I love the moment when Walt and Skylar are going over their fiction in Bullet Points. Walt says to Skylar “I’m sorry I put you through all this” and it seems like such a tender moment. Even Skylar is touched. And then “how’s that?” Revealing it was all a performance from Walt.
Then later in Winner, we get to see that moment on steroids. Jimmy gives an impassioned speech to the bar that Kim buys hook line and sinker and then reveals he’s playing everyone for a sucker.
It’s like Breaking Bad is flashing that theme of fake sincerity but Better Call Saul bathes in it.
