There is a British TV show called "Utopia". After watching it, I was struck by how similar it felt to Breaking Bad. Although the premise and the idea of these two shows is utterly different, they have the same feel to them. They are the same genre, and have the same kinds of grey characters.
Utopia is a Thriller, with aspects of Dark Comedy. It involves a large amount of violent drama and involves a character slowly turning from protagonist to antagonist.
In terms of genre, Utopia is the closest show to Breaking Bad I could find. Sure, it doesn't involve cooking drugs, but they feel like such similar shows.
Hung up about the lack of more Breaking Bad? Watch Utopia. It's the British equivalent. Utopia may look weird when you look at the description, but then so did Breaking Bad when I first saw it. Just watch the first episode of Utopia. I promise if you liked Breaking Bad, you will love Utopia.
