he would be able to pay them in cash. However, he would still have to pay property taxes on the house. Up to this point and several episodes after, I don't believe he is laundering his money. Though, I could be wrong. Furthermore, we learn when he is trying to sell the meth he cooked to the cashier at the gas station that he doesn't have a bank account. Do you think that in real life this would result in Jessie getting audited by the IRS for not having documented income? I could be all wrong, but an interesting thing to point out. Still love the show and the writing is even better than I remember.

[SPOILERS] What characters did you come around to liking only because of their portrayal in the show?
My #1 go-to for these conversations is Oberyn Martell. I know he was a fan favorite for many even pripr to the show but I found him generally boring and did not care much about hos fate except for how it affected Tyrion. However, Pedro Pascal dripped charisma and made me love the character.
Similarly, Varys was mildly annoying in the books and bland when not irking me. However Conleth Hill brought that suave intrigue to the character that I felt GRRM never did.
Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont and Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell are two others I like in the show but am indifferent to in the books but I think that has a lot more to do with the increased prominence of each in the adaptation
All that said, the person who fundamentally changed my entire opinion on a character -- bringing them from someone I despised to someone I actually sympathized with and felt genuine feelings for -- was Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy. Even in ADWD, I had no feelings for Reek. I did not take pleasure in what Ramsay did and was doing to him, but wasn't very moved either. From his rape of the captain's daughter en route to Pyke up through his sacking of Winterfell, he fell further and further from my already dim view of him but Alfie brought such pathos and pity to the character that Ramsay forcing him to watch him rape Sansa was probably one of the most gut wrenching moments of the show to me. Truly a magnificent portrayal.

Anyone like Madison??
First some context: I have only just recently begun watching FearTWD (currently S3E9) and have had literally zero knowledge of the show in any, way, or form (not a review, subred discussion... nothing. I literally have zero gauge & awareness of all things FTWD, and so this is a serious question: Do you/ppl in general LIKE Madison and root for her?? Bc I personally don't HAAATE her -- like I HAAAATED that ugly-ass chubbo Chris -- but I do find myself hating her like 90% the time. I mean, what are we SUPPOSED to feel about her, as intended by the writers/show? Love ... hate ... or is she simply SUPPOSED to be a polarizing/complex character that viewers are supposed to be unsure & confused about???

Finished *Lost* for the first time
So last night I watched the series finale of Lost - began from S1E1 back in February and worked my way through it slowly.
Honestly having seen the ending now, knowing that a lot of people hate it I have to ask - why is this ending hated by so many people? While parts of the mythology regarding the island in S6 may have felt a bit rushed, I thought the ending of the show was beautiful and did justice to the characters.
What questions that weren't answered are people so angry about? Ultimately, I think that while parts of the plotting were wobbly at times (later on in the series), the show was always emotionally potent and that is what makes me love this type of show.
Similar to The Leftovers (which is a better show, but that is beside the point: it has the Lindelof connection) - I can accept plenty of unexplainable crazy shit if it evokes strong emotions/feelings.
Ultimately, to me, a lot of the potential questions that could be asked of "Lost" or "The Leftovers", could be answered with "who cares?" - because why should everything have a neat, tidy explanation?
I'm satisfied. Lost isn't a perfect show by any means, but I disagree with those that think the finale flopped.

One of the most original shows is ending this season and deserves more hype. Legion.
It's crazy to me how slept on Legion appears to be.
It is by far one of the most original and interesting shows on television. It's final season is airing now and it is so absorbing, I've never really seen anything like it.
Everything from the characters, acting, plot to the costumes, aesthetics and writing, this show has been incredible. Does it even get Emmy nods?
Dan Stevens deserved some recognition for his portrayal of this character. And don't get me started on Aubrey Plaza.
I don't want to spoil anything in case people decide to watch it but if you want to watch something that you can't predict what might happen, watch this show.
If you love the superhero genre, watch it. If the superhero genre isn't your thing, watch it!!!
After all the hype, controversy and all the rest about the GOT final and Legion out here just wrapping up with absolute style and no one bats an eyelid!!!

There is speculation that this next season is going to be the last and it scares for many reasons.
-
There will most likely be 10 episodes (possibly 9 if you include a gene episode) and i just don’t see they make a impactful ending to it?
-
Like i said, gene’s story arc could also be uneventful due to lack of scenes
Idk, maybe im just freaking out? After all, its not confirmed that there will only be 10 episodes let alone a final season.
Any worries you guys have?

