Negan is lying when he said he was only a monster when he had to be

After watching Dead City and now rewatching seasons 7 and 8 it’s pretty obvious that Negan is full of shit when he said he was just acting horrible because he needed too. He clearly loved the power he had and was as sadistic as any character in any story. Just had to say it.
