[SPOILERS] Finally got around to watching game of thrones. This is easily the best show I’ve ever seen...until season 8 hit. What the hell happened?!? I’m so disappointed and sad..

WARNING THIS IS A LONG POST. I dedicated so much time watching 8 seasons of this show and really grew attached to it. With this comes a lot of passionate opinions. So don’t take this to heart as it’s just my opinion on the show as a whole(which I still consider one of the best shows I’ve seen) doesn’t mean I can’t dislike certain aspects and believe it could have been much better. So here it is.

It’s like they took the best of their ideas on how each “story” could end and threw them out the window and went with the worst ideas possible.

For starters. The battle against the dead was hyped up the entire show. I was so excited to see how the hell they were going to win. And for most of the episode I was blown away and loving how it was going. The dead were absolutely terrifying and exactly how they were hyped up to be. And then before I know it, the entire horde dies in the blink of the eye by a single dagger.. how did she even sneak up on the king white walker??? The war against the dead should have been longer and not won in a single battle. It was hyped since literally the FIRST episode.

Next thing I really hated was how they completely blew over the hype that Jon freaking snow was really this high and mighty heir this whole time!! I was so hyped to see everyone’s reactions to hearing that and instead it was blown over. Sansa and Arya’s reactions were completely left out. I get Jon(aegon?) was an honorable guy but he should have had a much better reaction to not being a bastard. Same with everyone else. It’s like no wonder this dude Keeps coming out on top, he’s a damn king! I was very disappointed with how this was handled..

Next Danaeris goes completely against what she has been the entire series.. she was breaker of chains the whole time. Then in two episodes decides to throw it all out the window and murder the entire population of kings landing? Without a reason to do it either other than simply being evil. I don’t get it. Atleast give a reason to why she thought murdering everyone (and not even going for queen cerci but instead a bunch of random innocent people instead) why not have her burn cerci first and then have the people refuse her as queen which intern makes her burn them rather than hearing some bells and going awire.. I was so sad watching that episode unfold. It just made absolutely no sense..

Next why did Jon have to be the one to kill Danaeris.. he is the most honorable and good person all show long. And they decide to throw his entire character away by going against everything he was as a person.. I get it, Danaeris was evil now and had to be dealt with. I just don’t think Jon sneaking up on her and betraying her was the way to get rid of her. Plus not to mention drogon just allowing it to happen.. He didn’t even care! So now Jon will never be looked at as this honorable man and instead will be hated and named a queen slayer like Jamie Lannister is. So another character I really loved gets completely demolished.. I personally really thought Arya would have been the one to kill her since she nearly killed everyone on her list(or they were dead)

Then when they decide to chose who to have rule the kingdom. Why wouldn’t someone mention Jon?! Against, beside killing the queen which I guess had to be done in the eyes of all these characters, he was the most honorable and good person out of all of them and they all knew it. But he doesn’t even get a single nomination to be queen so we can atleast hear the reasons to why he shouldn’t? And Instesd they make an emotionless dude that couldn’t care less about anything the king?? Wouldn’t he be better as the hand as he could give advice on a level no one else could?

Also what the hell is Jon going to do now that the watchers of the wall don’t really have anything to defend against. Wildlings aren’t their enemies anymore.. and all the white walkers are dead along with all the dead bodies used as an army being burned.

I’m not trying to bash this show as like I said, it’s the best show I’ve ever seen. But did they switch the people responsible for making the show in the last season? It seemed like literally everything went in the opposite direction it was going to go. Did the show stop making a lot of money and they needed to really budget the final season and hurry the ending to save money?? I’m genuinely asking what happened?? Season 8 just made absolutely no sense to me and I have so many questions left unanswered. Such a shame because shows are meant to build up to good endings and without good endings the entire buildup isn’t nearly as worth it.. I’m so disappointed with the ending but ultimately sad it’s over and I have nothing to watch that I feel will be as good as this show, even with a last season that I didn’t necessarily enjoy.

What do you guys think?? Am I being dumb and letting my own feelings and how I wanted it to end get in the way?? I feel season 8 could have been soooo much better if a few things were changed.

1: the fight against the dead shouldn’t have been won in a single battle in a way that made no sense.. it could have been 2 episodes and require them to flee winterfell to regroup and then win. Plus Jon should have atleast fought the king white walker atleast once..

1. Danaeris should have had a much better reason for burning kings landing and all the innocents in it than just simply being evil. Even evil people have a motive..

2. Have someone else kill Danaeris as to not completely butcher jons honorable character that he was for 7.5 seasons. I would have chosen the assassin Arya as she was obviously pissed after seeing her burn all those innocents.

3. Have Jon be king as everyone loved him and him being a bastard his whole life would have been such a satisfying ending to it all rather than him simply getting shoved back to the wall after everything he had been through.. what was the point of it all??

4. Bonus that wouldn’t make sense but I still want, Jon gets drogon as the last Targaryen since Danaeris is dead or if not that. And if not this, have drogon go mad with sadness and then they have to deal with him as well rather than him simply flying off after his mother just died.
