[SPOILERS] A better ending for the show

It's almost 2 years since the last season of game of thrones came out and after rewatching the show the last days/weeks I am still extremely sad how bad the last season is written. There may be some plot holes and bad written parts in the seasons before, but it's by far not as bad as in season 8. And while watching it, I came up with a little scenario in my head on how the ending would have been nearly the same (no other deaths, etc) but easier to digest. Please note: this post contains major spoilers for all seasons

Let's begin with one thing that upset me a lot. In season 7 Tyrion has a hard time on convincing Dany to not just fly to Kingslanding and burn the whole city down. He also disagrees with her brutal decision to kill the Tarlys. This 2 events could have been the beginn of Tyrion and Varys realising that Dany is not as good and kind as they may thought. But in season 8 when Tyrion is asked if he believes that Dany is different than her father or all the other brutal monarchs he nods without a single sign of disagreeing and says yes. Wouldn't it be a great moment for the relationship development of Dany and Tyrion if we see that Tyrion tries to agree that she is not like her father, but then remembers what she already did and that makes him keep his mouth shut. Seeing that Tyrion can't defend Dannys actions would have opened a door where we slowly begin to question Danys sanity and moral. It would also give Tyrion more reasons to before Jaime before the battle. I think it would have been nicer if Tyrion started earlier to come back to his roots and family.

A second point is Danys madness. She always was merciless and brutal, but as long as she used it for good we agreed with her actions. The first signs of losing her sanity do we see, when she arrives in Westeros and wants to get the throne as soon as possible. She becomes obsessed with it, but they never show how far she would actually go to get it. There is also no scene, in which other characters talk about how obsessed she became. The first time it is a real topic for other characters, that someone else would be a better monarch is in S8E4. That is sad and it's way to late to really establish Dany as a mad queen, who is ruthless.

A third point, connected to the second is the battle of kings landing and how she loses her sanity while hearing the bells. I find that scene completely stupid. I know they wanna tell us she becomes insane because Cersei killed one of her children she lost Viserion and Missandei too. But it's lame, to have to mad queen that lost the children. And Danys main focus aren't her children, her main focus is the empire she tries to create. Imagine her not destroying kings landing, but occupy the red keep. Dany walks into the throne hall and she sees Cersei sitting on the iron throne with a smirk on the lips and Cersei just gives Dany the feeling to have lost the battle. Dany is so furiose she just gets onto her dragon and burned Cersei and the complete city down for the sake of showing she won and that she is powerful. And we see it from the victims perspective and then a cut to Tyrion who tells Jon "She is like her father. She always was: I should have known she is, when she wanted to burn down the city right after her arrival." Then they discuss how to stop her and they talk about love and duty. Jon kills her like we know it: in the throne hall after she killed thousands of people and told her soldiers from essos in a foreign language that she will destroy basically everything.

I think these are things that would have made her development in the last season a lot better and with that, the show would have had a more logical ending. I also think, that Bran as kings is a bad decision and there is too much comic relief in S8E6 after Danys death.

What about you? Do you disagree with Danys development or do you think it was always super clear she would be a almost fascistic ruler that doesn't doubt the death of thousands?

PS: I also disagree with other plot decisions in season 8, but don't dress them here, because they change major endings

PPS: i ain't a native English speaker and I am sorry if there are any grammar or vocabulary or spelling mistakes, I tried my very best! :)
