Okay, this is going to be a VERY unpopular opinion, I recognize that. But I feel like I need to say it.
WHY do people like Daenerys so much? I'm on my second rewatch and I truly can't understand it. Almost every scene of hers that is exciting is because the DRAGONS make it exciting. Almost every time it's just her, the storyline is dull (Qarth, Mereen, etc.). What she did in Essos was obviously amazing by freeing Slaver's Bay, but she uses that to justify her vision of being ruler of Westeros...and her whole claim to Westeros is based on birthright! What reason does she have to call herself the "rightful" queen of the Seven Kingdoms beyond her family name? She can't say that she wants to break the wheel but go all dictator (even before season 8) by saying "bend the knee or I'll roast you alive lol."
She has no personality. If you like purely ambitious characters, then I guess I understand her appeal. I understand she went through a lot when she was young...but I just can't get past her cocky and entitled attitude throughout almost the entire series.
I'm sure this will get downvoted haha...but does anyone else feel the same way?
