Im rewatching the walking dead because I've never been able to finish it but I find it so heartbreaking how Rick and Shane's friendship died pretty much as soon as Rick got shot pre-outbreak. Sure there were moments here and there where they were on the same side but for having such a back story of being friends since childhood only for it to go up in smoke with the apocalypse and Shane getting with Lori it's pretty devastating how fast they stopped being "brothers". I wish that we could've seen more good moments between them in flashbacks or in the present before Shane dies but I also think that Shane dying was the best move for all involved. It didn't matter if he was right about things that Rick was wrong about, what mattered was the fact that Shane was unstable mentally long before he tried to kill Rick. He could've been a good leader if not for his obsession to be like Rick and his obsession for Lori. But that's besides the point I was trying to make. I think that it just goes to show how life changing circumstances can change your best friend/family into an enemy so fast and that's so sad :(
