Dumbest things in the show used to justify X plot development?

So I'm rewatching season three. There's a bit where little girl Meghan only has the Governor there to help her and she has to run to him for safety and its a significant moment in their relationship where Meghan starts viewing him as a father figure. Literal leap of faith. However in order for this to happen, the other two adults present (Tara and Meghan's mom) have to both be occupied so they can't be the ones who help. This means that the writers make it so Tara suddenly hurts her leg and the mom has to support her. The way this happens is the dumbest fucking thing. Tara hears a bird, turns around to look at it, and somehow manages to sprain her ankle while doing so. It is literally something out of a comedy sketch. (She is of course, fine, not one day later.) It's not organic writing, the writers just want something to happen so they smush their characters together till it does.

There's that the other repeated offence of Lori inexplicably losing Carl all the time in season two so Carl can start a character moment/moment of peril somewhere else. But what else we got?