Surgery painkillers thoughts
Okay, so one that really struck me while rewatching S4E10 "Salud" is when Walt mentioned that he took some leftover painkillers from his (S2) surgery and washed it down with a couple of beers. (He specifically used it as an excuse for why he was so out of it when talking to Walt Jr. Admittedly, he was incredibly out of it, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was telling the truth.)
Anyway, this struck a chord with me, especially given the topic of the show and the period of time it took place in -- around 2009, while the opioid crisis was rapidly becoming worse. (Not-so-fun fact: the DEA recently released extensive data on prescription opioids for the US opioid crisis between 2006 and 2012. Go check it out.) It's rather likely that the painkillers that Walt was prescribed post-surgery was an opioid, likely OxyContin or Vicodin. This would make sense as the painkillers Walt consumed in "Salud" -- opioids are known to be a common prescription painkiller where leftovers just kind of... linger around the house. (And possibly become a foothold for addiction.) It's just a thought...
But it also got me back to thinking about Walt's surgery in S2E13 -- if Walt was taking an opioid prescription, hell, he was taking it right after witnessing Jane die of heroin overdose. And even further back -- many cancer treatment plans have opioids as a common pain relief medication. It's possible that Walt had taken opioids throughout S1 and S2, possibly even abused them a little in S3 for a bit during his depression slump. Nothing severe, like Jesse, but still enough that it would've possibly been hypocritical or contradictory to his attitude towards Jesse and Jane's heroin addiction. There are definitely short scenes of unreality during S1 where mild (prescription) drug use seems feasible.
Either way, this is all complete speculation. Could or could not have been the case. There's no real evidence that this happened, and the only reason I'm even contemplating it is because I'm interested in the implications of it, as well as how it fits into the context of Breaking Bad. I'm just throwing this out there because I've been thinking about it for a while now.

S3E4 during the handyman scheme, Kim asks Jimmy if he's sure he has the right person for the job. He brags that he has "the creme of the creme"
This means Kim is aware that Jimmy has connections for doing somewhat shady work. Perhaps later in BCS Kim gets in a situation where she will need Mike, and a partnership forms? Or this angers Mike and he asserts to Jimmy/Saul that he should keep her out of such shady underworld

Paul, the Sprint guy who used to be the Verizon guy, is such a terrible company mascot. I hate these commercials.
I don't watch live TV anymore, so it's rare I'll see a commercial, but when I see online ads on my phone, for some reason it's almost always Sprint commercials, and I have to watch Paul, the blandest human being alive, tell me about how he used to be with Verizon, but now he's with Sprint. Fascinating stuff, Paul!
With other mascots, you can call them annoying, but it's not entirely the actor's fault, since ultimately the company is the one who decides what personality traits their mascot will have. But Paul is played by Paul Marcarelli, an actor who has literally done nothing else of note. He's just playing himself as... a guy. A guy who isn't funny, or interesting. He just stands there and tells you about Sprint. That's it.
Who is Sprint trying to win over with these commercials? Certainly not the younger demographic, because they either weren't alive or weren't old enough to remember the sentient piece of cardboard known as Paul.
For context, Verizon's "Can you hear me now?" campaign was started in 2002, and ended in 2011. For some reason, Sprint thinks Paul still has relevancy in 2019. He doesn't.
Thank you for reading my anti-Paul essay. It was clearly worth writing, and definitely not a complete waste of time on my part.

Fake Spoilers
I just finished breaking bad for the first time and i’m at a loss for words. But one thing that bugged me the whole time is that if you search on youtube “walter junior” one of the recommendations is “walter junior death”. I was searching for a clip of him when early into the show and i saw that and was mad at myself for searching for anything relating to the show before finishing it because i had seen that. Throughout the whole show i was tense in any scene with walter jr in it because i thought eventually he was going to die. I was so tense all throughout season five because i knew his death was imminent. you can probably imagine my confusion after the final end credits but now i just want to know if there’s just some group who searches things like that to make fake spoilers pop up because i mean on one hand it made the show more interesting to watch but on the other kinda sucked because the whole time i thought i had truly spoiled it for myself and now it just leaves me with confusion. and the thing is there’s not even any video on youtube with that title besides one where it’s just a mix of two clips of walt talking about poison and then the scene where walt jr drinks with hank and walt and passes out. it kinda messed up watching the show for me.

Intelligent walkers
I wonder if anyone thought about this. Last season, John and June left the cabin to go upriver and repair that bridge. They found walkers were toppling over the side into the river and floating downstream. They fixed the gap with fencing. That night, a group of walkers were tearing away the fencing, toppling into the river, floating downstream, rising up from the water at the cabin and descending onto a silent, darkened cabin. How is that not preplanned action by walkers who are only supposed to be attracted to sound and light? I thought they were revealing an evolution of the walkers, but that has not happened.

