“Five-O” is a perfect Breaking Bad short film

This has been on my mind for a long time and I feel the need to share with this community. Perhaps someone out there will take me up on this suggestion and enjoy a new piece of Breaking Bad content.

I know there are a ton of Breaking Bad fans out there who have not yet watched Better Call Saul. Now that the show has five seasons under its belt, it’s understandable how daunting the task to watch it is. However, I know of a singular episode that anyone can follow and watch. It not only shows the incredible heights the show can reach, but also adds a significant amount of backstory to a fan-favorite character.

Better Call Saul’s 106 episode “Five-O” focuses entirely on Mike. For once he is not the B-story. Saul appears, but is not a significant part of the episode. It centers around Mike’s history with the Philadelphia PD, touches more on Mike’s family, and it shines more of a light on his overall motivations. That’s all I can say without giving too much away.

The story is completely contained within one episode. No prior episodes are required viewing, so it plays out like a 40-minute Breaking Bad movie staring Mike.

I whole-heartedly suggest anyone craving more Breaking Bad, but not all of Better Call Saul, to give it a watch.
