i get that walter wanted the money to pay for his chemo and all that, but he also makes a pretty big point of leaving money behind for his family early on.
the last time i watched the show, the line between family and himself seemed to blur around the beginning of the gus era, but after another rewatch i think it’s much earlier than that.
i’m in the middle of season 2 and i just randomly had the thought of “why would walter just assume his family would be cool with accepting a bunch of drug money from him (or money that comes from thin air if he doesn’t tell them about that part)?” was he gonna give it to them in a way similar to the gretchen and elliot thing from the finale?
or were they just trying to make it clear earlier on than i realized that walter wasn’t really in it for the family?