My thoughts on Season 4 and up to episode 4 on season 5
I’m not sure how the new show runners could go off the rails this bad. Season 4A, while flawed had a good setup, the Madison death or death fakeout was stupid. Killing Nick was also stupid. Having it be Charlie in the way it happened also made the audience probably never forgive that character.
4B went completely off the rails, the trucking characters are/were way too cartoonish, and the villain was horrible, they never really proved the moral of their story with her, the only way at all helping her ever helped them out was when she let Morgan know she spiked the water with antifreeze, but they should have killed her about 5 times before that happened. There was also way too much telling instead of showing to get Morgan in the leadership role.
For what I’ve watched of 5, I think it’s a lot of the same, it says something when you are agreeing with literal children over your cast of characters in the first episode. Also, they should really learn to focus on one villain a season, or split their time in a more constructive way. The Vultures should have been all of last season. The guy that took the factory back could have been an interesting antagonist for this one, but they prefer to jump around in what feels to be am aimless direction.

Fuck S4 and 5, those hot garbage seasons are freaking parody shows compared to the first 3 seasons. They're both non-canon to me.
In my opinion, Season 3 ended on a good note.

The Boys is probably the best first season I have ever seen
Im so incredibly impressed. I loved the dark, almost horror take of it. I was a fan of the comic but I think the changes give it an entirely new twist.
Great cast all around. Homelander especially really delivered . But everyone did.
Ive been a fan of Eric Kripke since supernatural first aired and wow . This is one of the best first seasons ive ever seen, along with penny dreadful and walking dead.

My Brother's Walking Dead McFarlane Collection
https://i.redd.it/30whecrfr4d31.jpg
My brother has been collecting these figures for years. He has recently completed the smaller set with 58 in the McFarlane range so far, this is a pretty old pic I will update next time I visit the family as apparantly he has bought a load of the larger figures recently. Think the total cost for all the figures was over £4,000. While I admit its a great collection I don't think they're worth 4 grand. What do you guys think?

When and why did Scott Gimple become so terrible?
He used to be amazing, he’s written some of my favorite episodes in the first three seasons before he took over and even then 4 and 5 are amazing seasons. Did something happen to him behind the scenes? I’ve noticed that the return of Morgan and from seasons 6-8, most of not ALL of the dialogue is about cherishing life and not being brutal. Which is honestly pretty lame for a zombie apocalypse show and it’s the same case for Fear the Walking Dead.

The Unused Potential of Maddison
My biggest wish for this show that won’t happen anymore was to have Maddison and the crew turn into antiheroes, more specifically turn into whisperers.
I’m not sure about Maddison becoming Alpha since there’s no one in FTWD that could really play the role of Lydia, but I’m going to play devil’s advocate with this idea.
Over the span of Season 4a we could’ve had the Proctors after our group, Maddison would slowly become crazy (much like how Alpha is in the main show) under the pressure of trying to keep her children and her group alive and safe. The mid season finale could’ve ended with her killing all the Proctors and letting walkers eat them (Savage Rick Grimes style) and shaving all her blood stained hair off.
Season 4b would have Madison and some other people in the group using walkers to their advantage by using the guts trick and disguising themselves as walkers. Over the second half of this season we would see not only Maddison, but most of the crew developing the Whisperer philosophy.
In the season finale we would have a major character from the crew stand up to Maddison and basically tell her what she’s doing and how she’s leading the group is messed up, they would gather some supplies from the groups stash and when confronted they would hold Maddison at gunpoint. When they say they’re leaving and they don’t want any trouble, Maddison would kill them. my vote for who this character would be is Strand.
We would see the group in shock but Maddison would comfort the group by assuring them it’s alright and that Strand was weak and if he wasn’t going to die now he would’ve later. She’d give a speech about how they have to adapt to survive and in the closing scene we would see her alone with her back to the camera stitching something together... (a walker mask)
What are your guys thoughts on this direction the show could’ve taken?

I have a lot of quotes from this show that I absolutely love, of course there is the "I am the danger" monologue and any scary Heisenberg monologue really but what about funny lines? Krazy-8 was a DEA informant. I know this is obvious to most seeing as they literally say it out loud in the show but after reading many posts on this sub I’ve noticed not everyone understood that whole plot point. Think of the repercussions that would’ve taken place had Walt let Krazy-8 go free.

Rewatch 4x06 “Piñata”, particularly the scene where Jimmy gets a call from the beneficiary of one of his recently deceased clients. It’s arguably Jimmy’s lowest moment, a moment that reflects what Chuck took away from him.
And what’s playing in the background?
A pan flute cover of “The Winner Takes it All”. If you’ve seen the rest of the season you’ll know the significance. It blew my mind when I first heard it.

