Now I know everyone thinks that season 9 was really good and a huge improvement over 7 and 8. But I simply can't get invested in half these characters, especially with Rick gone and Michonne leaving soon. I think the first 5 episodes of season 9 were some of the best of the entire show but the rest of the season, without Rick was just too hard to get invested in. Especially with the pike scene. I did not care about a single person who died. I hope they make some big changes in season 10.
Edit: Maggie was also one of my favorite characters and she just up and left at the same time as Rick. Hopefully she returns in season 10
