I’m curious, is everyone still upset by Daenerys ending? I know there was a huge outcry after the finale but have people had time to reflect? While I did not enjoy the last couple seasons, as a book reader and show watcher, her ending did not surprise me at all. She did exactly what she said she was going to do and had been doing the entire time. Why did everyone excuse her tyrant behavior simply because she was burning, hanging and torturing the rich guys? She always had it in her. While rereading the books, it’s very clear she knew her brother was no fit king, once she was pregnant I think if Drogo and her son had lived she would have been quite happy to live out her life as a khalessi to Drogo. Westeros wasn’t her world or dream, it was her brother’s, she adopted it after his death, Drogo had said it would be his son that would sit on the iron throne, not Dany and she was fine with that. Drogo and her son’s death turned her, I think we were seeing a spiraling woman with an obsession fueled by heartbreak. I don’t doubt that her ending in the books (that’s if we ever read it) will be similar, she’s much worse and even more brutal in the books. (The book has a more complex plot line involving Dany and several others so her burning King’s Landing could be in response to something, not necessarily because she was purging it.)