Anyone else have super low expectations for the show before they watched it?
I was just thinking about the first time I saw “Better Call Saul!” – the episode of Breaking Bad.
When I first saw this episode I thought that the show had jumped the shark. I thought “Here it is. I knew this show couldn’t stay this good. I knew they’d mess it up, and here it is.” I though he was too hammy and cartoony for the show’s tone up to that point. I was familiar with Bob Odenkirk, and I thought it was a bad choice to cast him in a drama like Breaking Bad. Over the course of that season, I changed my mind. I thought his comic relief was placed appropriately and his character made more sense as the show went on; there really are tacky lawyers like that in real life!
Then it was announced that there was going to be a spin-off of Breaking Bad about Saul Goodman called Better Call Saul. Oy. Right of the bat, it sounded like a cheap cash-grab. How could it possibly be anything else? These guys got lucky with a stellar TV show, now they don’t have any new ideas so they’re going to squeeze what they can out of the first one. Blech.
Then I heard people say that it wasn't that bad, that it was actually pretty good. It's not what you think, it's actually well-written and interesting. No way, I thought. Let me just take a look...
This show is my favorite show ever. I have never eaten my words so hard ever before. I went from expecting crap to being pleasantly surprised, to becoming a fan, to becoming obsessed. Anyone else think the same thing? Or were most people cautiously optimistic?

How I think Madison should return
I would like it at the end of 5B. Morgan has completed his arc as a leader and is heading off to the Rick movies. As for how Madison is introduced? She finds out Charlie killed Nick and shoots her just like she did him. I feel like it would really reset the fear tone for Season 6, introduce Madison as the Negan/Governer she was always meant to be, and solidify the showrunners want to put the fear back in fear the walking dead. Part of me feels like putting the Fear back is the only thing that’ll save this almost sunk ship.

[Spoilers] Jon and Dany’s relationship truly doomed ending of series.
I know I’m opening old wounds, but there are many, many things the final season got wrong and hurt the series. But in terms of final events and drama, Jon killing Dany, which I thought would and should have happened, didn’t have one ounce of drama. I feel this is because of the shortened seasons and quick pace during the last 2 seasons. It was suppose to have that shock value of 2 people who are truly in love and destined for one other, who one can’t live without the other, who are so in love their aunt-nephew relationship doesn’t mean anything?. Your story book true love feel. So when Jon does kill her, you should feel the pain he feels of killing his one true love. But that wasn’t there in the least bit. There was not enough time spent on their relationship and the growth. No one watching the show can say they thought he loved Dany more than Ygritte. His relationship with Ygritte felt WAY more deeper than his with Dany.

Final Scene of Season 4 Appreciation Thread
After watching that final scene of Season 4 where Jimmy finally becomes Saul, I just have to say, my god. What a wonderfully written and acted scene. If Bob Odenkirk doesn’t finally win an Emmy for that “sincere” testimony, I will smash my television.
I completely fell for it and that was the point. Us the fans and Kim have been waiting and waiting to see Jimmy open up about his brother’s death, but he’s been closed off all season. Now, at the end, when he decides to go against his initial plan and not read Chuck’s letter, I thought this was it. Jimmy’s truly broken by Chuck’s death and he’s going to open up about it. I got choked up when he said “I’m lucky I got this letter. I never had a chance to write him a letter and tell him all the things that I should have. And I gotta believe that somehow, somehow he knows.” God, that was heart wrenching and I was in Kim’s shoes and the board’s shoes.
Then he walks out and says, “Did you see those suckers? That one asshole was crying!” And I went from emotions to complete and utter shock. Jimmy essentially called the viewers suckers for falling for his testimony. And it was goddamn brilliant. Odenkirk crushed that scene and Rhea Seehorn was terrific as well. She is beyond speechless. She felt betrayed, confused and it really showed by the look on her face.
I just wanted to express my thoughts on the scene and everyone can feel free to post what they think too. Were you guys “assholes who were crying” like I was?

Recently restarted walking dead on Netflix. In episode 2 Rick and Glenn escape the department store from a crowd of zombies and jump in a box truck and drive away. Rick Grimes throws the truck into reverse and backs up while turning around and looking over his right shoulder, in between the driver and passenger seat. Seeing as this is a box truck with no rear windshield Rick is staring directly into the wall of the truck cabin completely blind, instead of looking into the side mirrors on the doors of the truck. Has anyone else noticed this or am I way late to the party?

We have heard that the series is going to take a new direction in S6 and that we will see this begin at the end of S5. What if the show completely resets from the beginning. Everyone on the show is pretty much infected with radiation. What if every character on FTWD is killed off on the S5 finale and S6 starts in a brand new city with brand new characters, right at the beginning of the Walker Apocalypse?
Thoughts?

