On my like 7th or 8th rewatch just before 11C comes out and this episode really stood out to me as the one where Daryl shined the most. Obviously prior to this episode he had purpose considering his skills in the forest and just survivalism, but he commits to the group and not himself/Merle. Rick basically says that he’s free to go and isn’t binded to the group since they found a home for the time being, and Daryl stays which I think is very significant considering how just in the prior episode he was talking about how he survived alone for over a week in the woods as a child. He doesn’t need anyone and has Merle out there someone but he chose the group and the search for Sophia. He really builds a better bond with Carol and helps comfort her with more than just thoughts and prayers. Just an afterthought but I miss this bad boy persona of Daryl, just coming off rude and harsh to everyone.
