Something new I appreciate on my 3rd rewatch

Im currently watching S2E4 (“Down”) and something I’m appreciating is Walt’s desperate and blatant attempts to seem like a “good guy” to his family. The jokingly making pancakes and omelettes, the suggestion to go to the writers convention with Skyler, the casual covering up of his second cellphone, his attempt to slip back on his “mild-mannered dad” skin. And both Skyler and the audience see through his bullshit easily. He’s so blatant and exaggerated about it. He tries a different strategy in S2E10 (“Over”) where he transforms himself into a “man’s man” and attempts to renovate the utility closet without any help. My dad ( who is not an expert on home repairs) did this shit all the time, right down to the coming inside to grab food, still dirty in his work clothes, being all brash about how he’s gonna take care of things. And this is a seasons-long phenomenon with Walt. In season 3, he tries to win Skyler over with pizza( and dipping sticks :D ) and she immediately shuts him down.
