The Walking Dead Movies Were Never Real.

I legitimately feel that the entire inception of creating "Rick Grimes Movies" Was a major bait and switch. I think Andrew Lincoln was done and asked to leave. This was obviously going to be detrimental to the show and after killing off Carl, the producers realised that they messed up, simple as that. I don't believe these films will be made. Don't hold me to this, but I think when Andrew asked to leave the writers were stuck between a rock and a hard place. The logical thing to do would have been to kill Rick off. The producers on the other hand knew that this would be a red line and could send the ratings into a tailspin. So they cooked up a concept that didn't need to materialize in any way for fans to still feel safe in the knowledge that Rick could come back. What do you think is more likely, that we are going to get some big theatrical release spin off movie of a TV show, featuring a lead that had already grown tired of playing the character. Or, would it be more rational to assume that they cooked this up as means to avoid for as long as humanly possible acknowledging the fact that he will probably just show up in the final episode in some minor capacity? Again I hope I'm proved wrong, but this was always how this came off to me. Thoughts?
