Quick Theory: What do you guys think Rick has been up to in the CRM all these years?

My theory is that he's been in a coma most of these years or maybe he still is. It makes sense since he sustained serious life-threatening injuries and it would be poetic for him to appear again on the screen, the same way we were introduced to him. What do you think?