[Mod Raven] Throne Pool participants, here are your trophies!
No matter which team you picked to join for the Throne Pool, we hope everyone who took part was able to enjoy the communities! As a reward for participating, our friendly neighborhood admins will be giving out some trophies that will display on your profile pages.
TROPHIES
Anyone who took part in the Throne Pool will be receiving this trophy on their user profile. Your character may not have won, but everyone should have something to remember it by.
Anyone who picked r/nobodywinsthethrone will receive this trophy, given that there was, in fact, no Iron Throne by the end of the series.
Anyone who picked r/branwinsthethrone will receive this trophy. Bran may not be atop the Iron Throne, but he does reign over the ashes, and the rest of the seven six kingdoms.
Anyone who picked r/sansawinsthethrone will receive this trophy. She didn't win THE throne, but she did win an important one, so Team Sansa is getting a trophy too.
A huge thank you to the admins who made this feature possible. They've been so helpful facilitating our ideas because they wanted to help the Thrones fandom on Reddit get a little extra out of S8. Seven blessings to you all.

Saul brings up the basement meth lab so that Jesse can buy his family home, Walter throws a pizza on his house in frustration and to spite Skylar, Tuco’s uncle reveals Walter’s identity. Walter Jr. shows up at Walter’s door, too! Riveting and incredibly entertaining.

Rewatched 3x08 out of context
Blew my mind.
And I'm not fanboying here, it was objectively a better television.
- Location variety and panning shots gave a feeling of almost a feature film. The helicopter shots over the landscape looked magnificent.
- Sound design and music by Paul Haslinger (of Resident Evil and Underworld and Tangerine Dream fame, whom Hans Zimmer himself helped to move to USA when he was a young composer, but that's beside the point) were much more intense and elevated meaning of scenes. For example, when Nick was digging out the skull, that could easily have been a mundane scene if it wasn't highlighted by the weight of the sound design. And don't let me start on the ending montage!
- Characters had stakes in the story on a personal level, and it made it very easy to relate to them. The weight of the situation was felt in interactions. Characters didn't have time to turn to demagogy, but had to face the truth at hand, or be dead.
- There was a true conflict between grey sides with their own principles and reasons why they were right, while main characters were caught up in all that and had to make their own choices.
- The Strand scenes could be a stand alone short movie on their own. Not to mention it was the most extensive "exploration" of the wider TWD universe than it was ever done before or after.
So now comparing it to the current Fear, it's obvious that they need:
- Have a real stakes story where one cannot hide behind mythical "good" values. So far they could have afforded to do "good", because there was no one to kill them. They need to add something to test these values, put them under pressure again. Our characters believing in good doesn't mean much without their values tested. Original Fear characters have gone through hardships before, and there is a big opportunity to have them wake up from slumber again when Morgan is no longer able to protect them with his preaching.
- Introduce variety of settings. Looks like they partially going to do that in S5B. More variety breaks monotony, makes the show look more interesting.
- Have more intense and present sound design and music. Entire scenes can be salvaged by correct music choice. Put Morgan's speech on top of a pulsing thriller music and you can turn him into a maniac.
Sorry, wanted to type it out while it was fresh in my mind.

Where was Walt hiding when he came out and shot two of Gus’s henchmen? [Spoilers for Season 4]
In the last episode of Season 4 after Gus get killed and during the start of the scene where they burn down the lab. Jessie is handcuffed to the big container in the methlab, one of Gus’ henchmen comes down the elevator and the other guy who’s in the lab with Jesse goes there to meet him. He says ”What? Do you have a problem with the stairs?” and then suddendly Walter showes up and shoots them both.
The way it’s shot is very confusing to me. Where was Walt hiding? He just pops up behind a corner somewhere. He couldn’t have been in the elevator, where would he hide? And he wasn’t in the lab was he? Or am I missing something here?

Need some help with a project....calling all TWD die hard fans.
So I know this might not be the Best place to post this but I think some of you will have fantastic suggestions being fans.
I am currently making a miniature graveyard scene based on the TV show. All graves are past characters who have died, and each one has some sort of reference(either an item or a quote) to the character. Examples: Sophia's is painted with the same design as her t-shirt, Abraham has a box of cigars, Carl has a tin of pudding..first grave says "This is our extinction event", etc.
I need something for Andrea, Hershel and Sasha.....
Any suggestions?? I am considering the veterinary symbol for Hershel but I just don't think it is good enough. Thoughts?

