Just want to take a moment to appreciate this scene from the new Blue's Clues. The passing of the torch was done in such an amazing way, bringing back the old hosts, continuing the story, showcasing new technologies, and acknowledging that things have changed. I grew up watching Blue's Clues everyday, Steve and Joe were both role models of mine who taught me love, creativity, and curiosity. However, as an half-White half-Asian American I didn't have many role models in the media I consumed that looked like me. I'm ecstatic that this generation of children and other Asian American youth get to have Josh as another role model to look up to. I love the moment when Steve speaks directly to the audience. Steve wasn't speaking just to the children watching the show but to the generation who grew up watching as well as the generations who had kids who had Blue's Clues in their homes. Steve without explicitly saying it acknowledges that Josh may face some challenges being a Filipino actor hosting a show previously hosted by two white men. He simply says that we should help Josh in this process, and points out that he needed help too when he started, not unlike Joe when he was the change that took over the show. Change can be scary and uncertain but if we all just try to help in that change and support those that come after us then we will all be better off moving forward.Thank you Blue's Clues
