Season 2 of this show just started on Adult Swim last week and they've aired four episodes already. I get the feeling that the way they're batch airing them, it's probably not getting another season, which is a shame.
If you're from the midwest(the show is set in Michigan) you'll be able to relate to so much of the culture he discusses and the gorgeous and simultaneously bland scenery that the show has. Watching the show reminds me of spending time with my grandparents and just growing up in the midwest in general.
The show is sort of like Mr. Rogers with a heavier lean towards comedy, but this isn't your typical Adult Swim comedy. Joe Pera is a really understated, genuine dude who just gives an honest look at how he lives and how his mind works.
It's nearing brilliance, is really insightful, and at times is touching. Give this show a shot if you're looking for something a little different when it comes to comedy.
If you want a must watch episode, seek out the episode where he hears The Who's "Baba O'Riley" for the first time. That's probably the most outwardly hilarious episode.
