A new theory on what "A" versus "B" designations mean.

So as some of you may know Jadis' character has been reintroduced to The World Beyond. In a recent episode she has a conversation with another character detailing how she managed to survive before coming to the CRM. At the end of the convo she says that she gave the CRM something very valuable to buy her way in. This got me thinking.

The whole question of "A" survivors versus "B" survivors has never really been answered. People have floated Bit vs not bit and Leader vs "worker bee", but these have never set well with me.

Based off of what we know about the CRM from FTWD and TWD (I have no desire to watch TWB currently) they are supremely secretive and selective. We also know that Rick was considered an "A" person, but when he was on death's door Jadis downgraded him to "B". We also know that she thought Gabriel was a "B" person until after their "come to god" talk at which point she said she was wrong and he was really an "A".

What if "A" people are individuals deemed to be potential threats to the CRM and "B" people are non-threat, potential new citizens?

It would make sense that the CRM would pay a higher bounty for potential non-compliants to be taken "off the streets". "B"'s would be of lower priority because they would cost more resources in the grand scheme of things.

Jadis threw in with Negan because she thought that Rick was weak and thus a "B". She didn't think he was an "A" until after she saw him stand up to Negan and win. He stood up to the "bad guy" and came out on top. He didn't become a "B" again until he was mortally wounded. If he was clearly about to die he would no longer technically be a threat to the CRM.

Similarly, with Gabriel she saw his potential to be a strong and morally charismatic leader, just the type of person that a fascist post apocalyptic government would not want raising an army against them.

Thoughts?
