I've been rewatching Mad Men recently (still as amazing as ever, and one of the 10 greatest shows ever made) and I came across one of my favourite scenes from the show. In the season 1 finale, Don pitches the idea of the Kodak slide projector as a kind of carousel/wheel.
It's such a beautiful scene. The speech Don gives about what the sliding photos represent, the nature of memory and nostalgia, and the ability to travel to that place where you belong and are loved - it's haunting, melancholy and emotional. Jon Hamm just kills it in this scene, and it encompasses the two major facets of his character. The manipulative ad man who will exploit anything to sell a product, and the broken, haunted husband and father who loves his family yet can't help self-destructing.
The accompanying music and visuals really add to it as well. Just one of the best written, directed and acted scenes in any TV show ever, imo.