Werner Ziegler and the myth of Orpheus
After finishing the season 4, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the two stories. Here's the short version of the myth from Britannica:
With his singing and playing he charmed the ferryman Charon and the dog Cerberus, guardians of the River Styx. His music and grief so moved Hades, king of the underworld, that Orpheus was allowed to take Eurydice with him back to the world of life and light. Hades set one condition, however: upon leaving the land of death, both Orpheus and Eurydice were forbidden to look back. The couple climbed up toward the opening into the land of the living, and Orpheus, seeing the Sun again, turned back to share his delight with Eurydice. In that moment, she disappeared.
The obvious parallels are descent into the underworld and looking back afterwards, but it goes deeper than that.
Fring is here king of the underworld, both literary and figuratively. He controls the drug network and underworld under the washers.
I'd guess that Mike is Cerberus. It's clear that the two bonded and Werner persuaded both him and Fring that he's the right man for the job.
Would love to hear what you think!

Just finished the series for the very first time.....I thought I was speechless until I tried writing all this
And I am in utter disbelief at how incredible it all was. It did not let down for even a second on its march to the end. I totally get the hype now, and can’t wait to start Better Call Saul. The last two seasons were masterpieces of their own, but from the episode Hank finds the Walt Whitman book at The White’s, on, was so incredibly stressful and nerve wracking. Have never felt that way for so much of a show. Every episode added to the suspense and the tension all released to some of the biggest and longest built payoffs I’ve ever witnessed in a show. Hands down one of the best, and also favorite, story lines I’ve ever had the chance to watch. This show had it all; the character arcs, the realism, the grit, the humor, the shocks and twists, the care and hope developed for each member of the story, the insanely brilliant moves made by all, the deceit, the flat out amazing last season and last 3-5 episodes. WOW

Sarah tells Logan the truck she is driving is the same one she stole from Clayton, but this is wrong because the truck she stole from Clayton was blown up by the Filthy Woman in S4 E14.

HELP The Walking Dead
Throughout the first half of this season, I was rolling my eyes each time a character said the word "Help", so, after the glorious mid-season finale I decided to count how many times it was said in each episode, here are the results:
E01 Here to Help: 21 times, plus the title
E02 The Hurt That Will Happen: 21 times,
E03 Humbug's Gulch: 9 times,
E04 Skidmark: 21 times,
E05 The End of Everything: 1 time, only because it was revolved around Althea, and there was no character that they would "help"
E06 The Little Prince: 16 times,
E07 Still Standing: 18 times,
E08 Is Anybody Out There?: 22 times.
Therefore -as once said by the great new character Logan, who was initially thought to be the villain, until we discovered there is no actual villain at all, or maybe the true villain is the friends we made along the way-, I have a proposition, how about we change the name of the series to Help The Walking Dead? it is only logical by now.

FTWD Needs to Do These Things to Save Itself
- Give us a story that divides the group. They all can agree to want to help people but there needs to be different thoughts on how best to approach that.
- Go an entire episode without someone trying to contact someone else over a walkie talkie.
- Kill off June. Dorie is way more interesting and if they have the same 'I never thought I'd see you again' conversation ONE MORE TIME... Plus, the show absolutely needs to kill someone as there is now zero risk. We lose not one single copy of The Little Prince, let alone any characters and that undermines any sense of suspense in the series.
- Luciana needs to do more than be the broken-armed librarian. She's a badass. Everyone seems to have forgotten this.
- More/different relationships and romance developing. Now that everyone has gotten on that goddamned plane and finally is all in one spot, let's *develop some stuff*. What about Dwight and Luciana? They're struggling over lost loves and bond or something. It doesn't even have to be a romance. Just... interaction. Friendship. There are now like 10+ consistent characters on the show-- develop them. Mix them up. Stop having the same ones have the same conversations. The best interactions of the seasons so far have been shaking up the character allotments and trying out new combinations (see: Dwight & Dorie's friendship and Daniel & Charlie.)
- More Grace. Karen David is really good. The best new character is the one that should be dying or something but whatever, just more, please.
- Go dark. Really dark. It needs conflict. It needs Morgan going a little nuts. It needs Alicia rising up. I want a plot in which Dwight is the happiest and most centered character on this show. We need some disaster to happen that causes at least a couple of these previously kind of dark characters to revert back a bit.
- An antagonist, please. These characters need someone a group of someones to be fighting against and I don't mean a guy in a baseball hat who has a black eye and couldn't even manage to toss their hangout right. I mean like an actual, threatening group of characters. We need a whole team of people who do not give a f*ck about helping other people and their godawful, terrible, terrifying leader-- stat. Or, a group that wants to help but has some totally messed up ideas about what that looks like (like, oh say, The Helicopter People!).

