As we all know incest is frowned upon in society and you would probably go to jail for falling in love and marrying your sibling...
The Targaryens on the other hand owned it and used it to keep their blood lines pure and of old Valyria. Couples like Aegon, Rhaenys, Visenya and Jaehaereys & Alyssane etc are amazing.
