I have made a rewrite of Game of Thrones - Season 8 as the aired series completed put the story line in disarray and to be honest was a big disappointment. Hence, I present a rewrite a GoT Season 8. I will be posting the rewrite of one episode every day. In the post, I am mentioning the perspective in which I refactored some character arcs. So, do consider the following when you read the rewritten episodes:
- While refactoring some character arcs, I have tried to put them in sync with previous 7 seasons as possible. For example- I feel I have done some justice to Euron Greyjoy, but I cannot turn him into the badass Ironborn he is in the books. The arc needs to follow what has been built through the previous seasons.
- I have retained some, you might say "strange" features of storytelling that we have noticed in the previous seasons. Like time travelling - Varys does this in my refactoring.
- Tried to correctly put as many prophecies, destinies and symbolism in their correct. "The Prince that was Promised", "Azor Ahai", "The Long Night", "Valyrian Steel", "Direwolves", "Dragons", "Iron Throne", "Night King" - all of them try to put the correct pieces in the puzzle to create a coherent plot.
- A major refactor I have done is of Daenerys Targaryen. The mad queen thing literally ruined such an important character without even a logical build up. Hence, I made a new better respectable character arc for her that fits in line with her character build up from Season 1.
- Finally, refactored the arc of Golden Company. The way they have been shown in the series, even not having them would not have made a bigger difference. From point 1) I definitely cannot make them as badass as the books and where they have a strong history and culture. But you will find a minor co-relation.
That is all. In the upcoming I will post Season 8 - Episode 1 - "Winterfell"