This season has been missing a franchise staple
Seriously, nobody has died in season 5.
This is a show set in the walking dead universe, and we have gone 8 episodes without a death. That is ridiculous.
Now, I know that this show doesn't exactly have a decent enough cast to be killing people off, but I have lost all worry at all.
The worst part is, there have been a few situations where characters probably should've, or could've died to actually raise tensions a little, but the show is too scared to do it it seems:
-
Dwight should've been eaten when John split that fucking bullet
-
Charlie could've accidentally walked into the traps Daniel was disarming and died (I wish)
-
Beanie girl should've died when that one walker fell on top of her

Fuck all of the kids should be dead, how the fuck do they have the strength to tie up walkers?
Even grace, who is irradiated, and apparently gonna die, isn't dying. Like she just said she's gonna die, but Alicia, who had the same thing happen to her, is gonna be fine because main character. I bet they save grace for a season finale death.
Compared to the main show, fear doesnt feel dangerous at all. The villains aren't a threat, neither are the walkers. It's way too safe.

Nacho and his Dad
I was just rewatching BB and I had a thought about how Nacho and his dad, Manuel, could potentially get out from the threat of the Salamancas and Gus Fring. I could see it being a possibility that Nacho and his Dad go through the same vacuum salesman that smuggled Walt to New Hampshire and Saul to Nebraska in BB. I still think that Nacho isn’t gonna make it out alive in BCS. I could see it going down as Manuel is waiting by where the van picks them up, but I could see that En route to the pickup,Nacho is killed by Lalo. It would make for a very emotional scene where the vacuum man says that he has to go, but Manuel says he can’t leave without his son. Manuel is smuggled away in tears, knowing his son never made it out. Just a theory, so feel free to leave your thoughts as well!

What I would like to see in the finale
I want the opening minutes to show us all the characters we’ve lost over the years, like where they died and whatnot. We see Amy’s grave, Jim dead as a walker, the CDC, Dale’s grave, Shane’s body in the field, Andrea’s grave, Hershel and the Governor in the prison field, Lizzie and Mika’s graves, Beth’s grave, Tyreese’s grave, Whats left of Noah in the sliding door, Abe’s and Glenn’s graves, Sasha’s grave, Carls grave, the bridge where rick “died”, Jesus’ grave and all the pike victims graves, and anyone else that dies in the next seasons. I don’t know, I think it’d be a cool way to show us how far we’ve been and how much we’ve lost and give us a nostalgic trip down memory lane, showing the Quarry, the Grady Memorial hospital, all the locations that could easily be CGI’d or something. Just a thought though.

(Spoiler)What I don't get about the Dwight/Sherry plotline.
Am I to understand that from Virginia to Texas, Sherry has been leaving behind notes and clues to lead Dwight to her? The distance between Alexandria, VA and Austin TX is over 1500 miles. Sometimes you have to suspend disbelief for the show(s), bit this sounds a bit ridiculous.

[VM ep. 8 Spoilers] Better Call Saul reference in Season Four of Veronica Mars?
When JK Simmons’s character is in Keith Mars’s office, he talks about why he took the job with Big Dick. He says something like, “When I got out, I was a sixty-year-old ex-con whose only experience was robbing banks. What was I supposed to do, work at Cinnabon?”
I think it’s too specific not to be a nod... thoughts?

Do you all remember when people were saying that Abraham was the crossover character for season 4?
I just randomly remembered this fact a few minutes, but then I started thinking. The Abraham crossover would have been so much better than Morgan could have ever been.
For one, if it was telling Abraham’s story after his family had died then it would also mean that we would have potentially gotten the season 4 premiere we all wanted and should have gotten.
The dam exploding would have been a great way for any story to start, but no they had to do a timeskip with only to introduce Morgan. Not only in my eyes is Abraham a better character than Morgan, but he’s also could have told such a better story then Morgan’s “All life matters” bullshit.
Just imagine it, Madison and Nick trying to comfort Abraham fucking Ford after his family had died. Now that is the seasons 4-5 that we all deserved!

I just watched the midseason finale. Here's why it was terrible:
- That's the worst rendition of "Personal Jesus" I've ever heard, over that radio montage
- The "is Alicia going to die from radiation" plot line would be more interesting if they hadn't shown her alive and kicking in the Season 5B trailer already. And Exposition Lady relieved all tension by telling her she's going to be okay. They could've kept us wondering so the episode would have a little excitement...
- Naked showering Alicia tho.
- This is Texas and it's not the winter. Why is everyone always wearing sweaters and jackets?
- Morgan convinces Alicia to join his yoga class.
- Everyone hides in the truck by ducking down a little. It works because the writing says it does.
- Then one walker sees them, so Exposition Lady forgets how to drive and crashes, so then they have to exit the truck for added tension.
- The scene between Trucker Lady and Trucker Guy is so boring you'd swear Morgan was talking.
- John and Dwight's car dies conveniently. For the first time, they acknowledge gasoline is going bad. (Gas lasts 18 months tops, and here we are 6 years into the apocalypse...)
- Walkie talkie also stops working conveniently.
- Let's lead these walkers directly to the children and our plane.
- Morgan and his stupid fucking stick. It's just like a baby with its favorite pacifier.
- Let's all walk backwards slowly for a quarter mile, instead of dispatching these walkers one by one, or running to lose them completely.
- This whole truck plane thing is ridiculous. I have no words.
- Morgan's stick is strong enough to cut through walkers like butter, but Exposition Lady snapped it in two like a twig. Haha, fuck you Morgan. And he thanks her for it, because he's a little bitch.
- A wheelchair-bound man living this long into the apocalypse is unbelievable. His spiky chair back is just as ridiculous. Stopping his crawling to use the walkie talkie is also ridiculous - just shut up and do the thing.
- Dan the Man and Mo Mo meet at last! Too bad there's no Jimbo's Beerbos to celebrate with
- Why is Alicia dressed like Shrek?
- Guy who has been completely forgotten about for the last seven episodes shows up and tells everyone they need to help him do a thing. THE END.

Season 10 Death Predictions!
Now that we have had time to digest the trailer and the Mizekiel thing, what are your thoughts on who is gonna bite the dust this time around?
• Gabriel. He hasn't done a lot for the past 2 seasons, and I expect one of the quadrangle to die, and Gabriel is the most likely as Eugene is more useful, and Siddiq is the last link to Carl.
• Alden. Of all the main cast list for the season, he is the most expendable, I see potential in the character, but with the show hitting 10, they cant afford to get rid of too many BIG characters, so Alden fits the mould for this.
• Kelly. Kelly is the least important member of her 5, but, she will bring a lot of development to the rest of them, especially Connie.
• Laura. In the trailer, she is standing in line with Michonne, Daryl and Carol opposite Alpha in regards to crossing the border. In terms of being punished, if one gets outright killed with that gun, it will be her.
• Luke. Possible Mid-season death. He is likeable as a character, and the actor is fairly well known, which makes me believe that he wont be around that long. Yet again, more development for Connie, Magna and Yumiko. Maybe Kelly depending on if he died first.
• Ezekiel. The wildcard. I see him surviving season 10, but then I dont also. He escaped the pikes because, with how that played out, it was too timid a death for a character such as Ezekiel. He seems likely to go out fighting, in a blaze of glory, so they saved him from the pikes, just to take him away the season after.
Who are yours and what are the reasons?

2 Better Call Saul Emmy nominations revoked.
Two Emmy nominations for the network’s short-form series “Better Call Saul: Employee Training: Madrigal Electromotive Security” have been pulled after it was deemed ineligible for competition.
The Television Academy recently discovered that the series didn’t meet the minimum required runtime of two minutes for at least six episodes — a new stipulation that was added to the Emmy rules this year.
As a result, the show’s nomination for outstanding short form comedy or drama series, as well as star Jonathan Banks’ nomination for outstanding actor in a short form comedy or drama series, have been revoked.
Luckily for Banks, he’s still nominated in the outstanding supporting actor in a drama series race

I thought that Jonathan Banks was a lock for outstanding actor in a short form comedy or drama series, and he would finally get his first Emmy.

[SPOILERS] Last Of The Starks had the best ending to an episode all season
The dialogue is fantastic. I love the way Qyburn and Tyrion greet each other. I feel like many people don’t understand Tyrion’s actions in this scene. He knows Cersei is a cold blooded bitch, and he knows she likely won’t surrender. But he knows if he doesn’t at least try, Dany will burn innocents. I know a lot of people have a problem with Cersei having a clear shot at them in this scene, but I think she knew she was gonna die anyway, so why not let Dany burn everyone. And Lena does a great job showing what she’s thinking without even saying anything. I also thought Missandeis death was very poetic. She had been freed by Dany and Imprisoned by Cersei. And the reaction to her death from Grey Worm was of mourning sadness. But from Dany not sadness, but anger and rage. That was the moment she went mad.

In S1E9 did anyone figure out it was Chuck?
It did not make any sense why Hamlin would not give Jimmy the job, especially after looking at his major breakthrough case. But it would make sense as to why it would be Chuck, because he knew who Jimmy was. I figured this out straight after the Hamlin scene, and was wondering whether anyone else did. I thought it was pretty obvious given the scene at the start where Chuck makes the phone call, so Im guessing most people did.

I really don't understand how I feel about this show
I started it last week and I'm already on season 3, but I really don't know if I like the show. It's interesting to get a background on Jimmy/Saul but it feel like nothing has happened the whole time that matters. In breaking bad there was a lot of character and story progression by now but it seems like after 3 seasons nothing has happened. I realize this is probably an unpopular opinion but I'm curious to hear other thoughts about this.
